  1. Hi, I have a sort of random question for everyone. Essentially I have never purchased from fiverr so I do not know what happens on the other side of the transaction. I am considering adjusting my page scope and introducing new gigs with a more varied background. I was wondering if previous buyers are notified when you add new gigs (kind of like how on etsy it notifies me of new items from a store I have purchased from).
  2. It was not the reviews. I actually figured it out and it was a glitch. I was using the app and while I was selecting to see the past year (which is all time for me) it kept only loading the month and not actually changing the amount it was showing. It seemed to not reload any info on the page no matter what criteria I selected. I admit it took me way to long to realise what ended up being a very obvious glitch but... here we are. Your answer made perfect sense and in any other case probably would have been the case but nope this was just the android app being buggy.
  3. So I delivered my order on time. The customer was waiting on a third-party person's opinion on something they had been unsure about earlier before approving the order-- that's fine, it happens. The buyer got back to me during the 3 days revision time frame and asked for a small change. Fiverr is now showing it as 3days late for delivery even though the product was initially given to the buyer on time and I am about to send them the update within 12hrs of the submitted revision request. It is not my fault that there was a delay on the buyer's end, nor honestly is it their fault. I do not understand why fiverr doesn't extend the deadline to include the revision period when the change request was put through as an official revision, especially when the buyer had paid for an additional revision. If I send it to the buyer without requesting more time, would this impact my on-time delivery rating? The change is so small that it feels ridiculous to have to wait for my buyer to be finished work to approve the request but I do not know how the algorithm would be affected by a "3 days late" order.
  4. The number of orders listed on the gigs page in my seller HUD does not match the actual number of orders I have received for the gig. While I would understand it not including custom orders (which would only account for a few), I do not understand why it wouldn't include all orders I have received such that I have a more accurate idea of my conversion rate. It is only showing half of my received orders. Is this happening for anyone else or just me?
  5. I completely understand taking a cut of profits made on a gig they host. I do not mind that and the 20% on that which they take feels reasonable enough. I, however, do not understand why when I get a tip that the seller felt I had earned I only receive 20% of it. Taking any portion of a tip in any industry to me feels skeevy and I just do not understand how Fiverr justifies doing it. To me this is me this is no different than a restaurant owner reaching into the tip jar at the end of the night and keeping some back for themselves. I do not understand why they call them tips if they are going to take 20% of it anyway. I feel like it's misleading for buyers who assume that the amount they are giving is going fully to their intended seller. If someone could explain to me why fiverr takes a cut I would appreciate it because from where I am sitting, it seems like fiverr is just being kind of greedy.
  6. That's super fair. To clarify, I am not always expecting a tip. I don't price with the expectation of receiving a tip. This however is the third order I've done for this person. The first time they tipped; the second time they didn't as I accidentally sent them a 12page piece with 2 typos. To me, not tipping was fair, I messed up and it took me six hours to rectify it as they let me know when I was asleep for the night. That's the only reason why I was thinking a tip may be on the table potentially however I do not expect a tip normally. Tips are just a happy bonus if they happen. Both of the previous times though I received a review, so not receiving one was a little unexpected. I am glad to hear that they can review a few days later. Obviously they are not obligated to but as a new fiverr seller a review gives me feedback on writing decisions I made so that I know where I can go and what I can improve on. On this piece in particular I took really big risks with how I went about developing the story and wanted a bit of feedback to know if what I did 'works' for the sort of backstories I write.
  7. So, I write character backstories for people. With two of my longer packages I include free revisions. On top of this I always offer then the option to pay more for one additional revisions just to make sure they are super happy with my interpretation of the character they will be roleplaying. I recently had someone pre-emptively purchase an additional revision (giving them 3 total). I delivered their order and they did not review it during the three day period because they were travelling. (As a quick aside, I found this odd in general as they also paid extra for it to be done early which... why would you do that if you don't plan on looking at it until a few days after the original deadline... but anyway I digress.) So... they ended up not using any of their revisions (even the free ones). Does the system realise that they paid extra for a service they didn't utilise and give them their money back? If that is the case does it subtract it before I get it or is it taken out of my fiverr account after I receive the full payment. If I'm being honest, I feel bad pocketing the $5 when I really didn't do anything to earn it. As a follow up question, they sent no tip and posted no review. Did they not have the opportunity to because the 3-day review window closed already? I've never ordered from fiverr before so I am not sure what exactly buyers can see and interact with.
  8. I write backstories for Dungeons and Dragon characters. I am still starting out so any project in my inbox is exciting! I just received a very larger order that is going to be a time sink. It is a gig I offer and I am excited to complete it but I'm a little apprehensive and honestly getting a bad vibe. The buyer is new to fiverr as of this month. Their profile is pretty much blank. This is their first gig ordered. Their screen name includes "troll" They chose a quite expensive package and added extras while allso wanting it as soon as possible. For context this one gig would double my total profit on fiverr. I am happy to get the experience and I am excited to do the project... but... I just wonder... after I send a PDF what actually stops the buyer from just cancelling it and keeping the PDF? What protections are in place for people who do writing to ensure they get paid in the end?
