I think there should/is a minimum threshold under which you don't pay any taxes. For example, if you earn $8,000 for the entire year, you won't pay any taxes. Or if you earn $30,000 you won't exactly pay the maximum tax of 46%, but let's say a lower one of 30%. I'm not sure though.

In some countries, there probably is. I remember when I was in the UK for a couple of years, there was an excellent climate for small or micro-company creation, with relatively low taxes for beginners and a low social charge (something like medical care and pension monthly charge). When you open a one-person company, social and health insurance contributions are incredibly high in my country. It does not matter whether you have earned anything or not; you need to pay around $500 in fixed and unchanging fees, plus taxes. It's a horrible country for a freelancer or micro-company.

I mean... you're competing with the entire world and not just a single platform, so there are way more competitors. Also, you have to pay for advertising and that can be way more than 20% of your earnings in some cases. But I do agree, having an online presence and multiple streams of income is always beneficial.

IMO, focusing on developing a global personal brand and building your independent empire beyond the confines of closed systems with stringent anti-seller policies is more advantageous. Additionally, advertising on Fiverr is necessary to rival sellers from regions with lower prices, which is far from a negligible cost. On my website, I compete with Fiverr and artists of vastly different styles. Utilising Google Ads simplifies the process of surpassing both Fiverr and these artists. The current 20% fee Fiverr charges is merely the starting point and will likely increase to 25% soon.

Alright , I am curious to find out more... Anyway in all cases it's kinda bad. Fiverr takes 20% ... taxes are very high, around 46% in my country so from a 100$ order you actually are left with 34$ ....

Correct, it is terrible! But a couple of years ago, I encouraged other sellers: DO NOT WAIT, create your website sell there and at least diversify your earnings, and in case Fiverr increases the fee (or something else happens, like DAC7), you will be independent.

Fiverr is good at first, but if you stay here forever, you are trapped: Fees and extremely high competition. It's a trap!

They (Payoneer) asked for an invoice related to a payment a client made for an artwork I completed for him two months ago. Since providing that invoice, nothing has changed. My account has remained fully functional, but the invoice has been under review for two months! This past Saturday, they sent me an email saying they blocked my account because I hadn't sent the requested invoice. I was shocked. When I logged into my account, I saw a notification indicating my balance was blocked. In the verification centre, there was no request for any additional documentation. So, I submitted a ticket and am now awaiting their response.

Honestly, it's ridiculous. How can a massive company like Fiverr rely on such a flawed payment system? There are countless payment systems far superior to the messy and chaotic Payoneer. I'm genuinely surprised they're still using this subpar service.

Fiverr, come on, you can do better. We all deserve better!

I've been with Fiverr since 2015, and their choice of payment provider hasn't evolved at all. It's truly a shame.

  6. Hi mate,

I'm in the same situation. I uploaded the documents they requested, which was absurd. They wanted me to prove that I have a website with my name and address displayed, and in addition, they asked for an invoice from Fiverr to show my source of income. However, Fiverr doesn't issue invoices, so that became a challenge.

  7. For the future person who is looking for a solution. I sent a screenshot of a summary which shows a nickname, and money earned, this typical summary that Fiverr shows in the order. They have refused it. Not sure what to do. Nothing else is accessible via Fiverr.

But they accept a link to the Fiverr profile dispute there was only a name without a surname. Ridiculous.

  8. Has anyone received an email from Payoneer to send them an Invoice and a URL to your website? Specifically these things you can see in the pictures below? How can I send them an URL to my website if I work on Fiverr and there is no such thing on Fiverr as a name or address? I could put my full name on my Fiverr profile but I do not want because I always working using Deesajn nick. Why anyone should see my details while they will be checking the data for example 20 days? Moreover. What invoice they are requesting so Fiverr does not send me any invoices about a transaction with the name and surname of my client? This is what they told me on the chat:

An invoice is simply a receipt, but unlike receipt, this contains the services you provided to your client who paid you for your freelancing services. Please provide us with an invoice is simply a receipt, but unlike receipt, this contains the services you provided to your client who paid you for your freelancing services. Our account approval department is more likely to approve a printed copy of a document than a digital one.

Please provide us with the URL of any website you use to promote/display the services or products you offer to your clients as a freelancer. If you use social media or another platform to advertise or display the services or goods you provide to clients as a freelancer, please indicate that in the questionnaire. The webpage must include at least one of the following: The text "this is to confirm my affiliation with the website". AH's first name and last name. AH's contact details.

Is there anyone here who has similar questions from Fiverr and what you have provided to them?

  10. My suggestion is to allow sellers to enable or disable video chat options for sellers:

    • not everyone is as good at speaking English as they are at writing
    • moreover, the number of different English accents is quite significant
    • not everyone may want to show their face in front of the camera. For instance, I have a less-than-ideal appearance, which makes video calls unsuitable for me
    • not everyone is mentally prepared for that kind of direct communication with the client.
