My own hosting for Game Development?

Okay, so I plan on hiring a game developer.

I would prefer to put it on my own hosting account. Is this possible?

This way if anything happens with the developer, I will still have all files and info on my own account, of course.

Can someone recommend me some game hosting companies? I would like to create a game very similiar to Silkroad Online MMORPG. 

I don't know much about game development so it's the reason I ask.

I'm going to be blunt for the sake of clarity and honesty: with only the tiny amount of detail you've provided, this sounds like a disaster in the making.

Game development tools have come a long way in the last decade, but making a good game is not easy nor cheap nor fast.

Game dev here... Don't start with an MMORPG. I know it's tempting and I'm sure you have a great idea. But please make a small game first—even if you're using a freelancer. You will learn so much you didn't even know you needed to know.
