Five years on Fiverr, perfect reviews, happy clients, no cancellations or delays. The only thing I didn’t do? 

, with “Effective Communication – Negative Impact” as the only flagged issue. Support insists the AI Assistant isn’t the reason… but also can’t explain what is. I’ve lost two levels, and Promoted Gigs is on the line. This post is about that.

“Happy Fiverrsary!” email, five years on the platform

, hundreds of five-star reviews, zero cancellations, loyal returning clients, and a business built on consistent, clear, and human communication. 

It should have been a moment to celebrate.

 Instead, I was already knee-deep in support tickets, 

trying to figure out why my Success Score had quietly dropped from a solid 9 to a worrying 4

, with no warning, no complaint, and no negative review to justify it.

The only thing flagged on my dashboard? “Effective Communication – Negative Impact.”

And the only thing I’ve done differently over the past couple of months? I didn’t opt into the AI Assistant.

For those unfamiliar, the AI Assistant is Fiverr’s feature that offers to auto-respond to client messages to speed things up. 

I work in voice-over. Tone, nuance, timing, they matter.

 I’ve always responded to each message myself, making sure it fits the tone of the project and the personality of the client. 

My communication has been praised in almost every review.

 First to 8. Then 7. At 6, I contacted support. They said not to worry, that I had “room for growth” in communication. I found that odd, since I’d been doing everything exactly the same. 

I doubled down on updates, rechecked my delivery messages, kept response time low, and made sure every conversation was helpful and clear.

Still no cancellations, no issues, no changes, except one: still no AI Assistant.

That’s when the warning on my profile turned into a full-on red flag: 

“Effective Communication – Negative Impact.”

the main factor affecting my Success Score.

When I asked how that’s possible, they explained that the score is based on a complex model that compares me to others in the same category and price range.

 I asked which orders were triggering the negative impact. 

 One agent told me communication was positively affecting my score. Another told me it was the one thing dragging it down. When I pointed out the contradiction, they apologized but didn’t explain it.

All I kept hearing was that the system is 

working “as expected,” and that the AI Assistant isn’t the reason.

 Promoted Gigs hasn’t been shut off yet, but I know it’s only a matter of time. 

The Success Score doesn’t seem to acknowledge recent performance or effort in any visible way.

 It’s just a vague number that punishes in silence, 

I’m doing exactly what I’ve done for five years, and being penalized for it, with no real way to learn, adapt, or recover.

 The Assistant rolls out. I don’t use it. 

Suddenly, the one area I’ve always excelled at is dragging me down.

 Support insists it’s not related. But they also can’t offer anything else.

Not because something went wrong, that happens. But because the system gives you no way to see what, how, or why.

 Just a quiet score drop and a vague suggestion to “keep doing your best.”

And which apparently… just isn’t enough anymore.
