Before starting any order, the Order Requirements page is your opportunity to gather all the necessary information you may need when working on your order. As these requirements will serve as the foundation of the work you complete, the more clear, organized, and detailed they are, means the smoother the process will be for both you and your buyer.
When properly set up, requirements will help you and your buyer align on expectations surrounding the order process and deliverables. Further, by having your buyer outline these details early on, you can avoid misunderstandings and excessive revisions, save time, and prevent late deliveries caused by unnecessary back and forth communication. This all contributes to a positive buying experience for buyers and improves their client satisfaction.
Crafting the perfect gig requirements?
Each gig contains the same two starter questions: one asking buyers about their industry and the other asking if the order is part of a larger project. These two questions are optional and regardless if you choose to use them or not, we always recommend adding your own tailored questions based on the unique nature of your service and process.
When adding requirement questions, think of your workflow. What important details do you need to move the order along? What critical information helps you understand exactly what your buyer wants? Reflect on past orders–what questions or details could have prevented previous pitfalls? By considering each of these factors, you can craft the perfect gig requirements that improve both clarity and efficiency.
Example Requirements:
While there are no strict rules about which requirements to include, here are a few examples that can be useful across various subcategories:
- What are your expectations for this order? This is a good opportunity to have your buyer clarify exactly what they’re looking for?
- Can you send me examples of styles or other designs that you are inspired by? This gives you a clearer understanding of your buyer’s preferences and vision.
- Please upload any necessary files, such as logos, images, text documents, or style guides that are important for this project. Allows your buyer to include any supporting assets, ensuring you’re not missing any key elements before beginning.
- What will this project be used for? Knowing the project's purpose helps you tailor your work to meet their goals.
By taking the time to set up clear and organized Gig requirements, you can set the stage for a smooth ordering process and avoid miscommunication. What are some requirements you’ve added to your gigs that you found to be useful?
