When I started freelancing, I didn’t imagine the kinds of places my work would end up in. I focused on doing good work, being reliable, and improving with every project. Over time, that approach led to collaborations I could never have planned.

 was one of those “this is actually happening” moments. At one point, the 

 even presented my map, which made the project feel surreal and unforgettable. High responsibility, high standards, and a strong reminder of how far freelance work can travel.

 on children’s rugs was truly special. I illustrated Formula 1 tracks and designed all the rugs they sell - essentially creating the foundation of the entire brand. Later, we realized we were on vacation at the same place and time and ended up meeting in person. Seeing my illustrations turned into physical products, and meeting the person behind the brand by pure coincidence, made the whole experience magical.

I illustrated nearly 30 maps and infographics for 

. He even credited me as the author of all the maps and infographics in the book. Some time later, I watched a documentary about the submarine implosion and saw him there, thinking: “Wait… I worked on his book!” That delayed realization really stayed with me.

I’ve also created maps for major races and marathons, including the

. These projects showed me how functional illustration can directly shape real-world experiences for thousands of people.

Over the years, my maps have appeared on the websites of many school campuses, RV camps, and destinations. They’ve been published in books – both scientific and fantasy - and printed on walls in hotels and private Airbnb spaces. Seeing my work become part of places people move through every day never gets old.

 Heritage Trail, creating over 12 custom illustrations for their project. The map was printed on a large sign outside the museum, as and on flyers and brochures. Seeing my illustrations become a physical guide for visitors and part of their outreach materials was incredibly rewarding.

, a local politician, together with the chair 

, celebrated the launch of the Heritage Trail Project. 

 who reached out to have all Christian churches in Indiana, and later across the Midwestern diocese, illustrated. We created the map in multiple sizes – for a large panel as well as flyers – which was used during a meeting with the archbishop, the senior clergy of the region. I illustrated around 50 Serbian churches in that part of the US.

None of these projects felt glamorous while they were happening. The process was always focused, detailed, and very real – lots of communication, revisions, and decisions made independently. But looking back, they completely reshaped how I see freelancing as a career.
