1. Is Fiverr an okay platform to sell a ready-made product or made-to-order product? Fiverr bills itself as a freelancer forum. Freelancers sell services not products. Fiverr has a minimum $5 selling price whereas a selling platform such as Etsy does not. 

2. What is freelancing in terms of offering a service? Is it akin to the fast-food industry where the raw food is frozen or dehydrated then you just heat it up or add water to create the final product? The typically freelancer offers a service and not a ready-made product. However, for at least experienced freelancers, do you start with a very good template so most of the work is already done? Your template is your frozen or dehydrated food? My gigs are mostly MS Word formatting, editing and automation (MS Word VBA) with some Excel integration. 

3. Why aren't my gig selling? I have only 1 sale last November. I cannot seem to land a second order. I am not an established seller with a successful track record. I can understand why that would discourage some buyers. i also now realize that not many MS Word users use VBA or want to buy a VBA macro. In addition, emojis are primarily used in instant messaging and secondarily in e-mails. Not many Word users want emojis in their Word documents? Are other reasons you can think it? 

4. Do you need to learn Adobe Illustrator or at least Canva to be successful as a Microsoft Word freelancer? I look at the gig for top sellers. They show Word documents with images that cannot be generated in MS Word. Word is not a graphics design software. Word has basic graphics such as CiipArt. It looked good in the year 2000 but not in 2025. It is easy to embed an image created in Illustrator or Canva into an MS Word document. Is that what most clients really want from an MS Word gig seller or is it more "You don't sell the steak, you sell the sizzle"? Showing a professional image Illustrator image embedded in a Word document is way more appealing that showing a next-page section break (with the non-printing characters turned on in Word).
