  1. I have a good profile with quite a lot of good reviews, but I feel stuck about the part of "uploading projects" and "building a portfolio".

I am a translator and editor, and mostly, people will not want me to share their as-yet-unpublished stories or books or articles.

So much so, that I find it inappropriate to ask them for permission.

Yet, of course I'd like to have a portfolio as well.

I can perhaps upload examples of already-translated projects, but they were not done on Fiverr - does that matter?

I'd be interested to hear what other people do.

    Best regrds

  2. I've been here for several years now, have done quite many jobs, and the single most disruptive issue to working well with clients on the platform when use of Hebrew language is needed (or, for that matter, Arabic, I'm sure) is that the chat is completely garbled.

It is highly inconvenient to "chat" with clients only via attached word documents, only because the chat doesn't support right to left communication.
    I do Hebrew editing
and chatting with clients this way looks like the most unprofessional thing imaginable.

    It is also time consuming

It means any English word in the chat needs to be set in a new line so the text is comprehensible.
I am also truly amazed that a company made in Israel will not prioritize this (I'm Israeli myself though partly educated abroad...)
I alerted support about it years ago and they said all they could do was pass it on.

Is there anyone else who cares about how unprofessional and basic an issue this is for anyone who needs to communicate in Hebrew or Arabic or any right-to-left language?

I would very much appreciate as a seller if this request would be taken seriously and would love to hear if there is a change in that respect,

    Thanks for reading this,

Check the tabs on the top of the order page. I think the package they select is in the "details" tab.

They should put the requirements in the "requirements" tab.

Make sure you have mandatory field(s) for the relevant requirements in your gig set-up. eg. a text box for asking what they need done.

If they haven't put anything in the requirements section you could ask them what they need in the order page.

    Thanks, that's most helpful!

  4. Hi,
A customer placed and order for editing services without asking for a custom offer.

I have worked here a lot in the past but never had this problem because most people asked for custom orders.

So I am not sure what they want exactly and whether the sum they paid is even correct.

What do you do in such cases?

    Thanks!
