  1. Me watching my seller rating go up and down for the past two weeks for reasons only the big guy in the sky knows:
  2. Lagos, Nigeria🇳🇬👋🏽♥️
  3. Hello! I know I know, this request seems a little silly but can someone explain how milestones work to me? I have a client who I've been working with for a while on his book. I usually prefer to do novels chapter by chapter but now, he's considering just making one big order (say around, 200,000 words and that's a lot of money). Problem is, I'm a student and I kinda need somewhat of a steady income flow and coupled with my school work and that's sort of project? It's going to take monthsssssss. Would a milestone order be better or do I have to convince him to stick to the bitty bits?
  4. Personally, I'd like to believe my gigs are performing better than ever. Half of my new clients are people wanting to get work written by AI redone so yayyy more work for me? Its really not difficult to spot AI generated work. There's always a generic tone and a painful amount of repetition (or well, synonyms for a repeated word). I don't see AI as a threat and feel bad for freelance writers who think they can pass it on as their original works.
  5. I think I just figured out why the spike happened. For some reason, my gig is literally the first one you see after clicking Book and eBook writing. I sure hope it stays there for a while at least!😅❤️
  6. Hi everyone! Is it just me or did anyone notice a change in statistics? Especially in the Writing and Translation category! I used to do fine with 300-500 impressions a day and maybe 5-10 clicks but recently, (the past two days) one of my gigs has going crazyyyy. I'm talking 1000-3000 impressions. It's scary, yes but I have been getting A LOT of messages (spam and real ones alike). I just wanted to know if anybody has the same experience!☺️
  7. I'm glad it went well for you. Thank you for the kitten picture!❤️
  8. It's a code word! There's in containment breach in Area 51 and your experience is needed to catch the alien... Thingy.😂
  9. The movie wasn't 'it', unfortunately. I loved the enter franchise so much and they just let me down. Sure the nostalgia was out of this world but I felt like it was missing the main plot (with most of the movie being about Neo trying to get Trinity back). I liked Zion's development and the casting as well but if this was a standalone movie without the level its predecessors had set, it would have been a huge flop. I'll probably just skip the fourth installment whenever I want to watch. 🥲💔
  10. It's 4 AM here and I'm about to go to bed.😂 Playing word games like Scrabble and Figgerit (I have this one on my split screen right now) make me feel very sleepy. I also play a bit of classic music like Phil Collins and George Michael help a lot too. I'm currently humming the tune of Careless Whispers as I type this and I've yawned twice. Goodnight/good morning 😴
  11. You're an 'expart' marketer. I'm sure you can figure it out.😍
  12. You did not 'commission' any seller to do anything. You never created an order and you should be happy for that at least. Since you've not lost any money, just move on and get a better seller.☺️
  13. You'll need to contact customer support. They'll help you remove the account so you can add a new one.☺️
  14. Something similar happened three days ago. I've been using my laptop for a few years and well, it really started acting up with the battery, slow processor and its inability to accept a windows update. I got tired of it because I could not wait until it's plugged in before I can use (due to the poor battery) so I went to buy a new laptop. Since I got the laptop, my old one has been performing decently and it hasn't even froze once! The battery that barely held up to five minutes can last about an hour now. I feel really bad for just giving up on it but it still has to go. I don't think its still in the open market as it was manufactured in 2010.🥲 Currently typing with the old computer because I'm watching a movie with the new one.😂😂
  15. Why on earth would you want to post more than five times in a day?!
  16. That's the one. A friend of mine gifted me his system years ago and the game was already on it. I've not been able to get over it. I have it installed on every computer I've used.😅 The microtransactions are everywhere. I try to avoid them as well and just settle for strategic games on my mobile.
  17. Well, I was a BilLiOnAiRe (🥲) on Virtual City with a lot of property and loyal citizens so I'll be revisiting that one. Probably the closest I'll ever be to politics. I'll try to play some racing games too like Blur and Asphalt even though I keep ruining my gamepads due to frustration.😂
  18. I know it's a weird question but I would like to know and I feel it would strike a good conversation! Soooo why did you pick Fiverr out of all other platforms? I'll go first! I was wrapping up my final exams and my classmates already had plans for their free year before college and well, I had zero plans. The majority opinion here is skill acquisition and I did learn some skills like plumbing and welding (my eyes were bad enough and the smoke could not make it any worse😂). Sure I got a few jobs from it and my dad wanted me to get something more 'lucrative' and I couldn't get into it because centres for those kind of skills had a lot of learners and I've never been a people's person (I'm extremely introverted and I suffer anxiety so public places overwhelm me but I'm working on it!). I did pretty well in arts class and a friend from a literature space I had recently joined needed help with a book chapter and when I did, he paid me well. My first thought was 'people actually make money from this?'. I got good connections and mainly wrote outlines and short stories for my writer friends/clients and along the line, I wanted more and that was when I started doing research because I needed an easier way to reach my target market. This was when I found Fiverr and some other platforms (I'm not sure I'm allowed to mention). I found some very difficult to use and the terms were a bit complicated as well so I finally chose Fiverr. I found this platform easy to navigate and the timing, and the payment threshold was low (I never imagined earning more than a few dollars!). The name too was catchy and with all the opportunities I could get, the 20% commission they took did not seem too bad as well! Getting started was hard because I realised my beginner level skills would not get me anywhere and I had to upgrade! Well long story short (eh, sort of) I'm enjoying my time here and I love the community. How did you find yourself here?
  19. "Butt hairs... Why?" Okay but seriously, "Why are you so lenient with us? In the Bible you were kinda like... The stereotypical African parent. What changed? Why aren't we pillars of salt or rubble like the children of Israel and the likes? Because I'm sure as hell we've done worse than they had."
  20. "If I'm not back in five minutes, just wait longer." Jim Carrey in one of his Ace Ventura movies. If I say I'll be back in five and I'm not, please come check on me.😭
  21. Oh I don't mind answering.😅 I have a friend that helps me out with jobs outside fiverr and he could finish a story with about 5000 words in like two days and I would need about a week. Compared to him, I don't think I'm that fast as I could do a thousand words in a hour or two and I don't really have the luxury of spending more than three hours a day on work (I start around 11 pm and finish by 2/3. Other activities keep me busy during the day.😭). And during those three hours, I take wayyyy to many breaks. So I guess I need some discipline when I work and I also need to work on time management.😅
  22. Hello fellow community members! So I delivered a finished work a while ago and believe me, I have never felt this relieved since I saw a B in my O Levels. This is not the first time I'm completing a project (obviously) but the story behind it makes it a lot different and yes, I'm going to tell that story. On the 16th of July I got a message from a buyer. They are not new on Fiverr but this is the first time they're purchasing a Ghostwriting gig so I guess they just didn't know what to expect. We get to talking and discussing ideas and I realize they don't have a solid plan in mind so I'm like "Do you need time to go think about it or would you like to order an outline gig?". They refuse and return a few hours later with a whole mess of ideas and I had to put my phone away for a while and stretch my limbs. I just skimmed through it and sent back a quick summary so I could be sure me and the buyer were on the same page. They loved it and immediately ordered and I had to spend the first night outlining the entire thing. The thing is, I cannot work without an outline and seeing those odd details here and there creeps me out a bit and along the line, the writer's block is inevitable. Okay, back to the story! The next day, I got a dreadful message from Fiverr saying I had 14 days to verify my identity. At first, I was like 'okay', I had lost my National Identity Card a week ago and already applied for another and it would take a few days for it to be delivered, no problem right? Wrong! About two days letter, I got an email from my LGA asking me to come to the office because my ID number had not be validated (validation as in, good on paper but null on the database). So by now, I'm a bit nervous. The days are counting down and for some bizarre reason, I have a good amount of orders on queue that I have to finish and most of them are ongoing projects. Thankfully, the buyer was understanding enough and asked me to extend the time when I explained my situation to them. I go back and forth from my State office to Road Safety (I applied for a drivers license too so I had to make regular visits to monitor the process since I did not go to a conventional driving school) while trying to deliver quality work as usual. I finally get the new ID card and my license is still no where to be found and I only had about three days when I verified my identity. I had not even turned away from my computer when I got a 'verification declined' message and I'm like wait, what? As expected, I try again. Same result. I had to call the office to ask if there was something wrong with the card and the manager assured me all was right so yeah, I tried for the third time. It took a while before I get feedback but when I did, it was a bit read 'Account has been temporally deactivated...'. My soul is crushed by now and I just crawled into my bed and sent a message to CS. Surprisingly, I got a response an hour later and the kind lady says they have given another attempt and I could try to verify it again. I set my ring light right in front of my window to try to brighten the already setting sun, posed for my selfie and took the most steady picture I've ever taken of my ID card. I did not get a reply until the next day and when I did, I almost cried (I really could not imagine losing the account. I had managed to get a bit of credibility with some extra benefits like the Fiverr choice badge and early payout so it was pretty cool!). Well, I immediately got back to work and sent an update to the buyer while I continued writing orders. She took a while to answer and I had about five days left so I asked for another extension. The next day, I tested for Covid (I'm doing pretty well right now tho!) I don't get to work for another few days and the buyer is still as patient as always so I ask for another extension. Mind you, the project was just 15000 words and I may be a slow typist but I am not THAT slow! I finally delivered today with a few hours to spare because I spent a whole day editing the mess I had written during my chaotic month and I was typing this when I got a message from her. She loves it! Have you had a tough order that made you crack open a cold one when you delivered it? I'm all ears... well, eyes!
