I was excited when I got a notice from Fiverr that "Fiverr Ads" had replaced "Promoted Gigs." Finally, I thought, maybe Fiverr has taken a clue from Facebook, Google ads, X and all the other sites that thrive on big ad revenue. Maybe they have finally decided to allow us to direct where and how the ad spend would be used. There are many best practices in place already. 

While there a dozen areas you can customize the single most important is 

Age and Location: You can specify the age range, gender, and geographic location of your target audience. This allows you to reach users based on where they live. This keeps you from wasting money on people who can't read English from clicking and saying, "Give me job please, Dear."

In addition we should be able to advertise with visibility only to buyers with minimum stats on average purchase price, number of orders placed and time on platform. 

I was sadly disappointed to learn that the only thing Fiverr has changed is the name of the program. Since clicks are expensive, up to $3 each, I could never see using it again unless I could guarantee that the only people who could see my ads were: 

3. On platform over 1 year and minimum 15 completed orders 

So disappointing to see that they just wrapped a terrible service in a new name with zero improvements, especially when it could be great for Fiverr and the sellers.
