I created 3 gigs the past couple days, and I've been getting about 1 message an hour from obviously botted accounts asking for my email.

I've reported and blocked about 20 of them so far.

What surprises me is that Fiverr support have not come up with a system to stop this spam.

You think they could just put up a gig to hire a dev to address it.

The spam is so bad that anytime I get a message on Fiverr now my mind immediately jumps to “yay another scammer”.
