  1. Good question.

    I am a full-time freelancer.

    I work half-days six days a week.

    I take Sundays off.

I use a 7-day timer on my Gigs and typically I can “fudge” my other work (I use Fiverr as one of many sources of freelance income) around the Fiverr deadlines.

It takes good time management skills and since I did own and operate a small-town newspaper for a number of years, deadlines are a natural for me.

  2. I just told a newbie who called me “dear” that I found it creepy.

What bothers me most about it is that I am here on Fiverr in a professional, business capacity.

I know no one here well enough to call my friend.

Therefore, everyone here is technically a stranger to me.

I would NEVER refer to a stranger as dear, bro, honey, etc.

Besides, isn’t that the point of user names?

Call me by my user name if you expect me to respect you.

thanks for sharing your experience with me. can you visit my gig and tell me what should be changed? I haven’t lots of experience with fiverr.

    Sure.

You are charging $5. You are offering Unlimited Revisions, 24/7 Support and 100% Customer Satisfaction.

All of these things spell “scam” or “poor quality” to some Buyers.

    Here’s what you do:

Increase your price to at least $10, or $15.
Delete the mention of Unlimited Revisions.
Delete the mention of 24/7 Support.
Delete the mention of 100% Customer Satisfaction.

Now your Gig/Profile looks more professional. Don’t use terms that sound scammy.

Unlimited Revisions, 24/7 Support and 100% Customer Satisfaction are those kinds of terms.

    Good luck.

  4. Yup.

Social media is generally a waste of time for promoting Fiverr Gigs.

What will help you most is to have attractive Gig/Profile photos, a strong Profile and Gig Descriptions that make sense.

With the proper keywords your Gigs should appear in searches by Buyers and that is the best you can do.

It is still up to the Buyer if they like what they see and read in your Profile/Gigs.

    Good luck.

  5. You make many valid points.

As I have 40+ years experience in Media/Marketing, have owned and operated a storefront business (newspaper) and currently operate two home-based businesses (media marketing and a specialty food product) I know a bit about pricing and pricing for quality.

There have been thousands of new Sellers join this platform since COVID and self-isolation became topics of discussion.

Many have come here due to a reduction in work or job loss at the hands of the pandemic.

Sadly, a fair percentage of those new Sellers are under-qualified.

We are currently living in difficult times.

Shopping for things online at freelance platforms is going to be a crap shoot at the best of times as a result.

That doesn’t make it right, but it is what it is.

  6. Thanks for letting me know about how you get your Buyers. Since I’m new, I know that it will take time for me to get Buyers that way.

I’m curious, what made you decide to not use social media to promote your Gigs?

    Simple…

Most of my Twitter followers are bots…they don’t need my services.

Most of my Facebook followers are friends and family…they don’t need my services.

Most of my LinkedIn followers are business contacts who don’t need my services.

Most of my Instagram followers are bots…they don’t need my services.

In total, I have well over 25,000 followers/friends online.

The thing here is to not get confused about where your market is.

Buyers come to Fiverr looking for freelance services.

That, in my mind, means that the common sense thing to do is focus on building an attractive profile and offering Gigs that interest those Buyers.

If you are thinking about target marketing, the target is right here…on Fiverr.

If Buyers seek Sellers here, why promote yourself anywhere else?

    I just use common sense.

  7. I’m not sure if this will help or not.

I don’t use Fiverr as a primary source of income.

Fiverr is one of many streams of freelance income I use.

I have a website that promotes my freelance business (I’ve been a full-time freelance writer since 2016, started in 2014).

I have been hired by more than one web ad agency through that and got a lot of clients through my website before I joined Fiverr.

I also offered my services at more than one freelance platform, although now I just use Fiverr.

What I am saying here is that you can make it as a full-time freelancer, but it will take time to get there.

It also means that you may have to look at other sources in addition to Fiverr to make that happen.

    Good luck.
