Just scored a first-time Fiverr buyer? Well done! This is your chance to make a strong first impression and set the stage for repeat business. When working with new buyers it’s important to be mindful that they may require some extra hand-holding throughout the process. This will help them to feel comfortable and satisfied as they navigate the world of buying on Fiverr. Here are some tips to consider when working with them.

Break down the ordering process

As a first-time buyer, your customer might not be well-versed on the ins and outs of how Fiverr works. Start by briefing them on what they can expect throughout the process of working with you.
Educate them on things like Fiverr’s revision and auto-complete policy, and remind them to submit their Gig Requirements if they have yet to do so. For example, you could use a first message like this:
"Hi there (BUYER)! Thanks so much for placing your order with me! I can’t wait to get started on this project! Here are a few things you can expect with this order: This order is for (whatever the service is) You’ve also purchased X, Y, and Z Gig Extras (if applicable) Based on the package you’ve selected, you can expect to receive your order in X Days. Once delivered, you’ll have up to 3 days to review the delivered material and either accept the delivery or request a revision.
Based on what you’ve selected, you have X Revisions included in this order. If you’re unhappy with anything I’ve delivered, feedback is greatly appreciated! I want to make sure you’re happy with the final product! Any additional revisions outside of what is already included will be an additional cost.
If I have any questions about the requirements submitted, I’ll send you a message.
If you have any questions about the order, please don’t hesitate to ask! Let me know if you need anything in the meantime!

Encourage them to download the app

Newbie buyers likely don’t have the Fiverr App downloaded onto their mobile devices yet. Suggesting they do so can improve the experience for both you and your customer by making communication, revision requests, and delivery acceptance a lot more streamlined.

Explain the review process

Once your buyer accepts the delivery, now is the perfect time to ask for a review. Clearly explain the review process, letting them know they’ll be prompted to leave both a public and private review. Avoid using any manipulation or threats as explained here. It’s also best to refrain from making this request the final sentence of your closing message. Instead, opt to end with a thank you for their business and offer ongoing support if they need it.

Check in more frequently

Frequent check-ins with your buyers can help them feel more confident and reassured throughout the process. For quick projects, daily check-ins are recommended. For longer projects, provide updates at key milestones such as when you’ve started the project, are testing it, etc.

Create a one-pager

To streamline the onboarding process consider creating a one-page document outlining the need-to-knows of working with Fiverr. Include details such as the ordering process, the app, and public and private review systems. Having this on hand can help save you lots of time and make the information easier to digest for your customers.
Working with first-time buyers on Fiverr presents a unique opportunity for you to set the tone for their Fiverr experience.
