  1. @vickiespencer I am not here to debate what is or isn't discriminatory. I am advocating for an efficient user interface. If you're saying you only work with Christian buyers you should say that up front so you are not wasting your time and so that it helps the audience you are targeting find you. So far three customer service reps have told me according to Fiverr's policy, if you do choose only to take projects from a specific population then you should list that in your FAQs, but that is not something they enforce, so it's a useless policy.
  2. @desmond_aubery nobody is forcing anyone to take on projects. That was not my suggestion. I am giving Fiverr useful user experience feedback and they could very simply add a search function that allows me to weed out people who won't work with me. That's the ask. Which again, is forcing the company (Fiverr) to take on the labor of informing their clients (me) up front about limitations on their scope of services. Currently, their process is completely inefficient, it asks me to reach out individually to each designer which means I will (and already have) experienced this repeatedly. It wastes my time as a small business owner.
  3. Thanks @Lena customer service has sent me to responses that read like a robot and do not actually address the issue I brought up. Another customer service rep in these forums suggested I continue reaching. out INDIVIDUALLY to each freelancer to see if they will discriminate. So far 2/3 will. This leads me to suggest that either Fiverr get serious about their non-discrimination policy and create a way to follow up with and remove discriminatory practices OR find a way for your consumer/customer (ME and others like me) to easily weed out people who are open about their discriminatory practices in the search function. I have sent that suggestion to five different customer service reps so far and none are able to respond. Please advise.
  4. @uk1000 I don't need a t-shirt designer. And your suggestion still puts the responsibility on the consumer to create a workaround for this enormous business. I am giving them a very clear and specific process improvement suggestion, frankly, they should be grateful for.
  5. @uk1000 that's not helpful. I don't need LGBTQ+ design, I need a project done by someone who does not discriminate against the LGBTQ+ community. Using your suggestion I get a ton of poor quality offerings for Pride logos and ghostwriting, and LGBTQ voiceovers. None of those are the project I need done.
  6. Thank you for acknowledging the inconvenience. And of course the global context Fiverr works in makes this an even more important user experience issue for your company. I just want to note that you apologized for the inconvenience and then instead of responding to the convenient easily programmable suggestion I made (having a search function that allows freelancers to add their dealbreakers to their profile) means I am even more inconvenienced by having to reach out to each individual freelancer about one simple ask that could be ruled out in your search functionality. I have sent three messages today to freelancers and then am waiting for response from them before I potentiallly send out three more tomorrow. You can see how this is highly inefficient for me, your client. So, to be clear, my ask is that you either a) do more than "encourage" freelancers to update their dealbreakers in a format that is clear to them and easy for your consumers to locate or b) create a search function for your consumers to automatically opt out of hiring homophobic or otherwise biased contractors on your site. Is that more clear?
  7. Hi I am adding to this thread as I don't see anyone from Fiverr has responded and I just had the same experience with a freelancer agreeing to work with us and then declining later due to the LGBTQ focus of the t-shirts we sell. It wasted my time as a business owner on a project I would like to have turned around quickly and simply. There either needs to be a way to report people breaking this policy or they need to include a way for those of us searching for freelancers to screen out people who will openly discriminate against us.
  8. Hi @vicarious1, I am curious how this was resolved for you as I am having a similar issue as an LGBTQ+ business owner. I had a freelancer waste my time by taking a project, allowing me to pay for it and then telling me he won't work with my company because we sell (G-rated) LGBTQ+ t-shirts. I think it could be useful for Fiverr either to create a clear anti-discrimination policy they require fo freelancers or create a search function for business owners to screen out people who will just waste our time. @Lena do you know if there's anything like either of those options available on Fiverr at this time? Could you update me about where to pas this feedback to ensure it is taken seriously by the Fiverr company?
  9. Hi Kesha! I am so glad you and Fiverr are celebrating different identities here. I just had the experience of hiring someone for a project and paying them only to learn later that they will not do the work because we sell LGBTQ+ messages on t-shirts (none of which are s****l in nature). I would appreciate it if Fiverr is willing to keep contractors/freelancers listed who decline work using discriminatory practices, y'all might at least ask them to list that in their freelancer profile so businesses like mine could screen them our efficiently. I wasted time waiting for this guy AND now I am hesitant to reach out to other freelancers here without knowing who is willing to take us on as a client. Is there an effective way to search for freelancers who are inclusive only? Could Fiverr create an option like that? Or does Fiverr have a policy freelancers agree to that does not allow for this kind of discrimination and perhaps I should be reporting this so I can move forward understanding Fiverr will screen out people who are unwilling to take clients based on their identity or business focus? I can't find anywhere that states Fiverrs policy about this or a reporting structure that fits this scenario. Thank you!
