  1. I’ve had a couple very bad experiences with CS but 90% of the time have had really personal, genuine guidance and intervention from them. The Fiverr site itself has a lot of bugs or broken features, and when asking for support in relation to those things it does feel a lot like “sorry but that’s just the way things are!” But typically, I’ve found the agents to be great. To be honest, as @eoinfinnegan pointed out, I think it probably has a lot to do with a high volume of nonsense tickets and an understaffed CS team.
  2. In my experience only around 65% of my buyers leave a review. Not to worry, you’ll get a grand review soon enough! 🙂
  3. low-fi beats help me focus when I’m editing, but I have to turn them off when listening back for errors beacuse sometimes the music crackles and sounds like mouth sounds 😅
  4. I have never had anyone comment on the quality of my samples, and if anyone’s been turned away by the quality - I haven’t noticed, the sales are still coming in. However, it does irritate me that the quality of my work isn’t truly shown on my gig page. I think my buyers should know that they’re getting a crisp, clear voice-over, not the slightly degraded samples on my page.
  5. I’ve always interpreted this rule (and who knows, I could be WAY off the mark…) as ‘you’re not allowed to have two gigs offering identical services’, and I figured it was to stop the influx of people who have been instructed that the key to Fiverr success is to max out your gig allowance. There are videos on YouTube (some with millions of views) that say that if you offer Wordpress Fixing as a service for example, your first job should be to make 7 gigs all offering Wordpress Fixing, to give you 7 x the chance of appearing in search. If this is the case, I get why they enforce this. The search results are already bogged down without each new seller duplicating their gig x 7. And you can see it happening, almost all of the sellers who post a “I can’t get any sales, what should I do?” post in the forum have 7 gigs, all pretty much identical. It’s a mess. But I think if you can prove that there’s a genuine reason for the difference (gender and usage in our case) it should be allowed. It’s not spammy to offer a VO gig for general commercial use, and another for Podcast Intros, and another for Voicemails… It’s entrepreneurial, and helps position you better in the search, making the experience better for the buyer. But, ya know… it’s Fiverr so who knows!? 🙂 Good grief, doesn’t that just sum up the bane of our existence 😂
  6. It’s a pretty baffling policy when you think about it. I understand that Fiverr do this to avoid fraud, but there must be a better solution than simply saying “two people from the same location/IP address can’t have an account”. In your example, your husband could be happily working away and generating more income for Fiverr, but has chosen not to in case you both lose your accounts. It just all seems a bit counterintuitive to me. It also seems like this policy is sort of subjective. Technically a male voice and a female voice ARE two different services, but your account might be shut down anyway for being too similar. I’m not really sure where they draw the line.
  7. You only have to respond within 24 hours. You sleepin for 24 hours? I don’t worry about my response time, and I don’t even check my messages after like 9 PM. It can wait til morning. Buyers can see time zones when they message you, and it will even say “this user may take a while to respond, they’re offline and it’s night where they are” or something like that. Don’t sweat it, just get back to them when you can.
  8. I record voicemail greetings as a gig. THE WORD VOICEMAIL IS PROHIBITED
