Trust is what the Fiverr marketplace is built on, and ratings and reviews are at the heart of that trust. They're how clients make informed decisions on who to hire, and how freelancers build their reputation and get the recognition they've earned. That's why we're committed to protecting the integrity of our ratings and reviews system and actively enforce two key policies:
Feedback boosting:
Feedback boosting is any attempt to inflate ratings or reviews that isn't based on a real client experience. This includes coordinating with other users to place fake orders on Fiverr or soliciting and paying for reviews from outside the platform.
This behavior is actively monitored and enforced on Fiverr. Users found to be engaging in feedback boosting will be placed in a restricted status, during which they can only complete existing open orders. Following that period, they will be permanently blocked from the platform. This is not reversible.
Feedback manipulation:
Feedback manipulation involves using pressure, incentives, or coercive language to influence a client's review, whether to change, remove, or inflate it. Examples include:
- Coaching- “If you had a good experience, please leave a review.”
- Guilt tripping- “I won’t be able to feed my family if you leave me a bad review.”
- Bribing- “If you leave me a good review I will deliver something a little extra for you.”
- Threatening- “I will ruin your website if you don’t leave me a good review.”
Both of these behaviors violate Fiverr's Terms of Service and Community Standards. If you're a freelancer who earns your reviews through great work and genuine client relationships, these policies are here to protect you and the reputation you've built. Have further questions?
