Hello Fiverr Community,
I've been providing photobook services on Fiverr for the past three years, and few days ago I encountered an issue that led to my account being restricted. I'm reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced something similar or can offer advice.
Here's what happened: A buyer contacted me to create a photobook. After discussing the details, I explained my pricing, and they mentioned that other websites could create photobooks for much less. I explained that those websites use fixed templates, while I create custom photobooks to ensure they're perfect. I also mentioned that my price is $40, but after Fiverr's 20% fee, I receive less. My intention was to justify my pricing, especially since the client was comparing it to other platforms.
Unfortunately, after sending this explanation, I received an email from Fiverr stating that my account had been restricted for attempting to take work off the platform. This is definitely not what I intended, and I believe it might have been a mistake by the bot. I want to clarify that I only accept orders through Fiverr and have always rejected any offers to work outside the platform.
Moreover, I suspect the buyer might have been a spammer. After our conversation, they sent a message that triggered a notification, but the message was not visible in our chat. The notification also appeared in a different language, which raised my suspicion. I immediately contacted Fiverr customer support, but so far, I've only received one automatic response stating that my account will be disabled in 60 days. No real person has communicated with me or checked my ticket. It has been four days, and I have not received a single response from a real support person, which is very concerning.
The only time I ever share my email address with clients is when they need to send me high-quality images and data, which is essential for creating their photobook. This is always done after they place their order on Fiverr. Similarly, the only time clients share login information with me is after I complete their photobook, so I can upload the photobook details to printing services like "SnapFish," where they can print the photobook I developed for them.
I always follow Fiverr's TOS and ensure my actions align with the rules. It's disheartening to see my account restricted, especially after years of dedicated service on this platform.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Any advice on how to resolve this with Fiverr would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your support!
