I have checked them and I don't find anything new, just only the persons I've blocked, and I'll definitely still know even if someone's chat is automatically marked as spam because it's still notified via my email.

Perhaps you didn't reply to those messages before reporting and blocking.

Please make sure to always reply to scam/spam messages before reporting and blocking them, even if Fiverr tells you there's no need to do so. A simple "no" will suffice and will only take a few seconds.

Weird that they have the exact same username and way of writing as you, but I will leave it at that. 🙂

Maybe the weird style and heavy thesaurus usage runs in the family. Probably genetic.

One of the best advices you got as a freelancer. 😉

  3. I just did a search for backlinks. None of those were in my top results. None even appeared on the first page.

On mine, they do. Although in a slightly different position than @silver_seo gets.

  4. So you’re saying that by adding extra words it prevents “gig multiples”? A recent buyer of mine was able to buy five gigs at once, which gave them 5 times the amount of words, and half the time. Thanks for your feedback.

    You’re most welcome, @songbirdcottage

    Yes, it will prevent it.

You just need to set the amount of extra words, and it’s pricing, in such a way that it discourages buyers from ordering the package with the shortest delivery time for a determined word count, and attract them to the ones that are closer to their needed amount of words.

Of course, there will always be a buyer who will still purchase the shortest delivery-time package not minding having to pay plenty more, but those kind of buyers are the least.

You should also state, big and clear, to please contact you for a custom quote when the content is above a certain amount of words.

  5. Yes, I read that thread. Thank you. I was wondering if this has ever been fixed. It’s just not fair to my regular buyers. One buyer should not be able to monopolize the time of sellers.

It hasn’t been fixed, and I’m afraid it will continue to be as it is. Being so, you need to protect yourself.

Buyers aren’t forced to contact you before ordering. Quite the contrary. Fiverr is set so buyers can order directly from you whenever they like.

  6. So on a single gig page (without the tiers) there is no option to order multiples?

So on a single gig page (without the tiers) there is no option to order multiples?

    Hi @songbirdcottage,

Yes, there is and the limit is set to 20x. The buyer will be given the option to choose the amount of multiples during the purchase of your service.

If you were going to use it, I would advise to set a low word count and a delivery time which you would feel comfortable working with in case someone ordered the max. gig multiple.

For instance, if you set the word count to 500 per gig, the max gig multiple will be 10.000 words. How long will it take you to work on that amount of words, and deliver the order, if someone purchased it? (Always add 1 extra day, just in case). That’s how you’ll set the delivery time.

The problem with this is that buyers can take advantage. On my 3 tiered gig I offer a smaller gig for five dollars, but the other tiers are more per word. Buyers can cut the order delivery time down and also the price per word by ordering multiples of the lower tier. For now all I can do is raise my prices.

Please please, does anyone know how to turn this “multiples feature” off to buyers?

The only way to turn it off is by adding the word-count option (“Add Extra Services”) to all your packages. Gig multiples will only be disabled by setting the word-count option in each package. There’s no other way.

If you decided to walk this path, you could either set a higher price for X amount of extra words, or offer less amount of extra words for the same price shown in the package. Any of these should be done in each package.

As @vickiespencer, I also charge more on my basic package and less on the other ones. But I only do it with the extra words - not by pricing them higher, but by offering a lower amount of extra words for a set price of $5.

    Hope this helps you! 🙂

  7. Ok. Then, if the order didn’t start, you can’t say there were only 4 hours left for you to deliver. Where did you get that from? The order is still in the awaiting requirement status.

There are 2 possible ways for you to solve this:

    • Message your buyer reminding her to attach the file(s) to the order for you to start working. In your message you can add that, as long as she doesn’t attach her files, the countdown won’t start and, hence, the order.

    • If you still get no response from your buyer, wait for more than 7 days, counted since the date the order was placed, and then contact CS politely asking them to please cancel the order, without affecting your stats, as the buyer never submitted the requirements.

  8. @cyaxrex @lenasemenkova So I guess I’ll find another platform which treats me better. Thanks for the input

@cyrusdeg, this is the thread I think @lenasemenkova was referring to. Please take a look at it, but especially this comment given by @mjensen415.
