What does it mean to be Top Rated?
Top Rated is the level we award to freelancers who've consistently proven they deliver excellent work and give clients a genuinely great experience. It comes with a badge on your profile, plus perks like Early Payouts and the ability to publish more services. It also helps you establish trust amongst clients before they even message you, which could serve as an extra push to hire you. What does it take to become Top Rated?
Before you’re even in the conversation to be considered for Top Rated status, you must reach at least the following:
Hitting these numbers is the prerequisite to being considered, but it by no means guarantees TRS promotion. Unlike Level 1 and Level 2, Top Rated isn’t automatically granted. Instead, it requires a comprehensive manual review by our evaluation team, and, depending on your subcategory, you might also need to pass additional skills tests.
Beyond that, we focus evaluations on categories where demand is strongest , helping ensure the Top Rated program reflects what clients are looking for across the marketplace. But don’t get discouraged, categories in review can change since demand is always evolving. If yours isn't on the list right now, keep doing great work and stay ready for when it is. What does the evaluation process look like?
I won’t sugarcoat it: you will need patience during the process, as wait times can range from 45 to 90 days, depending on your subcategory. If you want priority vetting and to “skip the line,” I recommend joining Seller Plus Premium for that extra benefit. This will help your application get in front of an evaluator quicker, but it’s still not an overnight process. The team will need adequate time to thoroughly review your qualifications. So what are we actually looking at during review? Four things, mainly:
- Professional skills — the quality of your deliveries relative to the scope of what you offer.
- Communication and service — how responsive you are and whether you're setting clear expectations and creating a smooth client experience.
- Professional presence — how well your services and profile are structured and presented.
- Compliance — making sure your account activity lines up with our Terms of Service and Community Standards.
