  1. Update: The seller did send me the files through WeTransfer. I have the completed files ready to send to the Ingram Spark for printing. I have another children's book to be sent to an editor, but I'm not sure if I'll use the same illustrator. We'll see. Thank you everyone!
  2. Thank you everyone for your suggestions and helpful comments. I'm very hesitant to use her again, which is too bad because I liked her work and I'm surprised since she was higly rated. If I cancel, I'll have to look for another illustrator and hopefully the process will go more smoothly. I appeciate this forum group.
  3. No matter what I do, clicking the file and restarting my browser, the watermark remains. The watermark had been removed on the file that needed revisions but left on the final, accepted file. However, Fiverr support told me that the Fiverr watermark was placed on my order by the seller and I need to ask her to remove the watermark. Is this possible? Why would a seller do this when she has a "reputable" rating?
  4. I've logged out of Fiverr and logged back in but the watermark remains. I did notice that Fiverr removed the watermark from the project that I rejected and asked for revisions. They have not removed it from the final project that I accepted. I've contacted the seller asking if they could zip the file and send it to me and I'm still waiting to hear back. This is frustrating because I spent a lot of money for something that Fiverr needs to correct. Suggestions?
  5. I chose to not close my account and eventually found and used another illustrator (Eva) for my children's book and was very, very impressed. She did a great job and I hope to work with her again.
  6. I've accepted my order, gave the illustrator a 5 star review (Eva did a fab job!), and now I'm waiting for Fiverr to remove their watermark. I've contacted Fiverr asking them if they would remove it. Could someone tell me how long this takes? I'm excited to send it out for publication. Thanks.
  7. I'm extremely dissapointed with Fiverr and will be closing my account. The pricing is very, very deceptive and their pricing means nothing. When I contacted an illustrator, giving specific details for a children's book I chose the Premium service ($85) because that's what my book needed based on number of characters in the book. The illustrators premium service said 5 characters. I offered to supply a pretty decent version of what I was looking for with each page and not a lot would have changed in the pictures. As soon as I sent my question, I received a pre-planned response saying that color pictures with characters on the pages would be $50 per page and so a 10-page book would be $500. I sent an immediate response letting the illustrator know that nothing in the description indicated this and for them to delete my request for additional information. I'm currently dealing with another illustrator who seems to be doing the same thing. She said to send my illustrations with the words (basically my entire book) and what I'm looking for as well as the page size, and she'll give me a price. If I'm going to upload this myself for a printed book using her files, the size shouldn't matter since I would be the one chosing the size of the book when it's printed. I will go to Fiverr customer service with this complaint before I close my account, but I will be telling all of my author friends to steer clear from ever using Fiverr.
