  1. It seems SO incredibly, mindblowingly, ridiculously, knock-your-socks-off-simple, yet so many people seem to not get it. It's a MAJOR head-scratcher for me. I'm not trying to sound rude or mean here, when I see certain people here, I want to grab the side of their heads, look into their eyes and ask ARE YOU IN THERE!!??
  2. I remember sooooooooooooo many guys at school wearing that long black trench coat and those sunglasses, trying to look cool after that movie came out... Sorry guys, no offense but none of you are Keanu Reeves...(yes yes, I know, I sound so mean) I'll be watching it for sure, like @enunciatorsaid for me the first movie was the best but I still saw the sequels too and even though they were not the best it was still entertaining. I'm sure I'll be watching the fourth movie as well 😄
  3. I guess for this year August went somewhat slow, but no complaints. For my field I don't think I have a busy month, it just changes every week/month so I have no idea what to expect in September. I only pray that it gets cooler with less humidity, Tokyo is not the best place to be during the summer. 😅 It's hard to believe that it's almost September though, then the countdown to Halloween will start ( at least in some areas) and it'll be Christmas before you know it. Times flies.
  4. I've seen new graphic designers who are actually skilled, but unfortunately their English skills were not quite there yet. Their defense was "Our work will speak for us, it's OK if our English is not that good." Well, it's not. If I saw 2 gigs, both looked very good with amazing original samples, but one had a good description with zero grammar errors and the other had errors in them there is a HIGH chance I'll take the seller with the better English. One reason is because I get the feeling I would have less problems communicating. It's hard to get your point across at times even if both of you spoke the same language at a native level, I believe it will be even harder if the other person lacked the language skills. Second is English level etc aside, the seller did not take the time and didn't bother proofreading the description, did not ask a native/native level person to check the description. That for me is lack of professionalism. For me personally, this is the bigger reason why I would avoid a seller with poor description. IF the images or samples were blow-my-mind-and knock-my-socks-and-sneakers-off-level good, then I might go for the seller with the poor description. I kinda think that's rare though...
  5. They dangle that same bait for experienced sellers too, unfortunately. It's their way of trying to get a discount from skilled people. Luckily though, most skilled sellers don't fall for that... Sometimes those buyers tries to get a "free sample" from new sellers saying that it MIGHT lead to a long-term project. That's a red flag too!
  6. According to some online news, it's says: "season three is on indefinite hold (not technically cancelled)" Not sure what that means, but I'll try to.....well, wait for it to restart...someday!?
  7. OHHHHHHHH, I have, I have!!! I'm a biiiiit of a "true crime freak" if you will, and my friend recommended that to me. My jaw dropped when I saw Ed Kemper, the actor did a fantastic job. When I saw a glimpse of that particular guy at that one particular scene, I knew right away it was Wayne Williams...and that kinda scared my friend! 😅
  8. I'm afraid that's not gonna help, even if Fiverr DID create such a category for the spammers, I get the feeling people will still continue spamming the forum. They keep spamming because they are not aware that they are spamming, so they will continue to pop up, sadly. Again, I feel and understand your frustration 100%, but it's better if we don't bring in nationalities countries etc. I won't necessarily call it racist, but I will personally label it as racially insensitive or politically incorrect.
  9. It's a very laid-back crime show. Yeah that might sound a bit strange especially when someone gets killed in every single episode, but I kinda see it as a safe family show. Kinda like Murder, She Wrote? ( pardon my 80's reference...) If you like crime shows but want to take a break from something too serious like Criminal Minds, Death in Paradise is a good choice. 🙂
  10. I'll be 100%, I mean 1000% honest. I'd like to make it perfectly clear that I am not trying to offend anyone, but here it goes: Yes, there are many spam posts, and yes, the majority (not all of them!!) of those posts happen to be people from those 2 countries mentioned above. I hate spam posts, in fact I'm sure most people do, and as much as I FULLY admit about getting annoyed towards those people who spam, putting everyone in the same loop and creating such categories is simply wrong. There are bunch of sellers here from India and Bangladesh who never spams and are very professional, think about how they feel when they see spam posts, and this post. I'd be a bit hurt if it was me. I understand your frustration, I really, seriously do. I'm sure many people will get angry at your post, and at the same time I won't be surprised if a good number of people secretly agreed with what you suggested and would like to see such categories added to the forum. But it's just not right. It's simply, simply, wrong and it ain't gonna happen. And it shouldn't.
  11. Oh I didn't know there was a Belgian version! The one I am watching is the English version. I also enjoy Death in Paradise, so it was nice to see the same actor from Season 1 in a different show 😄
  12. First of all, GREAT intro. It took me a few seconds to realize that meteorite thingy was a piece of popcorn and once I noticed what it was, I burst out laughing. Dang, I love it when grown-@$$ adults knows how to have fun!! OK for favorite TV shows... I did enjoy Breaking Bad a lot, Game of Thrones too. I know a lot of people did not like the ending, but it still was a good show. I also enjoy watching the Walking Dead with my buddies, and it's just hilarious to see them say (they are both Japanese BTW) stuff like "Is that what it's like in America...?" all the time. In their minds, everyone in the states owns a gun AND a crossbow, and all the guys look like Norman Redus. I recently am watching the Prodigal Son, it's pretty darn good. Also Professor T. And no, he is not the cousin of Professor X.
  13. Hello, First of all, I was worried when you said you left your job, but then I read your newer posts about the gas station so I guess you're fine 🙂 In your case it seems like you have been a seller here and was quite successful, plus unlike some new sellers you actually do have the right skills so I'm assuming you already know how things work here 🙂 Maybe your past clients will find you and you'll be a TRS by next year! As @smashradio said though, your gig description has grammar mistakes, and for many buyers that is enough to say "OK, I'm not gonna ask this guy because he didn't bother proofreading his description, that means he must be unprofessional." I hope you get it fixed ASAP. Happy gigging!
  14. If you look through the entire forum, you'll see "I'm not get orders this month" posts almost every month, every year. Like @catwriter said, it's different for everyone. While some people are getting less, others are getting bombarded with orders. I myself am not that busy this month, while July was pretty busy. I won't be surprised if August remained this way.
  15. Good point. I'd like to thank my dear friend because HE is the one who suggested Fiverr to me, he is the one who encouraged me to create an account, and Fiverr helped me earn extra money and boy did it help me a lot last year during lock down. So full credit goes to my friend. Having that said though, god, or a guardian angel, or the universe, whatever it is that people want to call it, brought me and my friend together 20-something years ago, so I guess I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for that divine interference. It's not just Fiverr, he is a great person and a wonderful friend so I am grateful that I was able become friends with him so I need to thank god/angels/ the universe/ for sure. I still won't pray for orders though.
  16. It's perfectly fine to practice a certain religion, it's absolutely fine to pray/thank god for anything and asking for help every now and then. I do personally think though, you should do what you gotta do first before praying etc. Do everything you can in your power, and once that is cleared and you have no other options, then maybe you can ask for a little help from up above. Ever since the earthquake tsunami disaster that hit Japan in 2011, I go to the temple almost every month and pray for the safety of my country because I personally cannot control mother nature. There's 8 million gods in Japan, I'd like to believe one of them would be willing to listen. As for things going on here in Fiverrland, I won't ask god for help. How I do my business here is up to me. Now IF for example I got this dream buyer who showers me with simple yet fun and high-priced gigs and tips be hundreds of dollars each and every single time, THEN I'm sure I'll be thanking the business and fortune gods. Not sure what I'm trying to say here....oh well. You guys all know how I am. I'm gonna steal @alphagev's disclaimer: it's my personal opinion no disrespect intended.
  17. I love dogs too, but if I had to choose, it'll be cats. Some say cats are jerks, but I have to strongly disagree from my personal experience. I've lost count of how many cats I've adopted. They all came from the streets, skinny and sick, left to die, abandoned in a box, soaking wet in the rain, being attacked by a crow, you name it. Currently I have several at home, and here's one. My slightly chubby boy.
  18. To the OP, Vickie's list is the short version, yet it REALLY shows everything people need to know. I can go ahead and type in a muuuuuuuch more detailed version of it but I'm sure nobody would want to read it...
  19. I’m sorry, but first of all, that made me laugh out loud, and second of all, that is so cute/sweet!! Seriously though…why do not people read…
  20. I’ve messaged other sellers before to ask their opinion/help etc, I’d say in most cases they responded nicely and politely since I made sure I myself sounded polite. There was one time where I messaged someone ( a fellow translator) several years ago to ask a question, she responded in a very short message and blocked me. OK…pardon me if I sounded “spammy” to you 😲 On the other hand I’ve had sellers ( both new and experienced) messaging me asking for help/ideas/suggestions, and as long as they make their points clear and sound professional I tried my best each time to help them.
  21. I mentioned this in another thread, but I don’t mind being called “bro” ( even though I ain’t a dude) depending on the situation. In one case this guy messaged me in a very professional and polite manner, he maintained that politeness until the very end, and when I finished the order the guy was so happy he said “Thank you so much, you’re the best bro!” That made me smile, I was perfectly fine with that. In most cases people don’t bust out the bro card until several orders later, but again if I feel like I have built a good sense of trust I don’t mind it. Dear on the other hand…gosh, that one is a HUGE no-no. Ah one more thing. “Friend.” Am I the only one bothered by that? Just like bro, I don’t mind “friend” AFTER we have worked on several orders. But if I get a message like “Hello, I would like you to blah blah blah. Please give me your best price, friend.” I ain’t giving you a discount, and you ain’t my friend, bye bye.
  22. Let’s see… Get a cup of coffee. If you have munchies, even better.Start up the laptop. Before starting work, watch several Youtube videos. If I am determined enough, I will start work in less than 3 videos. In other cases I won’t get started until…10 videos later.Once I start, I’m on fire. I need SOME sound so I sometimes play rain sounds on Youtube while I work. If I am translating, I can’t listen to anything with words. It’s too distracting. If I am drawing, any random video will do. My cat Kintaro will demand attention so I’ll make sure to give him some lovin’ every now and then.I try to finish as much as I can since my work motto is “Work hard today, slack off tomorrow.” Sometimes I really lose focus and just can’t get myself to start working… when that happens I perform this ancient Japanese ritual where I dance in a circle in the garden with my cat while chanting and sprinkling holy green tea on the ground. It works each time.
  23. Yup, basically the same for me as well I think so far the biggest number of orders I’ve had from Fiverr was around 6 or so, (I know some people have more than 15 jobs in queue, for me that’s crazy and I don’t know how they handle it!!! ) I just go down the list in order. If I have a gig that needs to be delivered in 24 hours, of course I work on that first. Sometimes I go the old fashion way and use post-its to help me keep track of some gigs, but usually the Fiverr dashboard is enough.
  24. Oh no. …Can I skip the “count calories” part? Can I wait until April to do this? I’m sorry, I’m addicted to chocolate and poking my cat’s toe beans. I like the squishy feel. Sorry, I use an umbrella. …am I invited? 😉 Jokes aside, congrats!! 🍾
