I hope Fiverr reconsiders this idea of using the resolution center for any reason = conflict.

I'm a bit concerned as well.

I have had several buyers who take 2-3 days to just look over 2-300 words at a time. If I don't update them but deliver a huge chunk of text immediately, I'm potentially at risk because of not updating them. IF I update them but the time runs out, I might get dinged (from what we understand at the moment) for extending the order.

I try my best to run after buyers and get an answer as fast as possible usually, but I can't control their lives (and 'spamming' them 4-5-6 times can also be an issue, right?) It just feels a bit like there isn't really a 'right' thing to do.

Of course, for all we know, it's all metrics from the private survey, but I haven't been late in years...(but have to extend relatively often). If buyers can just say 'this gig was late' when they don't give us the info on time, that's a bit wonky as well (this is only an 'if', I haven't seen the private review form in a while.

I would like to know about the location violation thing, as I have some vague plans - now buried under the deepest of ice - to travel Europe next summer while working.

Does the New Fiverr mean that digital nomads are now persona non grata at Fiverr?

Please excuse me for daring to dream of living a life that doesn't put Fiverr at the center of it.

I'm planning to travel around a bit this year as well, at some point out of the EU. I wonder if we'll need to let CS know every time we travel...

Also might be getting an office space next month...that's gonna be kinda odd...

But like, what if it's a surprise trip or something urgent?
(... I'm hoping that this is just a weird glitch and it's related more to a low score (though again, should I hope that?) then something else, but... I'm just so confused at this point. Realistically, this could be just people using VPNs (even just by default) being flagged, but.. I'm not sure I can stick to realistic explanations at this point.

Nowadays I get complaints from de-ranked people, and I can't even find what was the cause. And to my opinion, the "rehabilitation" period lasts too long.

I think I've mentioned this before, but the biggest issue (to me) is that we're constantly sent mixed messages.

Just as an example (though of course, that COULD have been for many other reasons as I did have some cancellations that allegedly didn't affect me during that time as well) I went on break in July. Came back to little to no business. MAYBE this month will be the first month I'll make as much as last June. Maybe. I used the OOO feature and as far as I knew, it meant I was safe. Later, we were told that the feature was improved, and NOW it's safe. (do you see where I'm going?)

The same is going on with the reviews. The threshold to keep your level was lowered to 4.2. Now, with the NEW system that's literally designed to give us lower reviews (which in itself is understandable), it's being raised back to 4.7 for TRS (or whatever it will be.) A score we didn't even know of and is supposed to be relatively stagnant will need to stay over what, 8-9 for TRS starting next month?

My point is that I feel like we're told about one thing; it makes sort of sense, but then it gets changed into something worse.

I think the value for-money bit COULD make sense... but maybe with some tweaking? Like maybe just a 'was this order worth the price?': yes/no. I think the risk is that people start thinking, 'Oh, actually, I saw, say, writers who were cheaper. Maybe they weren't as specialized as some of us (or just not as experienced but not everyone will reflect on that. A yes/no question is faster and a bit easier just to say 'yeah, I mean I got what I wanted...'

(sorry for the rant back to you, I've been sitting on this for a bit... I'm curious to see what changes tomorrow brings...)

  4. Is NEO...gone? Or did it only disappear from the seller's side (or just from me?) I wonder if I lost it because I kept trying to find myself 😛 (I couldn't, which is...either intentional or worrisome ha.)

I guess I'm just curious if anyone else lost it, or if perhaps it just... needed more time.)

  5. I'm not sure how it looks like as I don't use it but could the scammers be basing this off the request to order feature? Obviously that wouldn't take you to a fake site (duh) but still...

Clearly, they are getting smarter and that's honestly scary. I can definitely see a sleep-deprived seller automatically enter stuff because they are in a rush...

I might as well give up and move on with life. 😔

I might seem harsh,  but that could be the best choice for you.

Fiverr isn't for everyone, and after a month or two, if it really does not work out for you, that might be a sign. Of course, some people might not get orders for years; it's really hard to say.

That being said, if I were you, I'd look at my gigs from a buyers' standpoint: do you offer anything that they can't do for themselves? I can pay for AI to make me pictures, I'm pretty certain I can remove backgrounds all the same as well. Essay writing (for school) is NOT allowed - though, of course, you might be offering it for something else (but I thought I'd mention that here.)

Basically, you are offering lots of slightly different things that most people could do for themselves with the use of AI (I don't like AI myself, but you know, still) or some other free/cheap programs. There are also thousands of other sellers offering exactly the same things because they used to be easy to get a few bucks for. Try to offer something that people can't replicate themselves and then MAYBE, maybe you might get work... it's hard to say.

  7. Haha I love this!

I dig around in the mines of my creativity for characters, enigmas and even new worlds that can be accessed in a variety of formats.  I also pen down spooky snippets of media, using the 'demons' in my head to scare others instead.

(This sounds more ominous than what I really do 😂)

This reminds me of all the times I've snuck out to work at, like, 2 AM even when the deadline for something isn't even THAT close. Heck, I worked on Christmas Day... (don't tell my partner :P)

The constant pressure to be perfect has honestly hurt me, too - and some of it is really hard to get over.

I mean, on the one hand - we chose to freelance, right? But on the other... some things need to change.

You can't say,' The mental health of our sellers matters', and ping-pong between systems and ideas like this.

    Again, consistency is key.

If a 4.0 review tells more than a 5.0 review, why will it potentially make me lose my rank?

4.7 for TRS does not seem fair in a system that is made with room for lower reviews.

It's not that I 'hate' change, but that in this particular case,  I just fail to comprehend it entirely. Saying 'okay, let's try a different review system for half a year to see how that works' would be one thing, but things won't really change from what they used to be (other than it being harder to get a 5.0 review) will they?

I understand that Fiverr is dealing with oversaturation and that it sucks, especially with AI taking on more and more roles, but is this really the efficient way to help 'good sellers shine'? I'm not sure....

Anyway, well done for not listening to anything anybody said and saying "we'll do it in future, maybe" Fiverr. That's even less transparent than "we listened to you and made some micro-changes" with the cancellation stuff last year. Please stop introducing this stuff as transparent and start focusing on targeting the actual people who are creating problems in this marketplace.

Gosh, I wanted to say something but realised that it needs to be censored...

I think if there was a way to safely get rid of all of the fakes/bad sellers, they'd have done it. I'm not sure why that isn't an option (could be many reasons), but... well, this is what they think makes sense...

In a way, I'm all for 'let your buyers' experiences speak', but with sudden changes (the level system at least will take a bit, but not the review system) that CLEARLY many aren't understanding, I'm confused.

I'm also a bit nervous about having to keep a 4.7 rating when we are told that worse reviews are actually better.

I honestly would prefer if Fiverr took a stance here and stuck to it. It's either 'do well or else' or 'try to have honest ratings'.

Though that "it's against the community standards to...ask for the removal or modification of a published review or rating" message it now shows could be reworded as it isn't actually against the rules to ask that from Fiverr (or report it) if the review breaks the TOS (as it says in the standards page that those reviews can be reported).

That's true. I interpreted it a 'don't pester the buyer if they gave you a bad review'. Maybe something closer to 'if you think the review is unfair/etc.  reach out to CS? (but then that would cause other issues...)

  11. I'd assume so - I just got a review with this exact system and this little thing -

    image.png.91569cf281876da57eae0ca0478ede35.png

which is very smart (and kind of necessary) based on the past few weeks.

That being said, I do hope that they'll change the images in the article to 'sync' - e.g. either have a lower score because that's what it would be based on those ratings or pick higher ratings.

(On the one hand, I get it - we need to see the system at work'; on the other hand.. yeah, I think it'd make sense to change the images up a bit.

Do you even have any real jobs here? Every contact I had till now was deleted from Fiverr because they tried to contact me with outside work offers. And you don't even delete the old messages, so contact would still be possible.

    Anyways, no longer available.

Fiverr itself is not a scam (a little research will show you that). HOWEVER, there are a lot of scammers around, just like on many other marketplaces. Newcomers typically tend to get more spam because they are easier to fool. The site has gotten better at handling spam, but weird messages still get through whatever systems they have from time to time.

I do still get work from here, by the way, but ever since AI has been around it's been a bit worse than it used to be.

Has Neo had a lobotomy since then, or was that version of Neo a carefully-scripted fake conversation to dazzle and wow?

See, this is where I'm a bit concerned (also, have I told you you're hilarious and make me crack up? 😛 ). ANYWAY, my point is a bit more serious (I swear.) When you shoot a promo video like that - sure, it's a new tool, it needs time, etc. - you need to know the limits of the tool. Neo does NOT seem to be even semi-close to that ad. I'm sure it'll take time to get started with it properly (since I'm guessing we are training it as we go?) but it's just a bit too 'dull' for my taste.

I think if I could go to it and say, 'Hey Neo, I'm a writer who wants to publish an X-type book in x weeks but need everything but the writing,' it could actually arrange everything for me (cover, ads, etc. etc.) I'd be impressed and happy. But... until it struggles to find me someone who hits all targets for ONE thing... I'm cautious.

(also, just based on the people I work with.. many people will speak English in a funky way. How will Neo adjust to that? Does it speak different languages/etc.?) (I'm honestly curious.)

Is it true that fiverr is a hard platform to use??

Because I love my experience here since the day I signed in

I have a question right back to you (and you might not like it, but maybe you will.)

Have you made a single sale?

Does Fiverr serve its purpose (are you able to sell or buy well on it?) If yes, well, I totally get why you love it (and I do like the site, too.)

    But if no, well..

That's exactly why it's considered 'hard'. Not because making a profile to buy or sell is particularly difficult (it's not) but because making it as a freelancer is. There are no tricks that can get you selling; it's all hard work. You can love it all you want, but it'll still be work.

Some people don't like that and believe that they should get rich just for signing up. That's really not how it works.

(now, structurally speaking, Fiverr is simple and fairly easy to use as a user, which is nice.)

Neo also forgets me if I move to a different thread (it forgot my name and that I already told it that I was a TRS - sorry for the bad grammar!):

I'm OK with a clean slate in new conversations, but if Fiverr is selling NEO the way that one ad was showing (as a 'personal assistant' almost who helps with several things in a row/etc.) that might become an issue for some people.

I'm a bit concerned that you mention being a TRS, and it still directs you to 'start selling'. A quick 'Hey XY, I'm not the right channel for you to look for answers, hit up the TOS (not just 'start selling') or CS could feel different.

The biggest thing is, however, that when I was trying to PURCHASE a service (I went in again, curious if I could feed it more info) it seemed to forget/ignore criteria a well.

I'm hoping to launch something local in Sweden and don't want to rely on friends/etc. For ad translations and just other business stuff, I tried to look for someone who speaks Swedish - I got someone who speaks German, English and something else irrelevant.) My point is that if the service can't even filter someone out by a filter that EXISTS already.. I'm a bit worried.

True, but mostly freelancers. I doubt a business owner that's very busy will stay here and explain the AI what they need instead of browsing and finding on their own.

Hm, I guess it depends a lot. I think if someone wants a hands-off method (like briefs as well), it - could  - work, but otherwise, I'm not sure. Not as NEO is at the moment at least.

  16. I tried to do what (maybe) other people would do and 'Google' myself with Neo, and it never got me as a result (which..might make sense, to be honest.) However, when I actually tried to look for people for a project that I actually have (I need social media set up for personal stuff), I noticed that it's not quite... there yet.

What I was looking for shouldn't be that hard to find (someone who works with social media with a flexible project and who's worked with the game industry), but Neo didn't send me a SINGLE relevant profile. I got all kinds of social media marketers (from level one and up, I think), but no one in my actual field. Now, I know it's a niche, but there HAS to be at least one person who has both game and marketing gigs (or something similar), right?

I think NEO looks fancy and cool, but it'd been so much easier for me to find a freelancer myself. However, for new users, I can see NEO being VERY helpful. Still, I feel like it just feels kind of unpolished.

(also, something that I personally find interesting is that NEO remarks if a freelancer has a high rating as a 'pro' for them, but we are told that lower ratings should be normal and not everyone should be perfect...) I'm a bit concerned that this can become an issue later, but maybe I'm overthinking things.

It is ridiculous that Fiverr shows you as inactive if you don't use Fiverr for 2 minutes. What should I do on Fiverr when I don't have a project? Do I just have to stare at my gig page and refresh it so my impressions increase, and that might lead to a job? This is exhausting. Using auto-refresh is time-saving and logical, but I don't know why Fiverr is against it.

Because being online does NOT matter?
Fiverr (and many others) have confirmed it several times. Staring at the screen blankly is not helpful - the same goes for a refresher. Yes, you'll show up online, but so will 10 thousand others in your category. It just doesn't make enough of a difference to help. Working on your project and delivering something awesome every time, however, really does help.

I randomly clicked on another gig offering the same services I provide. While exploring, I came across a video created by the freelancer delivered a work for a client. I believe I can offer superior services, so as an experiment, I entered the client's name into the URL and found access to their inbox. However, I refrained from sending any messages.

No (I mean, it's against the TOS, like, just... straight out.) BUT I want you to imagine why.

Think about it from a buyer's POV.

You just had an order delivered - you love it (or don't, who knows.) As you prepare to have another look on the site (or decide not to use it again/etc.), your inbox starts FILLING UP with other sellers offering the same thing (that you might not even need anymore.)

It goes from 'hy, I can hels' to 'hey, are you looking for another video for your project' and so on

Would you not feel that creepy as heck?

We aren't allowed to write to buyers for many reasons without them messaging us, but yeah, some people discover loopholes but... they don't last on the site for long.

(this was actually one of the major faults of BR back in time - if you were a seller, you'd get BOMBARDED by other sellers the second you were looking for something.)

So yeah, it's just... not okay.

Wait for them to come to you.

(even if - you think - are better than the person they'd worked with before).

@donnovan86 seems we don't have the option, but we are going to add some more rewards pretty soon that will grant much higher levels of points for those who are creating and participating in conversations.

I think as long as you can define participation as actually productive (no spammy one liner posts posted ten times) this is a grand idea! Otherwise however I'd worry it could get chaotic since a lot of people misunderstand what the forum is good for (and its connection to the main site.)

I think more engagement is awesome (from new and old sellers alike!) but there has to be a certain 'standard' for it, especially if it's rewarded - though maybe you've already figured some things out!

I'm curious to see the changes in action as we go, it's always good to revamp things a bit for sure!

No I didn't mean it I need some help because i am new

One of the biggest tools a freelancer has available to them is the internet. Research (but don't expect people to tell you what to do exactly.) Once you learn what to search for (and know what you CAN'T find on your own), it's much easier to ask for advice. If you have specific questions, I'm sure there are people who would happily help!

Can you share your experience with briefs and how to access them? I haven't created a brief yet because I don't want buyers having unlimited access to my inbox simply because they've responded to a brief once. It seems easier to just do my own research and contact the sellers I would like to do business with myself. However, I'd like to be more helpful to buyers, especially first-time buyers, who would like to use the brief feature.

From what I remember, there IS a way to access briefs, but just like how BR was kind of hidden (at least to a reasonably new user), it's a bit obscured as well.  I - think - you need to wait for a notification and then can access it. I'm sure there's a different spot for it as well, of course, but I think it's a little tricky to find.

My biggest issue with briefs (personally) is that buyers don't seem to be encouraged to fill them out fully. The idea is that we are matched based on, well, the same criteria (and some more) as for BR in theory - but I feel that many times things just aren't filled out. For example, someone might give a budget that's relatively close to what I charge but then ask for 10k words. BR has this issue as well, to be honest (and was a lot spammier.)

I think in general, I'd love it if Buyers were informed about the resources they have (I saw the post you mentioned as well and never heard about it before, could be a reasonably new feature?) and just general things about the site (e.g. technically 'I don't like it', isn't grounds for cancellation, you should not buy 10 things and buy only one, you need to communicate frequently, etc.) in a gentle but informative way. I think a lot of people don't really know where to look for the TOS/etc. if that makes sense.
