I thought about your situation and would like to suggest something, but it is just my personal opinion, and you are not bound to agree with it. If you want to get orders from other countries, then you have to wait a while until your gigs get impressions and block the Nigerian accounts or any similar accounts whenever they contact you for orders. Grow your account properly to get authentic and bigger orders in the future.

Thank you so much for considering my problem. I really appreciate it. I'll definitely act upon your advice, and I'm hopeful that my future on Fiverr will be bright!

  4. Hey there,

    I hope you're all doing well. I'm Zacid, a student who's also a 3D artist on Fiverr.

A few years back during summer vacation, I found myself with a lot of free time, so I decided to learn some new skills. I've always been fascinated by computer graphics and the amazing results developers achieve. I dove into YouTube and started exploring the world of 3D graphics. It's like a deep sea, and the more I learn, the more I discover about this incredible field. Initially, it was just a hobby, but then someone introduced me to Fiverr, where I found out I could earn money doing what I love. After some research and learning about the platform's mechanics, I published my GIG in April 2020. Soon enough, I started receiving orders, and it was a life-changing moment for me. Now, I can pay my college fees, buy things I've always wanted, and do so much more. The earnings on Fiverr may not be significant for everyone, but it varies depending on where you live. For example, $500 could be a lot for some and nothing for others.

Later on, a person from Nigeria contacted me (please note, I'm not trying to offend anyone; I'm just sharing my experience). They shared a project reference image with me, and we discussed the project requirements and budget. The project was about creating a custom 3D avatar for VRChat, and it was an exciting opportunity as Metaverse and VR were gaining popularity. I completed the project successfully, and that person told his friends to contact me. From there, my journey with these people began.

Their working process was a bit different. They contacted me from a buyer profile claiming to be from countries like Sweden, United Kingdom, United States, etc. But, when I asked them to place the order, they requested to send the custom offer to their friend. I knew it was against Fiverr rules, but they insisted, saying it would help a poor person like me. I didn't want to lose the project, so I reluctantly agreed. As time passed, they started placing orders directly on a single account, making it easier for me. I've also worked with people from Germany, Canada, Australia, etc., but something felt odd whenever a person from Nigeria contacted me. Their body language and the way they presented the project requirements seemed unusual, as if copied from someone else.

One day, I received project requirements stating a budget of $400, but when I confirmed, the person said it was only $20, claiming it was a mistake. That's when I realized these Nigerian people were reselling my projects at much higher prices. It seemed like a scam, and unfortunately, they were using my project images all over the internet, even claiming they were the creators. I reported this to Fiverr, but their response was disappointing. They suggested contacting those individuals to remove the images, but that never happened.

These scammers have a whole setup in Nigeria where they deceive people, pretending to teach skills, but their main agenda is fraud. They operate from smartphones and can't even open the files I send them. It's been 2-3 years dealing with them, and I'm frustrated. For some reason, people from other countries rarely contact me for projects, and I can't figure out why. I have over 3 years of experience, completed numerous projects, and I'm skilled enough to handle any project related to my field, but it's been challenging to attract higher-paying projects.

I must admit, dealing with these Nigerian scammers (please note, I'm not trying to offend anyone; I'm just sharing my experience) has been disheartening. I know not everyone from Nigeria is like that, as I've met some amazing people too. Nevertheless, I've had enough of this situation.

Whenever I try to protect my work by adding watermarks or offering licenses to buyers, they cancel the project and even report my account, leading to warnings from Fiverr. It's been a tough journey, and I feel like I'm at a loss.

I know this is a long message, and I might not receive a reply, but I had to share my story here since I have no one else to turn to for advice. If anyone knows a solution to my problem, please guide me.

    Warm regards! 😊

    Hi,
I'm Bhathiya and a new a new seller to Fiverr and I do illustrations and character designing. I need an immediate response from the experienced members as I believe I was subjected to a fraud. Last August a buyer contacted me for a book project about full color 30 pages including book cover.
I received the sources for illustrations and I duly completed the the project as the customer pleases. I submitted all the source files and did all the revisions he demanded and he also ask for the next book design. But unfortunately on the very day the payments had to be cleared, the customer has unfairly cancelled the order without any further acknowledgment. As a new seller I find this harms my entire gig and shocked to see this kind of a conduct.

    hi there Bhathiya

i understand your worries that in these days fiverr is full of scammers.

you can ask the buyer that "why he canceled the order" in the mean while contact customer support and tell them about the current situation

the fiverr support will guide you and might tell you to block the buyer and to report him but sadly the project cannot be recovered

i also got scammed from several people on fiverr but i prefer that you should continue to provide best service and hope that you will get a nice project in future which can recover the loss

    Thanks

    Thanks

I don't know why people get in touch and vanishes, today waited for my client for many hours to reply so that I can complete the job of 65 millions data in python to "filter the data" but yet not contacted, should I make these messages spam?

    hi there

i understand your worries sometimes these types of situation also happened to me

i am a lead CG artist and before starting any project and before sending the custom offer to a buyer i send them at least one WIP

after the first update they can place the order but sometime they dont replay

i prefer instead of blocking them or marking them as spam leave them and delete the chat

because sometime a buyer is busy in some other things and they might contact you after a while

last week a buyer contacted me and he wants a 2 month old pending project and we completed it nicely

    wish you good luck !

I’m a level 1 seller and working on Fiverr from the last 1 year as a graphic designer. Today I did some changes on my gig and my gig goes under review. After some time Fiverr denied my gig with the reason that “This type of service is currently not supported in our catalog.” This was my main gig and it was about five to six months old. And there were 36 reviews on it with all 5 star ratings. And this gig removal will badly affect my business on fiverr & you know how hard it is to grow and get reviews on a new gig. There are many sellers providing the same service. A lot of them are top-rated, level 2. (You can see the attachment section where I will add the screenshot) If these sellers are providing this same service then why only my GIG has been removed?

    hi there!

i understand your worries sometime fiverr algorithm make some mistakes or as shafain876 it might be a copyright issue

i prefer contacting fiverr support and tell them about this issue they will guide you well.

How do I receive an order?

    hi there!

if you are new to fiverr and made the account a few days ago i prefer that you should send the link of your gig to your social media accounts to boost the traffic on the gig

    send custom offers daily

groom your gig and profile by making flawless thumbnails and providing additional things that no one does

and considering that you are new so the basic package will be of 5$ but when you got some orders and become level one seller i prefer increasing the price

make more then one gig but all the other gigs must provide different services but related to one medium like Graphic designing

    Thanks

I am losing my hope😔.I cannot get any order what can I do?

you can share your gig link to your social media accounts to boost the traffic on the gig and always sent buyer requests daily in this way you can get orders

also you can improve your GIG gallery and description to attract buyers

if you have the promoted GIG option you can promote a gig so you can get some big projects

    THANKS

Stay Online as much as possible time on Fiverr at Pacific Time Zone, Fiverr Gig Promotion is a good Idea, I have got many orders through Fiverr Gig Promotion, you can use it with low bid at starting.

Also Check your Account/Gigs and Optimize the Gigs according to SEO Rules.

Hopefully after doing all the above steps, you will start getting orders again.

    Hi there,

It is one of those situations where if it bothers you then you're right to block them, but if you're satisfied with your price, and the buyer is easy to work with, I'd say what's the loss, even if he/she makes a new gig, they'll come to you to hire, more business for you. I've had clients who outsource work to me and it used to bother me earlier, but now I'm fine with it 🙂

    Hope this answers your question.

    hi there sir

    thanks for your response

they (buyer or seller) is making a huge profit like he is selling the product (without making any amendments) in 200$ and giving me just 45$

to prevent these types of scams i made a gig extra option for commercial and non-commercial us

I hope it helps, but the good news is that there are still plenty of buyers who are honest, despite the flood from that "certain country" you mentioned.

yes sir i am making all of my products from scratch and about 70% of my buyers are from that country if i refuse to do their work politely they force me to do their work in less cost

This can be tricky. Technically once you sell something, all rights pass to them, unless you specifically specify otherwise. What you are describing is the entire sales cycle. T-shirt made in China for 25 cents, sold to distributor in US for $2.00, sold to retail chain for $4.00, sold to consumer for $15.00. Imagine Chinese factory worker suggesting that it is unfair because someone resold it at a profit?

Again, unless you specifically state that all copyright and ownership rights are not transferred upon sale, and transfer is prohibited, this is how every business works.

thanks for your response sir and i really appreciate that i acted on your advice ,edited my GIG and made an option for commercial or non-commercial use. And can i make a watermark on my product images before sending them to buyers

    Thanks

  19. Hi there!

    I hope everyone is well

Today a person contacted me for a project as we are discussing about the project I checked the buyer profile to see his reviews .The person who contacted me is also a seller so I checked his seller reviews and after seeing that I was surprised that he is providing the same service that I do and in his reviews there are 4 reviews in which a portfolio image or screen recording is included when I saw the portfolio images I was shocked that the products are made by me (but for some other buyers).

So long story short he was reselling the products (that I made) to other people in a huge budget.

And the fun part is that he is using different different products that i made for (Different buyers)

I think it is a group of people who buys products from sellers at low budget and sells the products to the real owners and the real owners are giving them a huge budget.

I immediately blocked the (buyer or seller)

its not the first time that I encountered these type of people and they are from a specific country

so my main concern is that how can I avoid these type of (buyer or seller)? and how can I save my product to be only used in my GIG?

    THANKS !

Yes you can send me the screenshot of Fiverr support messages (but if you do you should blur our/remove the name of the person to make it okay with Fiverr rules).

Though I assume it will basically say what you've said in your initial posts here.

I think it's worth telling Fiverr that your brother shares the same connection, but still let them know that neither of you have made any purchases (if that's the case).

You can prove you haven't made any purchases by screenshotting the relevant section of the buyer section of your Fiverr screen(s) and attaching it to the support ticket and asking them to view that. Maybe ask them to also show you proof of any orders they are claiming you made (that violated any rules).

For the "feedback boosting activity" they might have also meant asking for 5 star reviews or something (I'm not saying you did do that though) if they weren't totally talking about making orders. Maybe they could be talking about asking the buyer to split an order into an unnecessary high number of orders just to increase the amount of reviews and asking them to review each. I'm just guessing what it might be though.

But if they're saying you made purchases when you (and your brother) definitely didn't I definitely contact them more about that with proof.

    here are the screenshots sir,

and about "feedback boosting activity" yes ,I had told some buyers just to share their experience by reviewing (I haven't told them to give me 5 stars) because from my total order about 50% of orders have reviews on them and the other doesn't have reviews because the buyers don't accept those remaining 50% orders and they are automatically marked as completed. And also there are some buyers who place orders directly on my GIG without contacting me ,To full fill the price of their projects they place multiple orders I had told them multiple times not to place the orders directly ,I also told them to contact me before placing the order so we can get their work done with a milestone offer.

    Thanks sir.
