  1. Background · Fiverr is a platform that puts buyers in touch with sellers for a fee. · Competition is fierce. As of March 2021 there are around 2.3 million sellers all competing for work from 3.4 million buyers · Those figures may look like there are plenty of buyers to go around, but bear in mind that: o Some are one offs o Some use the same sellers all the time o A significant minority of buyers come to Fiverr to get free work and to prey on new sellers Gigs · Bear in mind that nothing is guaranteed in freelance work · Please make sure you have some skills - skills that people are willing to pay for · It is not enough to remove image backgrounds through remove.bg - you need to be able to use cutting path tools at the very least. And you need to be able to use them well · Canva is all very well, but not if you're going to sell their stock images as your own · Bear in mind that what you might think of as "sharing resources" is viewed on Fiverr as theft - don't copy other people's gig descriptions and/or images. This will be reported and you may lose your account · Gig images are not aspirational - they should be your own work, not stolen from the web · If you're selling some form of writing, make sure your grammar, punctuation and spelling indicate that you can complete orders properly. While most traffic is from India and Pakistan, most buyers are from the USA. Buyers from the USA expect good English with US English spelling. · If you don't know the difference between US and UK English spelling, do some research · Do not sell translations using Google translate. Google translate is more or less ok for chatting in the inbox, but not for professional translations. Professional translations require nuance, as well as fluency · Unlimited revisions chain you to buyers for the rest of your life. Limit your revisions and charge an additional fee for revisions over and above that limit · Make sure you have an order in place before starting any work · Read the Fiverr Terms of Service - they are strictly applied Buyer Requests · Buyer requests are for buyers, not sellers. Advertising your gigs through buyer requests is a waste of everyone's time · Respond only to requests that you have the skills to complete · You don't have to use all 10 responses allowed every day - be particular about your responses Fiverr Forum · Read first, post when you have something useful to say. · "How I get more order" has been asked and answered thousands of times. Read responses and put them into practice · Fiverr and the Forum are not your family. Sellers are your competitors. Some of the experienced sellers are very kind and will try to help. Don't rely on them doing so when you post rubbish · Don't post rubbish - if you're not getting orders even though you "stay online all day and all night" that indicates staying online isn't working. Not for you, not for anyone. Stop repeating it · Posting on the forum will not get you orders. Particularly if you post rubbish · Bear in mind that in discussion, people who disagree with your opinion are not impuning your honour. Stick to the point. No name calling. · The forum is a multinational platform where everyone is equal. People of all races, genders and religions interact with each other on the forum. Treat everyone with respect and don't expect them to agree with you I haven't covered everything - no doubt others will want to add their own insights TL;DR · Sellers are not co-workers or family, they're competitors · Don't lie about your skills · Don't steal from other sellers or the web · The forum is for fun, not spam · Treat everyone with respect
  2. Hi Everyone, I have been a secret lover of Fiverr for some time now and so I thought it wise to make a post to encourage or perhaps share some Tips with everyone especially the Newbies. The intention of this post is to help settle down some common misconceptions a lot of people have about Fiverr. I hope New sellers including some level sellers will go through the pains to read and perhaps learn a few things from this. Number 1: Read And Know About The Platform I notice that a lot of sellers work on Fiverr but actually don't know a thing about the platform. It is always a good practice to have a bit of knowledge about the industry you are going to work in. With Fiverr, this means reading its terms and conditions, community guidelines, etc. When you take the time to read about it, you will find it easier to last much longer on the platform. As you can see I'm a new seller but I never signed up without reading through the vision and mission of the platform is. Number 2: Don't Play Dodgy Over time, you will get to know that integrity does pay. This means being honest at all times. This could also mean not trying to manipulate the system, buyers, or anything. If you work honestly, you will have little to worry about. Number 3: Get Rid Of The “Ranking” Mentality Let this sink into everyone's head including mine. There is no such thing as “Ranking”. Maybe it did exist, but it doesn’t anymore. There is only performance metrics but no ranking. Anyone who claims to do this or do that to rank in 24 hours is simply just deceiving you. You must understand that Fiverr is a business and so they want to make sure only the best performers represent their company. If you don't reply to messages on time, or don't deliver on time and your stats get messed up, you shouldn't expect to “Rank” as someone who is working hard. It’s common sense. 4: Do More Work To Get Ahead Like I said, Fiverr is a business and they too have expenses. This means they need money. When you work on the platform, don't focus just on making money. Focus on supporting the platform. Give your clients the best. This makes them happy and comes back. If you want to get noticed, do your job and deliver more orders. This way, you will get pushed to the front. 5: It takes time Many new freelancers join the platform and immediately think they will start getting orders straight away. No ! it could take weeks and even months for you to get your first message and it could even take months for you to get your first order. If you don’t get orders within the first few weeks or months, try advertising yourself on other platforms or social media. 6: Avoid Over Editing Your Gigs The best practice is, always gather all of your information and materials and edit at once as well as publish at once. The more you edit, the more you pull out your gigs from search results. Leave the algorithm to gather more data about you rather than provoking your gigs all the time. 7: Only The Tough Succeed Fiverr is a race. In fact, it’s a marathon. This means many people start off being very enthusiastic but they give up along the way. This is why Fiverr has a system that gets to calculates the performance of each seller. It is only those who exercise patience and persistence that end up succeeding on the platform. If you join the platform and don’t get any orders, you become sad and leave the platform, the person who has been patient will definitely take your place. This means you have just helped another person move up the ladder. Only those who are patient make it on Fiverr. 8: Some Times Will Be Quiet If orders slow down, don’t worry. This is normal and it's called seasonality. You won't always get orders back to back as others do. Just be patient and don’t be tempted to touch your gig. 9: Don’ be jealous of other sellers. It is normal to feel pressured and jealous when you find your rival with 20 orders in the queue and you feel left out. Everyone has humble beginnings. They too were once like you. Simply learn from them to understand what makes them special and learn from them. You shouldn’t be competing with others. You should be focusing on working harder. 10: Average selling price Though this isn’t stated anywhere by Fiverr, the price of your gig can make a very huge difference. As I always say, Fiverr is a business and so they want more profit. A person with a higher order value will gain a better spot much more than a person with a $5 gig. Let us give a simple illustration. If seller A sells a logo for $50 and seller B sells a logo for $5, it will take seller B to sell 10X logos in order to bring in the same amount of revenue that seller A will bring in with just 1 sale. This means if Fiverr puts a lot of sellers with $5 gig on the first page, they will take a very long time to bring in the money that higher sellers would have brought in for the same spot.

  11. I feel like there is a lack of security. I feel like I'm being stalk. I notice alot of sellers have multiple accounts to stalk you just to make sales even after you tell them you not intrested because you already found someone else because there price was better but you don't necessarily tell them you found someone better because there price. You try be nice but they just don't seem to get it and keep bugging you till you have no choice but to block them. Even when you not looking for nothing no more you still get bomb with messages from random sellers but you notice it's from the same seller because they all try bribe you with the same links. Also I notice alot sellers like to scam. Putting up ridiculous amount for offers and hoping you fall for the bait and accept it and if you do your screwed because fiverr will only give you credit in the end and I notice I get that alot with people from **** or *****. Not racist or anything and one more thing I notice alot catfishes. They figure if they predent be a female they hope you will take there offer but they all send you same links and I always get hit on fiverr. Guys from India always asking me if I have a instagram or Facebook and ask for my location and age and phone number which makes me very uncomfortable and I don't even reply to them but like all sellers they constantly bug you until you block them and then they would then make a new account to harass you all over again. I would make a new fiverr account but I don't wanna lose all my feedbacks as a seller and buyer. My username here is not the same as my fiverr account for privacy reasons.

  13. Hi Fiverr Community, I was wondering, does fiverr SEO actually work to increase the impression. I've watched many youtube videos about it. There where tonnes of tips and tricks on youtube. Does following that, actually work. Or is it a waste of time?
  14. Trying to clear your browser's cache and cookies can sometimes help, but if you still don't see a request, there are two things to keep in mind: One is that our relevant team carefully reviews each request and periodically leaves them in the buyer request area for sellers. We ask that you please check once each time for updates on these requests. The second is that the buyer request feature is dependent on the buyers. If buyers do not submit requests to your department, you will receive fewer requests than usual. Also, I see that you are currently an unleaded vendor. Please be aware that each buyer's request has a limitation of 10 unselected seller's offers before the seller's opinion is removed. It also has an effect on the offers you see. To maximize the potential of this feature, I would urge you to check back once for updates on these requests and, if available, send offers to your customers. In the meantime, I recommend visiting our Help Center and forums, where you can get a lot of tips / advice on different ways to get more sales.
  15. Hi everyone, just of curiosity am posting this poll to know how many of you demoted from seller 1/ seller2 to new seller?
  16. I have seen that some new freelancer from Bangladesh made their profile on Fiverr. but they don't get orders. one of the most important reasons is not knowing English. many buyers think that new sellers are not skillful and they don't want to give them the work. but I think buyers should talk with the new seller and justify their communication skills. and understand each other then giving him/her the work. what do you think?
