Menu Booklet/Magazine Design

HI Creative Community,
 

I'm going to create a Client menu magazines which has 12 sides, 6 pages.

I don't know how to create artboard and how to start bcz I never done this before. 

I Want to create it in Illustrator or photoshop. 
I have got some info to a video so please check the attach picture, I'm doing it right or not?

Hi!

Pagination is one thing that may be confusing. Its been years since I've worked with that, but my advice is that you can print the pages and then crete the menu booklet in real paper so you can see how the pagination goes.
