  1. You shouldn't have. I always leave a reminder when I deliver that the package only includes x amount of free revisions, and if they need any extra revision, it would be charged. That highly discourages this kind of behavior, I never had a customer ask for more than the two revisions I offer. You just were very unlucky this whole situation is coinciding with the Christmas holidays and CS are slower during these times. Try and report this with proof once again. They should do something because buyers are not supposed to use your work if they cancelled the order.
  2. Is it? Do you know exactly when it was released? Added value would be, modifying the final delivery you made a lot, or using just a part of your work in something original? Yes, this would be a solution. And even then, some sell the work of other sellers at overpriced rates, so sometimes they still keep ordering because they still win. So will I. If they already placed the order, you should have declined politely. Your gig, your terms and prices. Don't accept less just because an order. One of the worst buyers I had was precisely a reseller. He also wanted work done for free, and refused to pay when I charged for the extra work. He reluctantly agreed to receive just the delivery he had payed for, but also lectured me about empathy with the customer and that I shouldn't be refusing to do "simple work that's quick", yadda yadda, yadda yadda. But I effectively set my limits, which can make a difference in how you get treated and not make the bad experience even worse.
  3. No amount lower than 5$ is allowed on Fiverr. Also you can only enter multiples of 5. This means you will have to base your prices around this rules. So, for example, your offer should be 100 words for 5$.
  4. Does anyone know if this works with running time in the video category? I wanted to charge an amount for every minute, but can't do it. This would be ideal...
  5. Show all the tricks you know, basically. Go above and beyond. It depends on what niche you choose, too. You have to know what kind of things the buyers are looking for and how the videos are expected to look like.
  6. I've seen pages on Facebook where they sell reviews for Fiverr. Don't know why Fiverr doesn't realize this, and if they do, why they aren't making anything to stop it.
  7. I wanted to add, if OP sends images or videos for the final delivery, this is even easier to solve. Until the buyer accepts the order, they see a version of the delivery with a Fiverr watermark. If you, as a seller, cancel the order via CS, they never will have access to a version of your work without watermark. And if you start the cancellation process, the buyer can't leave any reviews, nor public or private. But, yeah, if you cancel you can't keep the money, but sometimes you gotta loose to win!
  8. Merry Christmas everyone! 🥂 Hope you all had and continue to have food in your table, health and the people you love by your side! @filipdevaerehope you get well soon! The situation seems to be difficult in China...
  9. I've read some negative reviews on your profile to get a general idea of what you do, and 3 years ago the negative reviews were... Worrisome, to say the least. 1 star ratings should not happen to you at all, is very bad for your business and is a stain that remains forever on your profile and gig. I don't really know how your competition performs on your niche, but take a look at Pro and TR sellers rather than just the ones with best ratings and see what they do. Apply some of that to your gigs. I identified 2 main issues with your Instagram gig (the one with the biggest amount of reviews): the basic package has a price and delivery time too low for people to expect and receive something better, and you're not giving a clear picture of what the final results will be in none of the packages. This explains the 1 star ratings you got. You offer no exact number of followers for your packages, because, obviously, that's impossible for you to tell. However, not all buyers are conscious of this and have unrealistic expectations about your service, like 100 followers in a day or something like that. You said yourself in a response to a customer that 1 day was not enough to see results and definitely they couldn't expect better for 15$, so why you offer that package in the first place? That's problematic in and of itself. Nevertheless for your gig, as you stated, optimum results are unattainable unless there's a lengthy plan and process. You should focus on selling that process instead, and not the results that come after it. Cheap prices lead to cheap customers. And not setting clearly the reach of what your packages offer leads to being in a gray area that relies way too much on the subjective expectations and satisfaction of buyers that don't even know how things really work (because, let's be real here, buyers wouldn't even be looking for your services if they knew what you know). Raise those prices, and sell the process and not the results, but if you still want to sell the results, under promise and over deliver. Example: in 24 hours you will get a minimum of 50 followers for 50$. Buyers may get a lot more than that amount of followers but you would achieve what you promised and because of that, the buyer won't feel they've lost their money and time. Also, some buyers complaint you were a little rough when communicating with them. Please avoid engaging in those behaviors, be respectful and calm in every moment. You can explain a buyer why they're wrong without being harsh or rude. Remember that they make or break your reputation here.
  10. I don't really know how to answer your question, but maybe your gig quality needs to be checked. Your prices are indeed very low. Maybe add a little more value to your offers for each gig? The German-English translation one, only states "translate simply from English to German" or something like that... You could definitely niche down and maybe you would get more orders... Choose a field (whether it's medical, legal, e-commerce, the one you are better at) and focus on that field. People needing "general translations" are the ones who know nothing about what they need and are more prone to leave you a negative review, which would affect your stats. Remove the unlimited revisions ASAP, unless you want to be stuck forever with a terrible buyer. Offer no more than 2-3 in each package and charge every extra revision.
  11. I disagree with this advice. Sellers of some niches need to know beforehand what the customer needs and maybe even send them custom offers. A buyer placing an order and then realizing the seller can't provide that (it happens, no matter how well and clear you gig description is) leads to a cancelled order, therefore negatively affecting the gig performance... Which would also negatively affect the possibility of becoming a promotable gig. Everything else you said is true.
  12. There is no fixing to that. The algorithm works that way. Most of the times it just matches your gig only with specific buyers' searches, that's why sometimes you won't see your gig at all if you search yourself. If you're doing everything right, there's no need to worry, gigs rotate that way. It takes some time for sellers to have a stable workflow. Be patient and don't let this discourage you.
  13. Hello! He is clearly trying to run away with your work while getting a refund, therefore not paying what he should pay you. I suggest you take screenshots and videos that prove you actually did the work. And then screenshots and videos that prove he is using your work. Refuse the cancellation. If you delivered everything according to what your gig offers, you should say exactly that when refusing the cancellation. If he still cancels (buyers can cancel even 14 days after the order is complete and your funds are cleared), contact customer support and explain briefly the situation, and make clear you did just what the order offers and that the buyer is still using your work even after he cancelled. Attach the screenshots and videos that prove your claims. Hope this helps!
  14. Yes, they do affect your profile. There are also private reviews, which mess up with your stats even more than the public ones if you get a negative one. The most effective way to avoid a bad review is to have your customers' needs clear. If your gig can't satisfy those needs or you can't complete such a job, it's better to be clear to them before chaos ensues. There are always customers who don't understand that we're not their employees nor slaves and would treat you very unfairly, asking for things out of the scope and then being mad they can't get away with that behavior. Buyers like those are a lot more likely to leave a negative review even if you did everything right and respectfully. In that case I would recommend to answer their review with your side of the story and make clear that you accomplished the tasks that were given, the problem was the buyer's attitude. If it's possible, rate them accordingly. Not all buyers deserve a 5 star rating, some are simply bad.
  15. I tried freelancing on my own and it's very hard when you don't have any contacts or possibilities to get customers. I am glad Fiverr does this part of the job that I couldn't make by myself. Also it's good that buyers have to adhere to the ToS... Even if you encounter here and there some horrible customers, it would definitely be worse if there were no guidelines (like, in real life). The refunding system it's also very helpful to buyers and sellers alike. Some people don't like Fiverr because they thought it would get them endless workflow making the bare minimum and it doesn't work like that, we still have to bring something to the table.
  16. It is made clear enough that Fiverr takes the 20% of your net earnings... I knew it upfront when signing up... Don't really know what you mean by this.
  17. Never had any customer ask for more than the 2 free revisions I offer. Some didn't ask for any at all. I am with you on that one: buyers tend to abuse the revision button a lot. I have a "please inbox me before placing your order" warning on my gig. Only had 1 customer who placed an order without asking me first, but he was straightforward with his requests and really didn't need any further communication. Knowing what the customers expect from you is key to avoid that dreaded revision request. Also when I make my final delivery, I remind them that the gig only offers two free revisions, and I encourage them to ask me to change multiple things at once in case they request one. Knowing that giving me chops of information and more requests costs them money is a perfect motivation for them to be clear and thorough 🤭
  18. Hello! I like to check gigs from time to time. One day I found a "personalized video messages from Jesus" gig. I think that would be the most original I've ever seen, and I am glad the guy is doing well with that gig... What is the most original/creative gig you ever came across?
  19. My thoughts precisely. You exposed very well why this feature is a total mistake. No seller benefits from delayed payments and orders which should be completed already. The feature is giving way too much power to buyers (who already have way too many things that favor them) unnecessarily and without sellers' consent.
  20. I think it's because the new "extend review time" feature, but I may be wrong. I remember that with the first buyer I had last year who didn't accept the order right away, it took 8 days to get the order automatically marked as completed. It also happened to me with my last order. So I'm confused now 🤔
  21. Never take communications and messages out of Fiverr. It's against Fiverr's ToS and probably a scam too.
  22. Well I've watched some recent meme videos with the English dub and basically it was very popular during the 00's, it turns out Nickelodeon bought the rights too and I think that's when it became worldwide famous! They are indeed very similar! A lot of Italians can speak Spanish to some level, and grammar is similar too so it's not that difficult. I hope you achieve fluency soon. I also hope to achieve C1 sooner than later, sometimes I'm very worried because my lessons in college require me to learn things WAY faster than I've ever did with English. It's a challenge but I always try my best. Thank you so much! I will definitely check it out these holidays. Grazie mille! È stata una sorpresa per me incontrare un madrelingua in questo foro!
  23. My native language is Spanish, I am from Venezuela. I love my language a lot and I think I am very lucky to be a native speaker, as it is somewhat difficult to learn Spanish as a second language. My second language is English. I learnt it very organically. I was a curious kid with a lot of free time, so I spent it online. Since I was 12-13 years old I simply started to consume English videos and music, and reading comments online. I would search every term or word I didn't know just so I could learn some more vocabulary. I also played games. In my country there's really nothing much English being taught in the schools (specially public schools) and I definitely didn't make any significant progress with my regular English lessons. Besides from paid courses, there's definitely not a lot of places where you can learn English properly. I even had to learn grammar organically. Flashforward to 15 year old me, I subtitled ASMR and some other videos on YouTube and fell in love with translation. I am currently studying a Major in Translation and interpretation. These forum responses and comments are my daily dose of English writing and reading practices, so that's why I became a lot more active here lately. My combination is English-Italian. So yeah, Italian is the most recent language I am trying to acquire, I've been learning it since January 2022 when I started my career. For me it's a lot easier than English was because it's very similar to Spanish, but the acquisition process is not happening as organically as with English to me. I blame my lack of exposure to Italian, there's really not a lot of Italian things online or maybe I don't know where to find them. I practice with Duolingo lessons and watch some Italian videos about grammar or news. Winx Club, my favorite cartoon when I was a kid, is originally dubbed in Italian, so I found the episodes on YouTube and use them to practice my listening. I was surprised to find out the show it's Italian! I've learnt quite a lot nonetheless, given how quick I had to learn something new every week in order to understand my lessons and pass my evaluations in college. La mia professoressa mi ha detto che sono quasi ad un livello B2! E grazie per la tua domanda, mi hai fatto ricordare quanto amo le lingue e quanto ho imparato fino ad oggi! (Translation: My professor told me I am almost at level B2 in Italian. Thank you for your question, you made me remember how much I love languages and how much I've learnt until today!)
  24. That was not my point. My point was it's poor advice to tell you to charge less when you're already paying a subscription. And it's even more nonsensical to charge little while still paying for a subscription to Fiverr.
  25. That's because they didn't make any comment nor attached a file. There's no bug. That was my point.
