Now, if you visit a harmful website while still logged into Fiverr, and this harmful site has malware that can hijack cookies, it can steal your cookie. Once a malicious website steals your cookie, it can gain access to your access token. This is how hackers can potentially compromise various websites using this method.

I'm thankful for your explanation. It will help me and others ensuring future security.

what I'm worried about, that could also mean Facebook can access Fiverr's cookies ?

Google can access facebook and so on... ?

Not sure if I'm understanding correctly, but that doesn't make sense.

I mean if that was possible, every 3rd party site we visit, would have accessed and logged our all sessions ?

On daily basis, we visit random blogs, doing searches, different forums... My history states, I have surfed 200+ sites in April. So do they all have ability to steal my sessions ?

Great news! My Fiverr account has been restored with the help of Fiverr customer support. I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone in this Fiverr forum community for providing suggestions and resources. A special thanks to @priyank_mod for tagging @vickieito, and thank you @vickieito for sharing your story. I also want to thank @Lena for reviewing my profile and bringing my issue to the attention of the Fiverr team. Once again, thank you to everyone for your help.

    Congrats! 🥳

It's important to understand the risks associated with visiting malicious websites. When you visit such sites, they can potentially access your browser's cookies. Every website stores important information in cookies, and if these are hijacked, it can lead to serious issues.

As web designers, we are aware of how these threats operate. However, part of our job also involves checking client reference websites, which may pose risks beyond our control. If you're unsure about cookie hijacking, I recommend researching it online to learn more about the topic

For confirmation you mean a website can access 3rd party sessions stored in your PC ?

e.g attacker site can steal Fiverr's cookie if we visit them, yes ?

Hello fiverr freelancers, Hope all are doing well.

So basically I really need help from you guys.

Actually my account has been hacked at 20th April. The client has shared a link to my inbox and told me to create a site like that.

I clicked on the link and after some moments I saw, My Fiverr account has been logged out from my mac and as well as my phone. After seeing this, I was shocked and tried to login again and fortunately I logged in.

And then after that for my security I gone to CS for getting an idea that how the scammer got the access of my Fiverr account and just wanted to know if there’s any issue with my account as the scammer got the access of my account I was a bit scared

So after that the CS has restricted my account for no reason, and asking me to fill up the last 4 number of my mobile digits, date of birth and Fiverr security questions

I provided the first 2 things which is mobile digit and the date of birth, but unfortunately I forgot the security answers and I was not able to provide that.

Then they have asked me to guess the answer, I tried but got no luck.

So in this case I told them that I can provide my Government ID which has been used to create my seller profile but they have refused that and asking me again n again for the security questions.

In this case, is there anyone can help me to bring my profile back? And also ( @Kesha ) or ( @Lena ) or ( @Seven ) anyone here who can kindly have a look into my profile and bring this back?

I am already working with my clients and as I got restricted no new clients can send me message or I can’t even sent any messages. Even my gigs are also in denied position

That means I really do not have any other scope to get more work, so as soon as possible I am trying my best to recover this profile

And just want to start where I have left

Thats all my story, I am very pleased to get the community freelancer support to stand with me and get my account back 🙁

    Thanks,
    Likhon Ahmed

After clicking link, what did you do ?

Did you enter credentials on fake site (phishing) ?

or ran any malicious software executable ?

I wouldn't believe if just clicking a link can do such.

(unless browser is outdated and was exploited, but even after its less than 1% chance)

    Hello,

Please is zoom link allowed on fiverr for online tutorials or can I have any App from Fiverr to hold my Live teaching class?

If I understood correctly, you are providing teaching services on Fiverr ?

and want to use ZOOM for classes ?

    Zoom is officially supported.

Use "Video Call" button on order page. It creates zoom meeting which is recorded and saved.

  5. Client didn't provide needed information to start order. So we canceled mutually.

Also Fiverr reset penality caused by it. But still there's some issue. See if two images make sense at same time ?

Analytics > Overview > "Order completion":

What I fear is, they added two systems, classic and latest one

and both are interfering each other.

Smells like low testing was done before releasing product. Poor developers and testers.

How would they know how to sell on when they aren't Fiverr sellers?? Food for thought.

True. But what I expect and admire only their marketing skills.

The way they grab out buyers from somewhere (not sure from where) and connect us.

Rest, probably its different working as freelancer than general employment.

and it will be early for me to comment on webinar, as i never tried before.

Yes, go to ChatGPT and ask it the questions you're interested in. You'll get the expert answers you're looking for there, and a lot quicker than waiting for Fiverr to do the same thing for you.

Strange. Actually it is my first time with their webinar, so wanted to give a try.

As those guys built fiverr, so i was expecting something special from them (not gpt based common answers).

As I'm sure some of you have noticed, buyers seem to be fewer than they once were (yes, I am aware that there are plenty of sellers who have plenty of orders). Now, according to Fiverr's own investor reports, they lost over 200,000 active buyers between '22 - '23. I'm linking to the G&M because it helpfully has an analysis of why that's bad.

We can point to the bogeyman of AI, increased cost of living, all that stuff. Or we could look at what buyers are actually telling us. This buyer signed up this month (er.. March). I declined his job 3 weeks ago because I don't offer proofreading. I didn't think anything of it. Pretty standard stuff. Most people say something like "oh ok thanks" and go off to find someone who offers the right service. However, they keep coming back complaining. Today, I got this:

    image.png.3dddb4e4881f740e9a649b76e23cdb0c.png

I'm not sure what the first sentence is referring to, and the rest just makes me want to hit the block button and - annoyingly - continue with my SPP membership just to keep RTO on to avoid an order that I declined 3 weeks ago

But that doesn't make this guy a bad buyer. He's new to Fiverr and doesn't understand how it works. He also doesn't understand the undercurrent of Fiverr's new review system. I don't know what he's been saying to the other sellers, but if it's anything like what he said to me, I don't want him anywhere near my feedback.

This buyer - IDK if you'd call him "active" in financial terms - is probably going to leave the platform after 7 sellers have basically declined to work with him. Are Fiverr's own review systems harming its bottom line by causing sellers to reject customers who could damage their profile? Is this causing otherwise "good" new buyers to leave?

    Add this to things like:

    1. Deceptive AI policies and a ton of sellers using AI to sell AI without disclosure

    2. A large marketplace of Pros that is not vetted as well as it used to be

    2a) Leading to gigs worth $5 - $25 being sold for $100s

    3) "New Buyers" being weighted more heavily in algorithms (bad reviews and good)

    4) Eerily similar responses (GPT) from a large number of sellers using AI to communicate (as recommended by Fiverr)

Fiverr's claims the the decreased number of buyers is a result of its marketing strategy, which is now targeting more upmarket people. That makes sense to me. But is Fiverr - or rather it's sellers - able to provide these upmarket visitors with the service they want?

Or, are they getting annoyed after endless rejections from sellers who don't want to take on new buyers for a combination of reasons? Let's say this guy gives up and just orders from a random person without asking (they will only reject me anyway) who does the work with AI for $200 and discovers it's AI after the fact. You think they're gonna come back?

Don't forget, some buyers are finding their profile disabled after they message a few sellers about their offer. They're invited to do this by Fiverr, but Fiverr's automation systems register this as spam and, well, it happens. Meanwhile, the QR code gang know this little restriction and just dance around it effortlessly.

Let's also not forget that all accounts now start as buyer accounts and seller accounts need to be approved. I've seen far too many CS messages effectively saying "don't worry, you can still buy!" to people who have no interest in buying. They are upset and angry because they spent 3 hours filling out their profile and get dismissed with a curt message that tells them nothing about why they've been explained, and CS doesn't explain either.

It was 200,000 buyers lost last year. This year, with the new review system in place and sellers increasingly anxious about their confusing  scores, I think it could be worse. Fiverr's own policies are creating an atmosphere of fear and mistrust, rather than facilitating an open marketplace where people get on with work.

Recently I had a buyer who posted brief. I applied, but they already selected someone else.

After 2 weeks, he came back (in tired mood) saying "its unbelievable guys with great ratings unable to do my job..."

He worked with me and was happier with end result.

So I learned Fiverr is MATCHing buyer with wrong sellers.

Good statistics are necessary, but a match is compulsory.

I mean suppose a guy working on apple, may not be good choice for orange always.

Buyer don't have that blood to vet 50-100 sellers.

Fiverr should find it for them. (NEO looks good start, but non-functional)

or they will find another platform probably.

Thank you. It does seem that people use it to showcase work outside of Fiverr, but without a clear answer my fear is getting on the wrong side of Fiverr by breaking terms of service.

If need official answer, contact CS.

Say like "Is it allowed to showcase my projects which were completed outside of Fiverr on Portfolio section ?"

Well, I hope the fiverr team know what they are doing. If I know what the client wanted (C), I wouldn't have accepted her as a client. It's a "super left" and "super woke" thing that I find incredibly provocative.

I will be interested in knowing outcomes of CS conservation.

But in my case, it never helped when buyer is opponent.

I try my best to do whatever mutually possible. Because its quite harder to prove someone wrong, specially to CS.

Its like battle. So I let them play their day, once its complete, I won't continue with them further.

Even if CS forcefully completes order, I know what you will expect in review.

    Hi guys!

Can anyone clarify whether your profile portfolio can include projects/work outside of your Fiverr orders? I can't find the answer! Hopefully the Fiverr community can help.

    Sam

    https://help.fiverr.com/hc/en-us/articles/4413134063633-Using-My-Portfolio

Per documentation, I don't find anywhere like "must use fiverr projects only"

There are some freelancers, having projects feature but with 0 order/review

Then why Fiverr gave them that option, if it was must to have Fiverr project ?

Probably its for showcasing work experience (doesn't need to be fiverr always)

Shouldn't you supposed to set availability on profile ?
    So new client's can't message.

ok I'm ok about being judged using the private rating, but it's crazy that a freelancing platform is not transparent with the freelancers...also I'm level 0 with more than 260 5 stars review and a lot of tips, so I don't understand how my private ratings can be so negative...

private ratings are sensitive and unstable because few buyers choose to fill surveys

Suppose if we have total 10 orders

    6 buyers write public reviews

and 2 out of them also write private review

What should be result ? Probably very aggressive, it may rank or dump our gigs in few days

I suggest recommending happy buyers to write private feedback

    That's workaround for now unfortunately

I wonder what led to the changes to the leveling system and all, but I'm not a fan of it, and by the looks of it, almost nobody is.

Before the implementation of the new system, I deleted every single gig and only left my most successful gig and a new gig with way fewer orders but good potential. I thought surely I would maintain my level; I was wrong. I'm not even close. I tried understanding each metric and how the new system worked so that I could improve accordingly, but you can't fix something that isn't broken. Simply put, I've only ever received one bad review, which was a 4.7. My field of work is pretty straight-forward, and you get what you're promised (unlike the competitive field of design and others where subjective factors come into play).

My success score is 4 and I've made every effort to change it. I put together a strategy from whatever I could understand from the vague CS response. I implemented the strategy, worked on my second gig, worked on client satisfaction as much as I could (I didn't offer to massage their feet), and more.

Now the question was, when can I see the results? When are the stats for my second gig going to appear? Did the vague metrics that I worked on improve? I came to this forum to get these questions answered. From what I've gathered, there is no set time when metrics are updated. There are metrics you may never know that will drown you. You won't know whether something you worked on was successful or failed.

As they say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Private rating is new core of current score

Proof: You have 5/5 positive public ratings, still 4/10 score

  17. I guess public reviews have no impact on score

(The way they shown client satisfaction and other fields etc)

They might be including private reviews or AI learning from order/inbox page

(which we won't going to be sure unless they document it properly)

  18. The one I know have habit of discount, I charge them extra {X}% even more.

Such that, even if they ask for discount, it would reduce to exactly what i want it to be. lol

Some are cheap, not budget wise, but support and demand wise within order...

So they need to be charged more as well.

Oh another famous joke at this moment: "this is longterm work"  😅

Why doesn't Fiver have a built-in voice/video function in the general chat?

Many clients need face-to-face communication to build trust and ultimately for a deal to close, and Fiverr doesn't provide that functionality.
I have accepted the fact that I have violated the TOS, and my account is restricted for 2 months...but voice/video call is a fundamental function you guys should provide, since so many clients are requesting it. And we are getting restricted for providing this service through external software...

    Anyway, have a good day.

You already a leveled seller (like you mentioned Level 2).

You should have built-in ZOOM video/voice call option button like @williambryan392 mentioned

(if your selling average is $50+ on analytics page)

Purely for discussion, but has anyone ever attempted to developed a friendship from a FIVERR business relationship? What happened?

In my case, I never attempted nor want to.

I believe family, relatives, friends and business should be treated differently.

Friendly behavior is necessary, but being a friend ? I don't think so.

They need service, and we need income.

When need is over, both say goodbye. Simple!

I think in business we need to think about profit.

When old relation becomes non-profitable compared to new ones, we simply dump it.
Because we are here to grow, not to carry out friendships even when they are burden.

(Just a thought, I'm open to hear disagreements.)

@Kesha Do you mean "Success Score" will be based on previous 2 years ratings ?

Also will this score includes both private and public ratings ?

Between how this score is being calculated ? Is it based on no. of stars ? or AI learning from order/chat conservations ? or AI learning based on text review ?

    Hello Colleagues,

Please advise me how to st up a Gig on Fiverr whereby I sell my specialised Engineering software package - all contained in an a zipped archive.

I have tried through the normal Gig interface, but can't figure out what options to select, and where to upload my zip file.

Many thanks for your kind assistance.  😊

Normally Fiverr is meant for selling CUSTOM services

It may not be good choice for selling ready made and resell-able assets/templates

For selling softwares, maybe check codecanyon, sellix etc (just a hint, you can research further)
