I've been wondering for years – and I know I'm not alone – why does Fiverr punish sellers when a buyer places an order and cancels it before anything even starts? 

Sometimes a buyer doesn't even know what they want, places an order randomly, and then cancels. Why should that ruin a seller’s ranking, or worse, lead to account restrictions? 

This system only benefits those who exploit it – scam sellers or competitors who want to harm serious freelancers. 

The Fiverr team has been asked about this issue countless times, in many different ways, over the years. But we’ve never gotten a clear or fair response. 

Just one cancellation can sometimes result in months of being restricted or even worse consequences. That’s not just unfair – it’s demotivating and harmful to hardworking sellers. 

We deserve better. We deserve protection from random and baseless cancellations.
