  1. You know what, this reminds me when Monica Lewinsky's book came out years ago after the affair scandal. I remember going to the bookstore and there was a HUGE stack, and I think it was the fastest selling book at the time...?? At least that's what the media told me, but I didn't see anyone around me buying/reading it.

    Writer needed

Jiminy cricket, that's amazing!! (BTW I do actually have a friend who says that when he's shocked) I pause my gigs after I get 3 or 4 orders in queue (depending on the contents of course), how in the heck do you handle 30?? Do you use post-its and post them on the corner of your laptop screen? 😅 Well at least that's what I do. Good for you though, as much as I am grateful for every order I get, I'd never be able to deal with that many orders. I think the biggest number of orders I've had in queue is like....7. Hahaha. Also sorry Mike, I don't think I can help you. I suck at writing I'm afraid.
  3. My country has the imperial family too and they have their own stuff going on ( a good number of them are quite disappointing BTW from my POV) and I'm guessing that some people from the UK are not happy with what's going on back there. I have no desire to read the book but there are plenty of people talking about it, it's been on the news in Japan as well, and from what I am seeing/hearing so far, I don't think he's doing the right thing. I don't really like what the wife is doing either. I know, easy for me to say, I ain't a member of the royal family. What do I know, right? I 100% understand the "out of curiosity" part though. Maybe you can just wait until one of your friends buy it, and you can borrow it?
  4. For my repeat customers, depending on the order contents I will offer a discount. Generally speaking though, I don't. If the buyer complains I tell them that since my other buyers always pay in full, it would be unfair towards them if I gave discounts. In most cases they get it, in other cases they start to complain telling me I shouldn't charge too much, they have a limited budget, I have many orders so I shouldn't be too greedy, etc etc. I do have a list of other buyers whom I trust and I believe some of them charge less than I do, so I direct the buyers to them.
  5. I hate to admit it, but I don't think I know the song. At least the name of the song ain't ringing any bells. I'll check Youtube during my break 😅 BTW Happy New Year, my dear King! ( is it OK to use the word "dear" like that? 😜)
  6. Iiiiinteresting, because in my case when the guy started begging me to accept the cancellation he said "his little brother" accidentally placed the orders. Seriously, is that the best excuse you can come up with? It's been a few years, I hope he is a better human now. Oh we've got PLENTY bakas and henna hito here and outside Fiverr!! "Henshin" means to transform, but for some creepy people they might only see the "hen" part and ignore the rest. BTW OP, personally I think you should add at least one more sample image, your style looks very nice so you should show them off more!
  7. One of the worst experiences: It's the typical one, very picky and demanding, poor communication etc. Good news is that she didn't ask for a refund, but I decided to never accept and order from her again. The most annoying experience: Some idiot placed an order, added ALL the gig extras and then asked for a cancellation saying that he "accidentally" placed an order. I kept denying his cancellation request, demanding an apology and an honest explanation. Towards the end he was begging me to cancel the order and confessed that he was just trying to mess up my order completion rate because he was "jealous". What a pathetic human. Best experience: this one is tricky because so many of my sellers are great. They are kind, respectful, funny, basically everything you want in a buyer! So far January for me is a bit slow, I hope a nice and generous buyer contact me again soon. 😎
  8. Waaaaaay back when I first joined Fiverr, I was thrilled to find out that I was gonna get paid in 14 days! 😁
  9. That is indeed a possibility, but back when I was a teenager and was not working, my understanding was that there is this thing called "pay day" and it was usually once a month. I guess this just depends on the country/company/type of job.
  10. For me personally I'm quite surprised that a good number of people have complained about the 14 days clearance period. I've worked part time jobs/full times jobs and in most cases I don't get paid until pay day which is once a month. 14 days is lightening speed compared to that!!
  11. I have random Youtube videos playing in the background, but I tend to listen to those true crime stuff too. Recently I came across this one guy called Mr.Ballen, he covers mysteries/unsolved and solved crimes etc, he's a good one. I sometimes listen to Forensic Files as well. Other than that, coffee and munchies!! ( mainly peanut butter M&Ms)
  12. I once saw a gig where a guy was giving away birthday messages while he was ribbon dancing in bright blue spandex. It's not that people can't copy it, but it was still quite unique. Not sure if he's still around though.
  13. If you're bored, you can watch me, @newsmike and @damooch916 do the River dance. Trust me, it will be WAY better than BTS.
  14. This is my cat listening/watching the video. Judging from his face, I think he liked Mike's voice. And also I won't mind at all if my cat started stuffing jewelry in envelopes. He just needs to bring them all to me. 😎
  15. Good morning to y'all from Tokyo. I was sipping on my coffee and munching on my strawberry cream breakfast pie ( sorry, forgot to take a photo) and came across this thread before starting work. What a lovely way to start my day, reading through a helpful and informative post. I am aware that there are actually a good number of new sellers who reads everything and does everything right, but sadly most of them don't. Let's see how many "thanks for good advice" replies will appear in the next 24 hours. Ohhhhhh, I must be a rare case then! My gig starts from $5 and I tend to be on the first ( or second page) 😁😎
  16. I think the problem is that a lot of them refuse to learn... or simply don't know how and where to start..
  17. Sorry, I looked at that yellow thing up there for 2 seconds and I felt smoke coming out of my ears. Good thing I ain't a writer. If I ever make a mistake with using them pronouns, my ultimate excuse is "Oh I'm sorry, English is my second language"
  18. Dang it Jon, I have SO many complaints!! OK, not really, but I keep getting those annoying "You're a match!" message in my Inbox and the amazing thing is NONE of them are a match. Just yesterday I got the same old silly "match" message and I just clicked on it for the heck of it...and it was for a Spanish translation. I guess I'll just go back to the "delete the message without checking the contents because I know it ain't a match" method again.
  19. After reading this part, I decided to show the video to my cat too. He WAS looking at the screen for a few minutes but then fell asleep...so either he found it boring, or Mike's super sexy ASMR voice made him sleepy. I guess I'll go with the latter.
  20. This can be turned into a new drinking game. Take a shot each time you hear the word "success." 😁
  21. Heeey, I was gonna say that!! (JK) Jokes aside, this thread is getting quite interesting, I'm currently sipping on my coffee in my office booth, but wow this is nice! "Staying online is one of the easiest ways to stay busy and make someone think that they are doing something productive that will lead to orders. " That's the quote of the day, and NOW it kinda makes sense and I can understand. I guess what confuses me is that people say "stay online 24 hours" and the other respond with "OK thank you for good advice," and that makes me go "Uh, so you're not gonna question why...?" When I started over 10 years ago, I spend a few days setting up my gig, and once they were up I just left it. I got an email telling me I got an order a while later, and I'm pretty sure I was watching TV or something when the order came. I had no fear of "losing the opportunity of getting an order" by not staying online, because the beauty of online orders is that you don't physically need to be there. But I get it, I didn't join Fiverr out of desperation, so... Actually I don't mute my phone in case someone calls me for an emergency. True story, a buddy of mine called me at 3 in the morning once because he was having some kind of seizure. I ran to his apartment ( thank god he lived 5 minutes away), called the ambulance and he ended up in the hospital. Fiverr or no Fiverr, I always have my phone with me 😎 "Once in a lifetime experience!" 😃 Funny fact, the Japanese title for the movie Forrest Gump was 一期一会 for some reason.
  22. Sheesh Andy, I spat coffee on my office PC screen, why did you make me do that!!?? To answer the OP's question, a good friend of mine told me about Fiverr and I simply joined thinking it might be a good way to make a bit of extra money on the side. I had never heard of Fiverr, I didn't know anyone who was Fiverr member so to be honest I wasn't expecting much. I'm very glad I joined, that's for sure.
  23. So a LOT of us know that saying online 24 hours ( whatever that means...) will NOT bring in sales. On the other hand, sadly there are TONS of people who somehow believes(?) that will help. Many of us posted over and over again that the 24-hour-rule does nothing yet those stupid advice posts keep popping up. I mentioned somewhere that I wanted to do an interview ( and pay $5 per person) to ask HOW and WHY they think it will help. I think having an actual interview will be hard, but I had an idea. 😄drum roll please😁 I can have an essay contest!! I want people to post and let me know why they think it is a good idea. If ANYONE can come up with a logical/intelligent/well-thought-out-list along with some examples on why it's one of the "best" ways to get sales, I'll gladly place an order for them as a Christmas gift. OK, clearly I am (kind of) joking but I am quite curious and somewhat serious. Why did this trend start? Who was the first person who came up with that 💩 of an idea? I am aware of those fake Youtube "gurus" who had mentioned this silliness, but why is it that so many people think it's a good idea? Has ANYONE found success in following that rule? Now I do have the experience of not sleeping for 48 hours back in college because there was this killer assignment. Towards the end I was talking to the wall, almost fell down the stairs, I even had this strange hallucination of this silver-ish blob coming out from the floor, I kid you not. WE NEED TO SLEEP. So why oh why is it a good idea to stay online? Come oooooon, SOMEONE needs to have a good explanation.
  24. Since I'm not a gamer I don't play any games myself, but I do watch game walk-throughs. I got curious and typed in "winter horror games" on Youtube, and a decent list came out so I might check those out. Yup, I'm too scared to play those games myself but I do enjoy walk-throughs and reactions because seeing a grown man screaming like a girl trying to escape the zombie snowman is oddly entertaining. I....can't be the only one.
  25. Sorry, I went and checked your gig and I'm afraid you haven't. "hi my name is joshua and im very reliable." This is the first thing I read when I checked your profile. Notice anything? If you don't understand what I am trying to tell you, you"re not ready to work on Fiverr yet...
