Guiding Growth: A CSM’s Perspective on Empowering Fiverr Sellers
Hi, I’m Matan. I’m a Customer Success Manager here at Fiverr. While I’m based in Israel near Fiverr’s headquarters, I actually grew up in Dallas, Texas. So yes, I’m no stranger to that hot, humid, sticky weather that leaves you drenched. And yes, I still say “y’all” from time to time.
Before joining Fiverr, I worked in the field of Psychology and am licensed in the state of Texas. My professional background has always centered around people, understanding what motivates them, helping them navigate challenges, and encouraging meaningful, sustainable growth. That same passion for human behavior and communication continues to guide my work today.
When I moved to Israel, I knew I wanted to stay rooted in a career that focused on helping others thrive. That path led me to Fiverr, where I now support sellers from around the world by helping them uncover what’s holding them back and, more importantly, how to move forward.
What Happens When Psychology Meets Freelance Strategy
As a CSM, I work one-on-one with sellers across a wide range of categories, with a focus on Digital Marketing and Graphics and Design. My role is all about helping sellers level up, whether that means refining positioning, improving communication, branching out into new services or strengthening their overall strategy.
What I love most about this role is how it blends psychology with business strategy. I get to partner with incredibly creative, talented freelancers and help them turn their gigs into sustainable, growing businesses. Every seller I work with is different, and each conversation is a chance to connect, learn, and build something better together.
Whether it’s through data-driven insights, branding feedback, or simply being a sounding board, I’m here to help sellers navigate the platform and thrive. Because at the end of the day, success on Fiverr isn’t just about understanding the algorithm. It’s about understanding the person behind the profile. And that’s where I come in.
One of the most important and fulfilling parts of this role is taking the time to really get to know each seller. Everyone brings something unique to the table, their story, their background, their creative strengths. I firmly believe that a seller’s true value isn’t just in what service they offer, but in how they offer it. My goal is to help uncover that unique selling point, the spark that sets them apart, and guide them to tap into it with confidence. Sometimes it’s buried under self-doubt, unclear messaging, or just uncertainty about how to communicate it. But it’s always there. And once we find it, everything else starts to align.
Success Stories to Share!
A great example of this is my work with Moon Sharma, also known as ingeniousarts. She is a talented logo designer with a bold creative voice. While Moon built a strong foundation in branding and visual identity, she also has a growing passion and skill set for website development. Together, we’ve been working on a strategy to expand her Fiverr presence beyond logos and into web design services, repositioning her offerings to reflect her full range of capabilities. Watching her gain confidence, refine her messaging, and step into this new space has been incredibly rewarding. Another standout experience has been working with Alessandro Giovannini, known on Fiverr as ageuroconsultin. He specializes in crafting investor-ready business plans for startups. From our early conversations, it was clear he brought sharp financial acumen and a deep understanding of startup needs. As I got to know him and his team better, we identified an exciting niche in developing AI roadmaps for business process automation. While those gigs haven’t launched yet, we are currently refining the positioning and messaging. Given Alessandro’s expertise and the rapidly growing demand in this space, I am confident that once these services go live, they will unlock a powerful new growth opportunity for his business. What the Future Holds?
My approach as a CSM combines data, empathy, and strategy. I enjoy diving into a seller’s analytics and pairing those insights with meaningful conversations about their goals, challenges, and motivations. It’s never just about impressions or click-through rates. Those metrics matter, of course, but lasting progress happens when we take a step back and look at the bigger picture. What’s working? What’s not landing? Where is the disconnect between a seller’s talent and their visibility?
Because of my background in psychology, one of my strengths is hearing what isn’t being said. I often help sellers reframe how they think about their offerings, their pricing, or even how they present themselves. Small mindset shifts can lead to significant results. My job is to walk alongside sellers on that journey, offering guidance, encouragement, and when needed, a bit of tough love.
