AI is changing the music industry in a big way. Last week, Grammy-winning producer Timbaland introduced TaTa, his first AI music “artist." She is now signed under his new company, called Stage Zero, which focuses on AI-made music.

Timbaland, who has collaborated with major artists such as Beyonce, Madonna, and Michael Jackson, states that TaTa is more than just a digital character. He says she is a “living, learning artist" and the start of a new kind of era of music called A-Pop, short for artificial pop. He explained that with this new venture, he is not just creating songs anymore but also building systems, stories, and stars from scratch.

 to upload his demo to be processed and paired with human-written lyrics. According to him, what used to take him more than three months to do, now only takes two days.

As expected, people have very different opinions about this news. Some are excited as they think AI music is the future and can help artists work faster. Others are worried about jobs, copyright issues, and what this means for real human talent.
