I have a suggestion regarding the repeat business score.

To earn a repeat business score badge, everyone needs a score of 95. However, that's not fair. Some categories can't have repeat buyers.

Categories like Graphics and Social Media Posts can easily achieve a score of 95 because people often reorder such items.

But in categories like Web Development and Programming  its nearly impossible to achieve 95 score because people don't order websites/apps as frequently as they reorder graphics. The highest score I've been able to get in the programming category is 94. No matter how hard I try, it seems impossible to achieve 95.

So, the repeat business score for badges should be lower for such categories.

I mean, it's an option when necessary. But when the seller abuses extensions, obviously that comes with penalties. I guess that's the issue here.

And this new system takes into account the buyer satisfaction via extensions, it was not an issue until then. And of course, the idea is to differentiate people that deliver on time and have no extensions of revisions from those that do.

In general, this update with the levels and review changes have a single thing in common: they want to differentiate sellers more. Because right now, a lot of sellers have 5 stars and they are level 2, the majority of the active freelancers are like that. How on earth can I, as a buyer, to differentiate people that have pretty much the same ratings. Some of them are indeed very good and always deliver on time, there's little friction, others don't, but their buyers still leave 5 stars out of pity. However, those buyers leave a bad private review when asked, even if the public review was very positive.

So just because publicly you see some things, that's not the whole picture. So I understand why they changed the system, my problem is that they cover orders since you created the account, so in my case if a person randomly left a bad review 10 years ago, that affects me. Not a ton, but it does.

I never asked for an extension in the 5 years of my Fiverr career because I wasn't able to deliver work; it was the buyer who always said I needed more time because I didn't have the required resources.

If asking for an extension will negatively affect my gig, I'll simply deliver work from now on and tell the buyer it's not my problem if they need more time. Is this what Fiverr wants us to do?

How an mutual agreement between buyer and seller should affect buyer satisfaction?

By the way if the delivery extension would be a problem, the strong negative impact appeared by the voice "delivery time" not "client satisfaction". So, I'm sorry for being annoying but I can't find any sense yet..

Why does this make sense? "Out of those orders, 4 of them had an extension. And extensions seem to be problematic for the buyer satisfaction, as far as Fiverr's team said."

Why give a delivery extension if it's problematic for buyer satisfaction? We don't ask for extensions because we deliver late work; it's mostly clients who need more time. How will giving them more time negatively affect our gig? This is the most stupid decision Fiverr could come up with.

This is either a mistake, or a way to confuse buyers. Or simply a new review system that is poorly thought out and applied without going through testing, which hurts us.

Look at the following where it says:
    WHERE YOU CAN IMPROVE

Clients get confused because they basically don't read well and they think they are rating positive aspects of you! But it is quite the opposite. You can verify this by asking your client and you will see that it was an error due to the confusing system.

After that you can ask him to talk to CS to fix the review. This is all very bad.

Can't we tell buyer about updated rating system before asking them feedback? or is that a violation of Terms and conditions?

I understand that there are private reviews as well as public, but the issue is transparency.  So, if my reviews are potentially telling a different story publicly then Fiverr needs to disclose private reviews to us or get rid of them all together as this is misleading.  How can I truly improve If I don't know what the real issue is?  I am currently following all the effective communication tips in their guidelines and "room for growth" is beyond vague.  How is that calculated and how does one of my best selling gigs have "room for growth"  That's where my problem lies and what I believe ken and others may also be feeling.  I have no issue with getting feedback.  But if you are going provide me with data and then not provide me with concrete evidence as to where this is derived from and how I can honestly improve it..... thats when I get annoyed.

I agree with you. If Fiverr is all about transparency, then why take private feedback in the first place?

Has anyone complaining about not knowing how to improve tried clicking the big button that says "how to improve your gig score" ? Lots of juicy information in there!

I read that page; it's all about appeasing buyers and bowing down to their demands. For example, in order cancellation, they only talk about "Be proactive with communication," "Understand your client’s needs," and "Stay in touch throughout the process." There is nowhere mentioned what to do if a buyer is asking for work beyond the scope. Because you'll never know what kind of client you've got, even if you've talked with them for days before the order.

I have been sharing my gigs daily on LinkedIn, Twitter, Medium, and Quora since September 2023 and gaining impressions. However, I haven't managed to rank any of my gigs on the 1st page.

Is it helpful for better ranking?

Can you offer suggestions to improve my gig promotion strategy?

Sharing your gig on social media doesn't help you rank your gig. The only motive of sharing is to get clients. Once you get a client and deliver them good service, then your gig will rank. Sharing it without getting clients is pointless.

If it's so clear to you, then by all means, scroll through these threads and explain it to everyone. Tell them what part of their work the clients aren't happy about when they have nothing but 5-star reviews. Tell them what "room for growth" means for their 5-star 1000 review gig that got scored an 8 means.

You seem to be the only one who knows something the rest of us don't.

I look forward to the enlightenment

How does this make any sense?
Specifying here that those 5 bad reviews that I got, have taken place 1-2 years ago.

Most people talk about public reviews, but Fiverr also takes private reviews. If a client leaves you a 5-star review, that means they are happy with your service or they don't want to offend/disrespect you.

However, in private, they can leave their review without being afraid of being judged by you.

I worked with many clients who came to me after being disappointed by top-rated sellers. When I checked their profiles, they had only given people 5 stars.

I was supposed to turn into a top seller yesterday.... Now the testing for my most popular gig is 7. I messaged customer support and they replied that even though I have an average of 5 star rating, in their "secret evaluations" I'm not being evaluated as good. Anyone know what these secret evaluations are? What purpose does it serve to evaluate is and not give us that feedback? What they are doing now it's not feedback, I'm as in the dark about what my clients really think about me now than I was a week ago.

I'm also highly suspect of this answer because most of my clients (and I mean like 80-90%) return, so how negative can their experience really be?

"Secret Evaluation" Mean you're not going to be promoted yet, Because fiverr is all about transparency.

  9. I've read many threads on forums regarding the new system, with people complaining about their success scores not being transparent. Even top-rated sellers are getting a score of 4.

I've created this thread to provide feedback to improve the new system instead of simply complaining and trashing it.

From my perspective, the main issue is that the new system seems to be calculating the lifetime performance of gigs instead of just the last 3 months. For someone who has been on Fiverr for years, their lifetime performance average is likely to be lower than that of newcomers, which isn't fair. No amount of good work can outpace old performance.

Additionally, people are complaining about the number of active gigs. Some people's active gig scores are low, which I think brings down the overall average score. People are suggesting pausing them, but does that make any difference? Earlier, Fiverr support encouraged us to create more gigs.

Regarding top-rated evaluation: it has been said that the top-rated evaluation will be more transparent. It would be better if there were a queue like "You're 18384th in queue" for evaluation, so at least people would have an idea of where they stand in the evaluation process.

I'll continue to add genuine feedback to this thread.

  10. I believe the system is taking private feedback into consideration. It's not just calculating performance for the last three months but for the entire lifetime, which is a problem. For someone who has been on this platform for years, their average performance score will always be lower than those who are new.
