Hello Fiverr Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out for assistance and to share my recent experience with my Fiverr account in hopes of finding a resolution.

What Happened:

A few days ago, my account was hacked after I mistakenly clicked on a suspicious link sent by a scammer through Fiverr messages. Despite taking immediate action by changing my password and verifying my identity, my account was flagged due to alleged location inconsistencies.

Current Situation:

  • It has been three days since I last communicated with Mia from the Fiverr support team, and I have yet to receive any response or resolution.
  • As a result of the ongoing inaction, I have started a social media campaign to highlight this issue.
  • I am the CEO and founder of Ceeprinto, a company that heavily relies on Fiverr for business operations. 

Impact:

  • My business operations are severely affected, and my team of seven people is relying on the functionality of my Fiverr account.
  • The account restriction due to location inconsistencies is unfair given my frequent travels and the recent security breach.

Request for Help:

I am urgently seeking assistance from the Fiverr community and support team to review my case and restore my account access. The lack of communication and support is causing significant distress and business disruption.

Happened to me as well few months back and I also had to reach out to them a lot of times and then finally after many tries they unflagged the account and understood that a freelancer is allowed to travel as well lol 

It makes me really sad to see this because location inconsistency flag means you cannot travel anywhere or hire a manager for managing your fiverr profile which is not fair at all! I wish someone from Fiverr help you!

Wow! A person like you Asfar whose company is famous in Pakistan can get a flag on Fiverr then I wonder what will happen to us? By reading so many complains when it comes to location inconsistency, I am scared to travel to another country and who knows fiverr gives me a flag as soon as i move to another country. @Fiverr Please help him get his account back. This is too unfair!

It doesn't matter how famous you are anywhere in the world, how many sales you have. If Fiverr sees you're breaking the rules, then they will ban you. And I saw lots of people on the forum complaining about bans related to location inconsistencies. 

I travel to other countries from time to time and it's ok. I think the problem arrives when you end up switching countries every few minutes or hours. That's impossible, and obviously shows you are using some kind of VPN or you are breaking the rules.

From what I've seen from past cases similar to yours, the affected account gets suspended initially. They'll reinstate your account after conducting an investigation (if you haven't done anything wrong). This process may take a while since there might be other accounts affected similarly in the queue to be reviewed.

So just be patient for them to do their due diligence before releasing your account.

On a side note, it's not a smart business practice to rely heavily on any third-party platform for business as you have no control over things like this. Take this as a learning opportunity and diversify.

What do you mean by it? You mean Pakistani accounts can never get flagged? Trust me, 80% of the sellers are Pakistani whose accounts are getting flagged because of their violations.

Just a question: Do you inform Fiverr Support about your travelling plans? I am asking as I might have to travel some other cities or country for my health checkup soon.. that's why.

Its just a TACTIC many people deploy by bringing other NEW users, seller friends or even their buyers to the forum thinking "crowd noise" will help their cause!!

Yeah I actually understood it. But you already know that nothing is gonna work. If you break the rules, then you should be ready for the punishment. (not referring to OP's case)..

So I tend to travel to another country once or twice a year. I did not travel since the new success score was implemented, but I doubt there will be any problem. You can talk with customer support just to be safe and ask them, and if you do, let me know as well. But whenever I went to other countries, I didn't really have any issues. I can only assume that location inconsistencies relate to, as I said, changing your location between two different places that are very far from another. If now I am in France for example and in 2 hours I am in California or let's say China, that is very fishy. I think it has to do with the use of VPN more than anything. If you travel from one country to another, these issues shouldn't appear. But as I said, talk with customer support, I didn't yet because I didn't have the need to do that.

There are digital nomads here on Fiverr that travel to new countries all the time so they did not get banned. That's why I think location inconsistency issues might have to do with shenanigans. We should ask OP if he used a VPN, that will clear things up.

I didn't travel after the success score system was implemented so please let me know what they tell you. But yeah, I am sure that we are fine, if we don't switch zones every few hours. Which if you travel, you don't.
