In our rapidly changing world, if you’re looking to maintain a cutting edge in your field it is important to prioritize continuous learning. This can be done through various avenues such as online courses, podcasts, and more.

So what’s your approach? How do you ensure you are continuously developing your skills and staying up-to-date in your field?

Working hard to move away from Fiverr's increasing AI insanity, since it forces me to focus on bending over backward to understand and meet the demands of a crazed robot overlord rather than focus on learning and growth.

I believe quite a lot of Fiverr's other top-rated, pro sellers are thinking the same.

I agree with you. It looks like they are trying to distract us with other topics so that we forget about what is happening now.
What kind of development can we talk about if we are forced to focus on things that make us move either backwards or in an incomprehensible direction.
After everything that has happened, many people will need to recover their psychological state first, not to mention development.

We talk about development, and instead of developing ourselves, we watch an incomprehensible AI develop in an incomprehensible way and make things worse for the sellers.

PLEASE RETHINK YOUR NEW LEVELS! You're penalizing sellers that have been with Fiverr for years! I'm assuming Fiverr's goal is to make EVERYTHING automated so they can rake in the profits with very little effort. What was wrong with your original system? Were you not making enough money? It seems your mission now is to weed out sellers with lower profits by lowering levels and overall ratings in the blink of an eye. You're making it impossible for many sellers to maintain a successful rating! You're splitting hairs with your insane stats. JUST MAKE IT SIMPLE!!!!!

I've got a few more orders to fill...then, after a 10yrs as a successful freelancer on Fiverr, it will be time to say goodbye. Sad.

Here's the best proof of that.👆👆👆

I follow and am subscribed to several 'educational' channels on YouTube (breakdowns and analyses, video essays, conference and convention panels and keynote talks, debunks and how-to, SCIENCE). Some of them are directly related to my niche, while some are a bit more on the for-fun side. Even so, even the 'for fun' ones frequently have applications outside their industry. It's something I leaned in college: No industry operates in isolation. It's all one big connected web, and what affects one WILL affect others, if in different ways on a different scale.

To borrow a quote: "Those who don't know their history are doomed to repeat it."

Since YouTube is on the 'permitted' list, here are a few channels in my list:

https://www.youtube.com/@companyman114 (~10 minute videos essays on a WIDE variety of companies)
https://www.youtube.com/@NDC (NDC Developers Conference (software & coding))
https://www.youtube.com/@Gdconf (Game Developer Conference)
https://www.youtube.com/@audiodevcon (Audio Developer Conference)
https://www.youtube.com/@PracticalEngineeringChannel (basics of everyday infrastructure design)
https://www.youtube.com/@CharacterDesignForge (drawing, character designing)
https://www.youtube.com/@HelloFutureMe (story writing)
https://www.youtube.com/@8bitMusicTheory (videogame music study)
https://www.youtube.com/@TechnologyConnections (everyday electronics)
https://www.youtube.com/@HowToCookThat (kitchen and food science)
https://www.youtube.com/@standupmaths (numbers comedian) (okay this one is almost strictly for-fun)

This is not to say I watch everything they all put out, and they're not all strictly-educational, but I think it's a decent selection and most people might find at least one of the channels interesting to them.

This is GOOD! @imagination7413 "No industry operates in isolation" is such a great perspective and reminds me of the importance of knowing everything about something and something about everything! I will dive into some of these recommendations, especially the food science one. 😋

Thanks for your comment! I assure you that our team is still listening regarding the new release. The goal of the forum is to serve as a networking and engagement site, just as much as it's to be a landing page to disseminate company updates.

We understand that the tension is high concerning our new product release, but we also want to continue creating a space for buyers and sellers on Fiverr to network, learn from other users, and engage. Thank you!

They then should know that they “broke the contact”. Releasing new system is ok, it will actually work well long term. What is not ok is adding changes retroactively when we accepted very different terms.
Would fiverr be ok if we suddenly start telling our buyers after they bought our gig that they will get less than what described in our gig? And by the way we will also deliver random things, the same as fiverr suddenly started adding random numbers to our reviews.

if they want to roll out the new system it should start clean for everyone: new and old sellers not retroactively breaking “the contract” from their side.

I spend a lot of time on Discord, where there are several groups run by coaches and creatives. I also listen to a lot of podcasts and a 'radio station' specific to my industry. I've done group classes as well as private coaching with people who've resonated with me and specialize in specific niches that I want to build skills in. There are two online courses that I have enrolled in but haven't finished; where my brain's at now, I learn better via one-on-one coaching.

It's not really field specific, but quite a few years ago I made a conscious decision to watch and listen to stuff I disagree with. An example of this is flat earth. Now to be clear I don't believe in this, and it didn't change my mind, but I think you can only challenge bad ideas if you at least understand what their point is, however misguided it may seem or actually be. It started with politics and later with business. It gives a different perspective, even if it is painful to watch sometimes lol.

Well, of course the flat earth theory is ludicrous. Everyone knows that we live on a large disc resting on the backs of four huge elephants, which in turn stand on the back of a giant turtle

It's just common sense.

This talk is both entertaining and educational (and not too jargon-filled for people who don't know computers).

And here is one on user-interface (UX) that is also interesting and has a LOT of good advice. (Advice can apply to other industries.)
