  1. I've been expecting my Fiverr 1099 to be "double reported" on Paypal this year as well...From what I can see with online chatter, you just have to deduct the "duplicate" amount on your expenses. Personally, Paypal is just so much easier to handle both in speed of transactions and ease of moving from one place to another. So I'll probably continue to use it, and just plan on having the extra step of subtracting the Fiverr amount lower down. Here's the link to what I found that discusses duplicate reporting on the 1099K from Paypal: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/1099-nec-vs-1099-k-same-income-not-the-same-income-on-form/00/1936362 and an excerpt for those who would rather not click links:
  2. Hi, I just wanted to give my input as a long-time TRS on fiverr....this is very detrimental to my workflow. It's already bad enough that most of my clients will place an order and sometimes not check any messages until long after the order is due (my typical turnaround is 24hrs)...even when I've repeatedly messaged them asking for more info or to correct their order pricing. So, they cause my orders to run late while I'm waiting for their responses. Now, these SAME negligent clients can ask for Review Extensions indefinitely? Are you kidding me? Brick and Mortar businesses expect me to pay at the cash register when I order a sub sandwich, not after I've eaten half of it and decided I'd have preferred it with less mayo. So, similarly to that situation: I, as the customer, would address it directly with the business, even when my payment has already been processed. I'd expect that clients on Fiverr can reach out to Sellers via Inbox and say "hey, I'm awaiting review from other team members--I know the order is about to close out, but I may have some feedback in a few days... is that okay?" That's always worked fine for me in the past. If Fiverr Sellers are not doing this kind of customer interaction, I think that's in the minority and the rest of the Sellers on Fiverr shouldn't be strung along because the bottom of the barrel is dragging the rest of our reputations. In conclusion-- we should assume good sellers are the majority. Those sellers can easily address feedback even after delivery is "auto-completed," and the buyer isn't truly affected, since they paid upfront anyways. Please consider removing this feature--or at least allow sellers to have input on when buyers can use it, and approve or deny it before the buyer applies it to an order.
  3. I just discovered a new territory I didn’t know existed thanks to Fiverr! I got an order from the “Cocos (keeling) islands” an Australian external territory. Gotta say, the first thing I did after responding to the order, was look up where the heck it was. Thanks Fiverr, for helping me expand my geographic- and nation-related knowledge! 👍
  4. No surprise here (since I offer Voiceover services with an American accent) that it’s USA, followed by Canada, and I think India is next. I do think that some of my clients claim to by from the USA, but may not actually be in reality…that’s just based on questionable grammar and suspicious use of terms like “Dear” in their messages. Does Fiverr actually vet the buyers at all when they say they’re from a certain country? I highly doubt they’d bother.
