Summer is here, and you may want to take some much-needed time off from the daily grind. Whether it's an annual family trip, a simple staycation, or something in between, taking a few days or weeks to rest and recover is essential.

We understand there can be anxiety centered around stepping away from the platform as you worry about how it may affect your metrics. But, rest assured that with the right preparation, you can take a break without jeopardizing your profile. Here’s what you should know:

Preparing for takeoff

Wrap up active orders

Before disconnecting, it's important to ensure you don’t have any active orders with approaching deadlines. Finish all your current projects and communicate with your buyers letting them know you will be out of the office. If there are any projects you cannot fulfill before the deadline due to your vacation, you might also want to request to extend the delivery date.

Manage new orders

To avoid negatively impacting your metrics, you should also control the volume of new orders coming in as your vacation gets closer. You can do this by turning on your Request to Order feature. In addition, you can also set a limit on the number of requests in your queue. This allows your gig to disappear from search results once your order capacity is reached.

Turn off Fiverr Ads

Since you may not want to accumulate new orders while you’re out, we suggest turning off this feature. This will ensure you are not wasting any money on impressions that will not convert into sales.

Go on vacation mode

Before officially checking out for your break, one of the last steps is to consider turning on Vacation Mode. This will:

Inform visitors to your profile that you are away.

Remove your gigs from search results.

Protect your response rate and prevent late/missed deliveries.

Keep in mind that turning on vacation mode can impact your gig’s visibility in the long term since the algorithm favors active gigs. If you do not wish to take this route, a great alternative is to make your gig less attractive to buyers by increasing your prices.
