It's been years since I've been working on Fiverr and found that be very polite, friendly, and supportive with the clients, but make your own rules of freelancing:

Don't start working on their project and send them a free sample. If they want, simply share your portfolio. If they are still insisting on working on their project, it is a alert of scammers. Simply share your portfolio and cover their question to get their order placed first, then send the sample.

I experienced the same thing with a client. She told me to edit her 50 pictures for her e-commerce store. We talked about the details and the goal very clearly. Then she asked me to send a sample for the one picture. I told her to discuss the budget so everything would be clear. We finalized the budget happily, and I made a mistake.

I worked on her picture. As it was a sample on which the whole project was based, I worked on the picture for about half of the day. I sent her without any watermark. I was happy about the project. She replied, “Love it, I'll tell you later once I share it with my partner.”

That was her last message. About 2 days later, I saw her online and messaged her. She gave me a cold reply, “Not yet.” It was her last message. I asked Can you please tell me what it means? Complete silence. I made me understand to leave. It was better.

Work for the client with full passion, but notice them and get complete satisfaction first, and inform Fiverr about these kinds of clients.
