  1. Become a professional athlete, scientist, actor, pilot, inventor, craftsmen, chef, and supermodel and you will always be in demand. 😆
  2. Ah, proof that even pros may turn their nose upon fellow pros! I guess this warrants the creation of a new level with a hoity-toity name like "Elite," "Expert," or the "Bee's Knees." 🐝
  3. Reputation as a seller DOES matter but forum reputation DOESN'T matter in regards to selling. Forum rep only really conveys how much time one has spent/wasted on the forum. 😅
  4. There's actually quite a LOT of forum members who have yet to get orders for many many months. The only problem is in if they are still desperately hanging around and willing to contribute to your particular thread.
  5. An ardent rule-follower might mention that you cannot call out specific users in threads, but these really aren't users but rather spam bot accounts that are being left unchecked for some reason... 🤓
  6. Not again... 😵 FORUM ACTIVITY (OR INACTIVITY) HAS NO RELATION TO ACCOUNT PERFORMANCE.
  7. The forum is a separate entity from ones main site profile. THERE IS NO RELATION BETWEEN FORUM ACTIVITY AND GIG PERFORMANCE. No one can truly be "always active" on the Fiverr site, so one who attempts to appear so is lying and most likely using ToS violating programs like browser auto-refreshers. Being online has VERY LITTLE impact on gig visibility. Instead, divert that time and energy from trying to deceive buyers into improving ones profile and gigs.
  8. Bud, you just stumbled into the wrong thread to try to peddle that 💩. This is a thread calling out the clueless "Fiverr gurus" and their terrible advice and ToS violating practices. There's pleeeenty of other threads to try to "share" that garbage to users who only reply with responses that are less than 5 words in total.
  9. This thread is an echo chamber of bad advice... 🗣️📢🔊 It doesn't really matter if you have one gig or ten if they all offer the same/similar services in the same/similar unappealing manner. It DEFINITELY doesn't matter if you "stay connect" or "stay online XX" amount of hours either... 🤦‍♂️
  10. 😬 The self proclaimed "gurus" are out for only one thing. Views. They are a massive source of misinformation or outright terrible advice for online freelancers, but unfortunately, a throng of new and desperate sellers heed their words religiously... What does ones forum profile have to do with their seller account profile? 😕 Many sellers do not even have a forum profile or just have a basic bare bones profile and don't put any extra effort into it because it is irrelevant to ones main account. MOST sellers are not active on the forum. Most Level Two, TRS, and Pro rated sellers are not active on the forum. A plethora of new desperate sellers who heed terrible advice that forum activity = seller profile visibility, and seemingly only a smattering of helpful souls and masochists are consistent forum contributors these days what with the terrible state the forum is in. For someone relatively new to the platform and the forum, it seems the impression you are leaving on a number of "forum regulars" is not one of positivity. I'll just leave by saying:
  11. This is an obvious attempt by the OP to receive feedback on what color scheme he should utilize for his own gigs while barely trying to masquerade it as a "Tips for Buyers" thread... 🤨
  12. The point was actually mentioned in one of the SP seminars (can't remember which exactly) but it was stated that there have been a number of sellers who qualified and were accepted for Pro status, but then eventually wished to be reverted back to a "regular" seller profile. Starting gig price might be a reason why, or perhaps jumping through the hurdles to maintain Pro rating (I don't really know what that entails), or some other reason. 🤷‍♂️
  13. I'm pretty sure sellers can qualify as being Pro rated out of the gate without any orders or progressing through all the former levels if Fiverr staff deem their portfolio worthy. While it is safe to assume virtually all Level 2 sellers hope to become a TRS one day, not all TRS want to become Pro rated however. 🤓
  14. Some of those users you are trying to garner their attention are no longer active on the platform. If they were, they'd probably tell you to knock that off. (Note to other forum users, this is an appropriate use of the word "knock" rather than how it is normally evoked here.)
  15. Sorry, but the only good Matrix movie was the first Matrix movie... The second one had that incredible interstate chase sequence, but the rest was meh. And the third, good grief...
  16. Smash was having a little fun, what with how freely "gurus" claim to be "experts" in anything and everything while actually not having a clue. You sure showed him by interpreting his reply as being serious, Mr. "one order completed" superstar.
  17. If you aren't a TRS, having funding clearance quickened from 14 days to 7 days from being a SP member is a huge perk. The increased analytics info, coupon offers to previous buyers, and extra 10 buyer requests have varying importance to each individual seller. Having an actual go-between from Fiverr who knows you rather than just a random member of CS may prove invaluable if one finds themself in a pickle. The consultations are (for me at least) a great way to get some insight that isn't openly visible otherwise. I don't really message my SP manager as much as I should, but fortunately, I very rarely have troubling issues that require immediate attention or guidance from a third party.
  18. A good image is preferable to a terrible video. Just keep that in mind.
  19. Although the generic perception of a "professional" seeming headshot (clean cut, solid neutral colors, suit jacket, button-up, tie, etc.) is suitable for many cases, I think that particular services, especially in the creative fields, have more leeway on what might be appropriate. An artist with a self caricature or detailed illustration can convey far more about their service and individuality than through a regular headshot. Same with graphic designers, or other highly visual or "unconventional" services. What is absolutely never appropriate is a picture stolen from the web, of a person who is not the seller, or one where the seller is blitzed out of their mind after a night of partying and is about to taste their dinner a second time around. The sheer amount of fraudulent profile pictures might even outnumber those that are authentic but "unprofessional." A more dire issue, imo.
  20. I think you've been on the forum for enough time to make an informative decision on such a practice. If you are still unsure, take a quick look at the profiles of those who promote mentioning/soliciting reviews and then take a look at the profiles of those who oppose doing so.
  21. I swear there was a thread veeery similar to this a month or two ago extolling the virtues of new sellers over experienced ones. ♻️
  22. Buyer requests is not the main way the vast majority of sellers receive their orders. It's through the strength and attractiveness of their gig pages that converts curious prospective buyers into actual purchasers. Being a brand new seller generally means overly relying on BR to try to start the ball rolling, but having appealing, professional, and coherent gigs are still critically important in regards to BR, as a request poster will very likely check your gig pages if you've piqued their interest.
  23. Strictly speaking of sound related hardware (as in things one can actually touch), a Neumann U87 Ai, Sennheiser MKH 416, Electro-Voice RE20, RME Babyface Pro, MixPre 3-II, Cloudlifter CL-1, and a bunch of expensive XLR cables whose manufacturer escapes me.
  24. Honestly, you're probably not missing much... 😐
  25. I quickly learned that most threads are not worth clicking on...
