  1. I've been a top-rated seller for a few years now and the time has finally come for me to consider moving my accounting from Excel spreadsheet to something more formal. I see Quickbooks, Sage, Xero etc. all advertising widely but I'm curious what do freelancers on here use? For my annual tax return, although I give a spreadsheet to HMRC (via my accountant) of every job I earn money from (including other freelance sites and client-direct), for jobs via Fiverr I don't break it down job-by-job but just what I withdraw from the site each month. So I'm curious what others do in that regard. Anyway, curious to know what you guys use!
  2. I need to vent and rant. I've been a Top Rated Seller for years with a 5.0 impeccable track record. Generating a LOT of money for Fiverr. Now suddenly my rating is dropping for no logical reason. Today, for the SECOND time in a week, I've received a 4/5 'value for money' rating... where both clients gave me a MASSIVE TIP! How is that even logical? Last week I received several 4/5 for things like 'Timely Delivery' - I delivered the job 3 DAYS EARLY!!! Again - how is that even logical? Sick to death of this. I've taken years of pride in my professionalism now this is damaging my business reputation. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" - so messing around with the system is really not good. Rant over.
  3. As per the title, is the Total earnings net of the 20% commission, or is your gross earnings before taking off Fiverr's commission? Does anyone know for sure? Thanks.
  4. Agree. I get a very annoying blue box around the input field which severely restricts my view in an already small input field. Also, it tends to hang for ages - even though I've disabled Grammarly - meaning I can't type anything. Incidentally, Fiverr - could you PLEASE create an option to completely remove Grammarly from the messaging function? It may be useful for many but for those of us that can string an English sentence together it's just, frankly, a bloody nuisance that slows up my workflow and a serious PITA. Firing off a quick two line message can often take three times longer because of this facility - even when 'disabled'.
  5. I don't like it as it effectively monopolises Shutterstock on this site. I offer background music, stock photos/videos etc. but source them from several other places as required (and a LOT cheaper than Shutterstock too). So they've clearly done an exclusive deal with Shutterstock to drive out their competition from this site. A retrograde step.
  6. Today, I received this email from Fiverr: We're changing stock-related pricing factors in your packages The pricing factors that will no longer be available in your packages are: Background music Premium quality image Stock image Stock footage If you want to offer licensed media (including images, video footage, or music) in your Gigs, you can do so through our Shutterstock integration. To include licensed media in your Gigs, switch to these pricing factors: Commercially licensed music tracks Commercially licensed video clips Commercially licensed images Basically my interpretation is that they are going exclusively with Shutterstock. Meaning if I want to offer background music/images/video as an extra, it HAS to be from Shutterstock and Shutterstock only. So my interpretation is that they've done an exclusive commercial deal between themselves effectively shutting out Shutterstock's competition. Unless I'm wrong, I find this pretty appalling and a seriously retrograde step. Shutterstock's pricing is outrageous compared to perfectly good alternatives and means pricing will go through the roof for clients. There are clumsy ways to bypass this but it really makes it all very unprofessional for a seller. I'm not sure why Fiverr is so determined to drive Top Sellers to other sites now.
  7. Yes, I've noticed the same over the last few months. I used to get several new enquiries a day for at least the last couple of years - as of a few months ago I suddenly only got one or two a week if I'm lucky. Fortunately I have lots of regular, long-term clients so I'd say 90% of my work on Fiverr now is with these clients. However, I'm really resenting paying commission for recurring work from these clients because of this. For new clients, I have moved away from marketing on Fiverr to other sites because of this. Generating new clients on Fiverr has almost dried up for me. I find it very suspicious - clearly there's something going on with the algorithm that has affected me and, clearly, others.
