  1. That's probably a fair point, although it's an important factor which I think sellers should be informed of. If you need to run the promotion for x amount of time before you're likely to make a sale directly through it, then it's a question of if you have the upfront capital to spend on that. Depending on a seller's price, and average sales, it could cut into an already thin margin.
  2. Hmm, I wonder if there might be some component where going from promoted to not promoted somehow deboosts you?
  3. Excellent advice tbh! As someone with a lot of mental health issues, I fully agree with all of what you say. I strive for a high quality, and at my best I can produce that. However sometimes clients come to me with a request which is technically possible, but the workload is just unrealistic given my current situation. And yet because I know I can do it, I feel guilty saying no. Something which helps me is knowing a) There are other sellers they can reach out to and b) It's okay to say no.
  4. Yeah! I'm gonna be doing more work with him, and hopefully spin out our project into some kinda larger commerical application 🙂
  5. Hi! Among some other posts here, I wanted to share an entirely positive experience. Hopefully it gives some people confidence that there are some decent people out there. A client came to me with a somewhat complex data annotation project. We had several calls, worked together (he did a lot of tagging which really helped my analytics) and by the end of it produced something he was really happy with! But, I couldn't have done it without his patience and time. If there's a couple things I've learnt, it's honesty and transparency. If you're having issues with a project, reach out to your client. Let them know what's happening, and be quick to respond to any requests or comments. A good relationship is invaluable!
  6. Hi all! Now I am a Level 1 Seller I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Calum - A PhD student, and data scientist. Most of my work is around speeding up processes, automating tasks, all that type of thing. I've started to get some okay success but I'd love to turn freelancing into a proper career! If anyone has tips as to how to improve my landing image, more grabbing graphics, titles, all that sort then I'd love to hear your input. I'm good at my part of things, but I'm not the best at advertising myself! So, I'd love to hear anyones input 🙂 Outside of my freelancing work, I'm a huge fan of cooking and baking, I spend a lot of time trying to advocate for positive progress in my communities, and a general all around 'person who wants to make good stuff.
