  1. I've been a successful seller on fiverr for over eleven years and have had a good number of repeat clients coming back -- without any suggestions from me they do so I may add -- of around 60%.    I was a Top Rated Seller for over six years.   I'm now a level one seller.  I can't complain.  I've done good work here and am proud of my record.  I've put in seven days a week and taken off only about three or four times in all these years.

Although my sales volume has drastically gone down as a level one seller I intend to continue to provide the level of service to my clients that I always have with very fast and thorough communications and order deliveries.

  2. I see now on gigs that older reviews are shown first and reviews are not in chronological order.

Also the highlighted reviews which we could select, to display our best ones under our gig image, are gone.

There used to be the option buyers had to click on newer reviews being shown in order of when they were left.

Buyers don't get an accurate idea of when the most recent orders were if they see reviews from previous months first.

Any explanations for this, or comments on this change, are appreciated.

  3. Fiverr allows anyone at the age of 13 to sell, How will that now be possible with this form? It asks for SSN and other related things that a minor probably wont have, or just won’t be understandable.

Minors work, pay taxes, and have social security numbers.

  4. Ok, I have a unique case. I came to the States in the beginning of this year 2020 and had my account on Fiverr by the end of Jan. I haven’t gotten my SSN until end of July so I didn’t have to submit w-9 last tax season. Now what shall I do?

    Any help is highly appreciated

    Thank you

If you are a US person check Yes. Then fill out the very short form. It asks for your name address and social security number and if you will file your taxes as an individual or a corporation.

  5. I’m 15 and I have NO idea what any of this stuff means. I would have to ask my parents to put in my social security number and address and stuff, but they probably wouldn’t let me because it’s too risky to have that stuff on here, even if it’s for a good reason. I haven’t had any gigs sold either, so I haven’t gotten any money. I just kind of wish as minors we didn’t have to fill this out.

Edit: I was able to fill out the W-9 form easily XD, apparently you don’t have to put all of the things if you don’t want to 👍

I had a job at 15 and was able to pay taxes. It’s not only for over 18.

All you have to do is fill out the W9 form. You can do that.

It asks if you are a US person. It doesn’t ask your age.

  7. When I go to a hotel I am able to sign in to my fiverr account on a shared IP so I don’t see why you couldn’t share an IP with others.

I also use public hotspots sometimes at Starbucks so I don’t see a problem with it.

Probably true… however I am in the same situation sometimes when I am at a hotel for instance in a foreign country but I never connect on their wifi or anything like that … for extra safety I prefer to buy a local sim card … Using a wifi connection from a hotel or anywhere else is probably ok ( I don’t know for sure ) but I wouldn’t risk it , I’m obsessed with my account.

It’s risky I agree. I will need to find out how to make it more secure. I don’t trust VPN’s either.

Sorry but I don’t know what you are talking about. What will show when it’s time to show? This seems to be a random comment you directed at me.

  9. I don’t see an answer for this yet, and the “Form isn’t working” thread is closed, so what should US persons do if they can’t get past the address and contact page? Every box is filled out but the second address line, which doesn’t apply to my address. When I click “next” nothing happens.

I see that others are having the same issue. What do we do if we can’t get past the first page?

It sounds like something to ask customer support.

  10. It’s really not. Just pick one. Are you a US citizen or not … ?

I like to think I’m a patient person, having raised 2 ornery children (the last one was - and is - a delicate, non ornery person) … but this confusion over something so incredibly simple is totally bewildering …

Maybe they don’t understand what this is for or why they are being asked if they are a U.S. person or not.

  11. Actually, I think the issue is that no one is doing a good job of reading the original post!

Actually, I think the issue is that no one is doing a good job of reading the original post!

It says on the first page of the form are you a US person or not. That seems to be the beginning of the confusion. We have people asking how to answer that.

  12. Hello I am a 17 year old seller, and I have no idea how to answer some of these questions (ex: asking for EIN employer identification number, individual proprietor, etc), could someone help me out? Also mjensen415 said that

When Fiverr is required under applicable laws, it will send a 1099 form at the end of the year to the applicable tax authorities. Currently, this applies to US-based sellers who earned at least $20,000 in that year and had at least 200 separate orders.

But I have earned barely $200-300 and completed under 10 orders, so should I be receiving this?

Also I checked and fiverr says that anyone above 13 can become a seller. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

What do you need help with? It is correct you are a individual. Put your name address and social security number. You do need to fill it out per fiverr rules, but won’t need to pay any taxes since you will not have made over $600.

You can send customer support that question on the same ticket as your other one.

Anyone who is still confused about this should probably ask customer support. They can explain it better.

We have a long thread now about this with people still asking what they should do so it’s obvious we are not doing a good job of explaining it.

  14. Will you be earning at least $20,000 in 2020? And completed at least 200 orders? If not you will not need to fill out a W-9.

Are you sure? I understood it to say all US citizens must have a completed W9, but unless we make at $20,000 and complete at least 200 orders in 2020, Fiverr will not be sending out a 1099 form.

If in fact you are classified as a US Person*, you will undergo a short process in which you will fill in Form W-9 that contains standard business information to include your contact information, full address and tax forms.

When Fiverr is required under applicable laws, it will send a 1099 form at the end of the year to the applicable tax authorities. Currently, this applies to US-based sellers who earned at least $20,000 in that year and had at least 200 separate orders.

    You are probably right.

The tax season is considered a calendar year. We did not have a tax season that just ended. It will end at the end of 2020.

You might have meant the tax filing deadline, which was for 2019 and ended in April, although I think this year it was extended past that date.

If you will have earned at least $600 in 2020 you will still need to pay taxes but won’t be getting a 1099 from fiverr showing your earnings apparently.

  16. Follow up question requesting clarification on the “Money earned or money withdrawn” point. Are “earnings” considered to be the full amount of the order or only the revenue earned by the seller less Fiverr’s fees? In other words, if I receive a $5 order, is that considered $5 in revenue or $4 in revenue?

I know this is a tax professional question, but I’m hoping @mjensen415 or some of the other US-based sellers can offer some guidance. Thanks!

Hi you don’t need a tax professional for your first question. It is what you earned meaning what you withdraw. That is your income.

Since I always withdraw my earnings to Paypal I use their statements. Nothing else is needed. I simply copy their statements of yearly earnings to give to my tax accountant.
