On October 12, 2022, I launched my first Fiverr Gig selling UGC (user-generated content) in hopes of raising money for our wedding. Fast forward six months, and I had worked with 200 brands from around the world and funded the entire wedding with UGC deals.
I kept at it, and within 18 months of beginning my freelancing journey, I was able to quit my 9-to-5 job. From there, I paid off all of my student loans within 22 months. Now it’s 2026, and I’ve coached thousands of content creators on how to land their first UGC deals using Fiverr as the vehicle for their success.
No matter what skill you’re offering on Fiverr, you can create momentum in your business by taking advantage of the built-in tools this platform has to offer.
These are some of the most overlooked features on Fiverr that helped me scale without burning out:
Milestone orders
If a client of yours frequently places orders with you, consider trying out the Milestone Order setup. This allows you to deliver work to them consistently and works well for both parties. With milestones, my UGC clients upload new scripts for me to film every week, and these bulk orders provide me with a more predictable monthly income. Quick responses
When I was still working my corporate job, I had limited time to respond to my Fiverr messages during the day. Setting up the quick responses was a huge help. I still use these to this day to send the same professional-quality messages out, no matter how busy I am. This is just one easy way to make sure you’re consistently providing a great service with clear communication. I even have a response saved for follow-ups so I can routinely check in with leads and close a few more deals before the end of the week. Inbox labels
It’s so important to keep track of where every lead is in your pipeline. Every conversation in my Fiverr inbox is labeled so I know what stage they’re in and can easily sort all of my messages. I have five labels:
- Info gathering: for newer messages that just came in
- Offer out: for conversations I sent an offer to
- Not for me: projects that are not a good fit
- Client: leads who accept an offer
- Following up: offers that are still pending and have received a reminder
- Future orders: for clients who leave me five stars and indicate they want to work together again
The Repeat Business Badge
There are so many badges you can earn on Fiverr, but the most compelling one, in my opinion, is the Repeat Business Badge. Brands want to know that their money will be well spent, and when they see “People keep coming back! This seller has many repeat buyers” next to your name, they’re convinced.
Don’t get too distracted with earning other ranks—those will come with time. Instead, set your focus on turning every new client into a repeat customer. This will take you farther than you could ever imagine.
Beyond the built-in Fiverr tools, these are some additional underrated strategies that helped me find success:
Print out a tracker
Printing out a tracker and taping it to my wall was a game-changer for me when it came to hitting my wedding goal so quickly. I found an image of a mason jar, and every time I got a new Fiverr order, I would use a pencil to shade in more of the jar. It was surprisingly motivating to have a physical reminder by my desk of how close I was getting to my goal.
I highly recommend printing out a sheet to color in as you work towards your goals.
Community
The best thing I ever did for my UGC business was find other UGC creators who were building the same thing as me. I’ve recently gone to a few in-person meetups, including an event at Fiverr’s NYC office. Getting the chance to connect with other creatives who know what it’s like to balance family and entrepreneurship is so good for your mental health.
If you’re ever feeling burnt out, get into rooms with people who will spot the bottlenecks in your business and reignite your passion for your craft. Remember that you can lean on community.
I tell my students all the time that you’re either overwhelmed or you’re organized… there’s no in between. It’s worth it to set up systems that support your growth as a freelancer, and I’m grateful Fiverr had everything I needed to succeed.
