My Story: How I Fell for a Scam as a Newbie on Fiverr

When I first started on Fiverr, I was full of excitement. I had just set up my gig and was eagerly waiting for my first order. Then, it happened—or so I thought. Someone contacted me with an offer. They sent me a link that I believed was part of the order process. Little did I know, I was stepping into a trap.

. I was thrilled! However, there was one issue—I hadn’t yet added a payment method to Fiverr. That’s when the scammer told me I needed to have at least 

 in my bank account to accept the card payment. It seemed strange, but as a newbie, I didn’t question it immediately. 

As I started the process, something felt off. Why would I, as a seller providing services, need 

 just to accept a payment? That’s when I decided to pause and dig deeper. I read Fiverr’s 

 and privacy guidelines, and I realized my mistake: this wasn’t how Fiverr worked at all. Thankfully, I stopped before completing the process, but not without learning a hard lesson. 

: Never click on external links sent by buyers. They could be part of a scam. 

: Keep all messages and transactions within the platform. It’s safer, and Fiverr provides protection. 

: Familiarize yourself with the terms and conditions before diving in. It’ll save you headaches later. 

: Never share sensitive details outside Fiverr. Keep it secure! 

: Stay cautious and don’t trust offers that seem too good to be true. 

: If something feels off, investigate before proceeding. Your gut knows when something’s wrong. 

: Patience and persistence are essential. Keep working on improving your gig. 

: Learn from them and improve your approach. We all make mistakes, but they help us grow. 

: Stay consistent, and don’t lose hope. It’s all part of the journey. 

: Believe in your journey and keep working on your skills. Success is built step by step.
