  1. Yes. A lot of Pakistani freelancers have jumped to upper and upper middle classes from lower and lower middle classes due to Fiverr and other online freelancing platforms. It all comes down to hardworking, the urge to learn and adapt, and right strategy and you'll change your life for the good through freelancing.
  2. I believe you (generally western buddies) earn more on a regular job than in freelancing, correct? However, freelancing for us, on this side of the shores, is something fancy and luxurious due to the difference in currency rates and cheaper living expenses. For the record, someone who earns $200-$400 a month is considered to be a middle-classy, now imagine a freelancer on these online platforms earns around $1000-$5000....... Isn't it a luxury and a blessing?
  3. The timezone thingy is funny, and silly. On another forum where I'm a top-rated seller, I was contacted by an enterprise/corporate client. I was told they're from the US but their time was only one hour ahead of mine. I behaved very rudely and told them they're a Scammer; however, my bad, their time though seemed one hour ahead of me, I had pm and they had am. 😂. However, we made it to collaboration after an hour of 'funny fight'. And guess what, they are now my major client who buy monthly.
  4. OK. I started freelancing three years ago and I'm doing quite well nowadays. Though Fiverr doesn't add more than 10-15 percent of my earnings but it still is one of the important platforms where I freelance. Coming from one of the most conservative societies, it wasn't easy for me to find a job that would match my skills and passion specifically when there's no major industry and the tiniest job market is occupied by male population, I decided, after being advised by a former friend, to try my luck in freelancing and it paid off. Due to the difference in currency rates and my full-time dedication, I earned at least 5-6 times higher than what I could've earned on a full-time, normal, job. Moreover, though, I yet to climb the ladder of success up, I am becoming a source of motivation for the younger lot in our locality. I have decided to write a book on my saga a few years later when I complete at least 10 years of freelancing about how it helped a young woman become successful and independent and what opportunities are there for women! My second plan is that when I get a steady, stable income coming in my way on a permanent basis, at least 10 percent of my earnings will go towards female education here. For the reference, I'm from the same city where the Noble Laureate, Malala belonged.
  5. I think for some of us, the badges don't matter. There are a few members who actively participate and help fellow members who I can count on my fingertips. However, there is a bunch of uninformed members who know nothing about this forum or the main site but still managed to be the 'grand masters'....
  6. There's a huge difference between the two. My personal findings are: 1. Fiverr mostly attracts buyers who look to get small jobs done while upwork hosts several major companies. 2. Fiverr is slightly easier to use than upwork. 3. You earn (I do) much more on upwork than Fiverr. 4. Upwork has several types of opportunities and you can set different profiles, consultancies, and projects while Fiverr has only gigs. 5. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
  7. Not possible and needless. You don't get work/orders based on staying online. You can only thrive by delivering quality work, staying positive, honest, and committed.
  8. Actually there's nothing you, and we all sellers, can do. But you're not alone, I have made more than 100 sales and my review percentage is in the 60s. We all love to see good, positive reviews, nice comments and tips but it's part of the business. Although it might be allowed to ask for an 'honest review', I would suggest you don't ask that even. Let the nature work on its own. Good luck.
  9. I have seen the exact same topic with same wordings a few times before. Please research the forums plus I personally dislike the word 'tricks'. It gives the impression that we may wish to deceive the buyers and make some quick bucks, which we don't.
  10. Shenanigans can't be equated with errs or making mistakes. It's a crime not to know the name of a platform that you believe will get you easy, free, quick bucks. And no, it wasn't ad hominem, I just released a rant about the perpetual usage of 'fiber' on here. I'm sure you won't implement any of the advises you got here.
  11. Someone lazy enough not to check their 'topic' of the post and misspells the very name of the platform they're trying to build their business on, doesn't deserve any success. Sorry for being rude but I couldn't mince my words seeing numerous sellers here with this laziness, obnoxious attitude.
  12. The Fiverr test is similar to an online exam. You get plenty of the resources to use and cheat. The only way to weed out the liars is to chat with them. I didn't mention the zoom because a lot of sellers find it difficult to 'speak' English due to the reason that they don't speak it on a daily basis and may find it hard to conversate. On the other hand their writing ability may be better than many of us.
  13. Let's ignore whether or not it's allowed on Fiverr! Don't you think it's dishonesty to show yourself online when you are not? I can't fathom the mettle many members here on have to ask for unethical recommendations and suggestions.
  14. I consider myself to be a liberal, secular person and would not want anyone to go through anything rough due to their religious, ethnic, or nationalistic affiliations, period. However, despite the political issues, I find it hard to consume that how the definitions of important terms such as wars, violence, the oppressor, the oppressed, and the good and the bad are different for each of us. I know I and you aren't the ones who start all the wars in the world but I believe that it's our collective responsibility to come forward and agree on such terms; a person shouldn't be robbed off their rights because of their color of the skin, their religious affiliations or the lack of it, and their nationality. Peace ❤!
  15. I see such kind of posts almost every day! There are literally hundreds of similar posts with thousands of suggestions. Instead of posting another useless thread, do us a favor and search the forum.
  16. This is a great news. Congrats. I myself learned several new things from this post about how to reach out to cs and how to push them again and again to take the corrective measures if you did nothing wrong. I hope you feel relaxed now.
  17. Great post, great advice. Unfortunately most of 'how to Fiverr' and 'how to increase impressions' kinda lot don't even implement any advice/suggestions they receive on this forum. A major chunk of them wants us to do their work for them or just be generous and purchase from them without a reason. Cheers!
  18. I'm so sorry to know that, Vickie! Life can be so unpredictable at times. You never know what's going to happen next. Let's cherish the moments we still have. Good wishes for Mia and Kenta!
  19. I'm not an experienced person in this regard as I yet to taste the death so far. Hence, I don't qualify to answer this question.
  20. Yes I knew that. What amazes me is that when buyers don't bother to leave any review, it still hits my metrics. I'm sure they don't leave any bad private review as several of them hire me again. My question actually was: a client last night told me that she loved the task. (the order was auto completed more than two weeks), and I'm sure she didn't leave any private feedback, why my stats increased? Is it a coincidence?
  21. I'm so sorry for this huge loss of yours, @vikieito! I am sure you'll carry on his legacy and make yours and your kids' life comfortable and beautiful. If I can remember correctly, you mentioned that your husband was in another country in some of your posts. Did you get a chance to meet him recently? I lost my father in 2015 and I couldn't manage to be normal for months. I thought it was the grief that was taking me back. The emptiness within was something that made me try suicide but as I'm a coward woman by nature, I couldn't attempt it. However, during different therapy sessions for my niece, I got to know that I'm also autistic like her. It shattered me but also answered so many questions that I carried for years. Why I don't feel the way others do? Why it's harder for me to connect with people? Why I find it hard to keep myself calm in huge settings? Why I don't like to attend the parties? Why life is different for me? We all do have our shares of griefs and uncertainties; however, the one who overcomes those griefs and uncertainties shall be the victorious one. Sending you hugs. ❤
  22. Warning: I don't have any proof to back my claim up with! I have noticed that whenever a client who I complete a task for doesn't leave a review, my stats begin to decline, and it happens all the time which I dunno why? However, one of my recent clients didn't bother to reply to my text where I told them I have delivered their work and they may let know if they needed any revisions. They didn't reply until last night where they told me they just got a chance to read the files and that they were amazed by the write-up. (it happens in the inbox) however, they chose not to leave a review but still my impressions, clicks, etc increased. Does Fiverr use some AI to know if the clients are happy even if they don't talk about it?
  23. Fortunately, I have never been scared of ghosts and all such. I couldn't, so far, drag my a*** to believe such things that don't make sense exist.
  24. Unfortunately yes. It's a very serious one and now stopping me from doing my daily work. I have been thinking to meet a psychologist. I'm going to meet one soon, probably this week when we take my niece to the center.
