Industry deep dive: sport and fitness
Today I wanted to talk about a very popular parent industry with low conversion: Sport and Fitness.
Sport and Fitness is a very popular industry, and buyers that are choosing it in the brief can have many different types of intent. Some buyers choose a child industry and are more specific about what they are looking for, but a lot of them are simply entering sport and fitness. How can we increase conversion and help buyers find what they are looking for?
The list of industries we have under “Sport and Fitness” varies. Cheerleading, Tennis, Gym, Yoga and Skateboarding are only a few examples, and the logos for each of those industries look entirely different!
Since we have so many searches for  this parent industry we highly encourage you to tag logos with it, but pay attention to the intent of buyers who choose this industry. A buyer that is looking for a logo for a Yoga business, a cycling group or a tennis team would be more specific.
For starters, let's think of logos that would fit the term “Sport” and the term Fitness”: “Sport”  is very general and would use elements that are used in sport activities. Fitness logos will include elements that have to do with any individual activity done in a gym, in the park or any other environment where one can practice sports. When considering designing a logo for each of the child industries under sports, we have to consider the specific industry and what elements are popular in this industry.
Below is a list of sport  industries that are in great need of quality supply and elements we recommend using within the logos:
  1. Sport and  Fitness: Think how you can be as general as possible when thinking about sport. It can be a running man, an abstract shape that represents movement, or elements that represent success such as a star.
  1. Fitness Club / Gym Center: Some of the logos tagged for Sport and Fitness can fit here too: Weights, dumbbells, muscled man and so on.
  1. Athletics: People in movement! that can be either a person running, jogging,  jumping, or any other movement done in sports. We asked for such logos in the past but still need many more!
  1. Sports Team/ Club: Sport Mascots / Vintage style logos with sport elements such as a ball, a trophy, or any other sport equipment you can think of! Sport Mascots that use animals can work here too, but we have many more of these ones and this is not a dire need.  pay attention to the style of drawing of the animals, it must fit a sports team.
In conclusion, when thinking about designing for a specific industry, always think about the buyer's intent: what is he looking for when choosing his industry? When a buyer is looking for Sport and Fitness he is probably looking for something very general so avoid tagging logos that belong to a specific sport. We have child industries just for that!
Furthermore, Be as specific as possible and make sure to tag the main elements in the logo only. Keep in mind that the combination of the tag and the industry is aimed to get the perfect match!!
Looking forward to seeing a lot of spectacular logos in action!!!

Hello talented designers!
As a lot of you know, in the past year buyers are able to choose the style of logo they want to have. Since then we have noticed that “Vintage” style is highly popular but we are still missing a lot of logos for specific industries! When thinking about vintage style logos, we need to differentiate between vintage style drawing and vintage style design. Vintage style drawing is highly detailed, sometimes looks like a sketch drawn in pencil. Vintage style logo on the other hand is usually a logo within a frame where text has a dedicated space for it.
Be careful not to confuse vintage with retro! In retro style, there are psychedelic drawings and fonts that are reminiscent of the 60s or 70s, and bright colors are used.

There is a dire need for vintage style logos in the following  Industries:
1.Retail & Wholesale - Tag the both the parent industry and the following child industries: Bookstores, clothing stores, department stores, furniture stores, glasses and sunglasses stores, home and kitchen stores, shopping center, supermarket, travel gear stores, warehouse stores, liquor stores and smoke and vape shop.
A lot of brands that open a retail store would like the name of the brand to be a part of the logo. Since we do not offer logos that only use typography, vintage style logos are a very nice way to go around it where buyers can enter their business name and change the font as they wish.
If you already uploaded such logos we encourage you to tag them with Retail & Wholesale and if you haven't yet, here is your chance to do so!
2. Fashion and Apparel - Tag the both the parent industry and the following child industries:  clothing brand, women clothing and men clothing.
Similarly to retail stores, fashion brands also like to include the brand name in the logo where sometimes it is the main element of the logo and other elements are like an ornament that decorates it. When creating a logo for the fashion industry the initial thought is to include an element such as a shirt, hat, sewing equipment ect, but think about it, how many fashion stores or brands actually use those elements in real life? I can only assume not a lot…

Below are examples of great vintage logos that some of our talented designers here designed. All can fit those industries perfectly:

Now, before you start designing logos for those industries in vintage style, it is only natural to go to google for inspiration. While some decent logos can be found on google, most of them are, well, very low quality and are not connected to the reality of what buyers are actually looking for. What we usually find is those logos that use the elements that first come to mind, (a drawing of a woman for a women's fashion logo for example) but those are not the logos we see in real life! In general, I encourage you all to pay attention to existing logos you see around you when you take a walk around your neighborhood or next time you go to a mall 🙂 As always, I would be very happy to hear your thoughts and comments about this post!
