I am a writer/blogger, a ghostwriter and an author as well. I’ve worked on Fiverr for years doing writing, research and providing other services. There are a large number of sellers on Fiverr who say they provide writing services but they aren’t skilled. I am sure some of them do copy things and if they use certain techniques (I won’t call those out here for good reason) they can hide that from some buyers. Some sellers in various categories try to do things they shouldn’t try or they fail their buyers with late deliveries and cancelations.
Buyers need to do their own due diligence when searching for a writer. People have talked trash about Fiverr and sellers for as long as I have been here, not just about writing but about all sorts of things. Actors and VO artists are accused of charging too little and causing problems for high dollar artists who don’t use Fiverr. Logo designers are accused of stealing logos or use logo generators. That’s never going to stop and it doesn’t really worry me.
As long as I can make money on Fiverr and be responsible for doing original work, I’m happy with it and if people talk I ignore them instead of trying to set them straight. They are missing out on some great values and some wonderful sellers. Other writers can say what they wish about freelancers and ghostwriters. I pretty much agree with fastcopywriter as well, but that’s my own two cents on the matter. No big deal.

I understand your point. I’m not against the 20% commission on tips for the reason hanshuber mentioned. I am against the $2 fee on tips and extras. The thing is, this has been discussed and ranted about on the forum for months and I don’t think it is a point that Fiverr wants to debate.
I know for sure that staff is aware of some of the original long forum threads on it. They aren’t interested. I assume that means they are doing well and not losing many quality sellers and buyers over the issue. I personally wouldn’t stop selling over it and I still buy as well though I don’t normally buy extras or tip anymore, I just pay as much as I can afford up front. So, I don’t expect to see it change.

More specifically, from the rules:
Most links are against the ToS when used in your gigs/profile, but it’s not very clear if their same list of allowed sites applies here (it doesn’t seem to). From what I’ve seen, the link removal is rather sporadic so it may boil down to a per-mod/per-situation basis. I understand removing suspicious or shortened links but there are tons of links I find removed on the forum.
Sorry, that’s probably not too helpful, but I’m a bit unclear myself.
@fonthaunt Maddie, sorry to disturb you. Can we get clarification on this? Maybe even consider a small rewrite in the rules to clear it up and establish the mod’s stance?
There really is no way to add an exhaustive list of links that would be okay or not. Mods handle links on a case-by-case basis. If the Mod isn’t sure, links are generally removed unless they are in the approved list used for Fiverr gigs. Even then the link has to be relevant and not used for advertising to be on the forum.
Forum users who want to recommend relevant instructions are encouraged to refer to sites without using links. (For example, “Search Wikihow for instructions to clear the cache.”) Another alternative is to write instructions out and post a guide.

Sales for me everywhere, including here, tapered off as Christmas neared. Was expected really. A couple of nights there was not a single Buyer Request. I’m making some changes to my gigs and my methods and looking forward to getting more orders as the New Year approaches.

If they have not ordered anything you can explain ToS politely and say “no.”. You can choose to report them if you think they intended to break the rules .
If they already placed an order I suggest that you let them know you can’t exchange info and proceed to deliver within the rules.

So, I glanced at your profile and you’ve made several sales recently. You have stronger overall analytics than the average forum newbie and you have had much more success than most people who resort to the forum for general advice. There are some higher levels posts here with ideas that might benefit you. Look for the UPYOUR series, for example.
Overall, though, you are already doing well enough that if you want to make your business a lot stronger you probably need to start reading some books on marketing. Perhaps you could improve your skills so that you could charge more instead of selling more volume, or you could add to your skillset and offer more gig types.

You answered your own question already. The way to rectify it is to deliver on time from now on. There is no other magic answer.

I imagine that the people who lost sales the most were ones that had gigs priced at $5-10. Out of a $5-10 order a 2 buck fee is unquestionably very high. For sellers who make most sales on orders starting at $15-25 or more, I don’t think the impact is as bad. The more the buyer spends, the less the fee seems that bad.
I think in some ways that may have boosted sellers with higher prices but I am still against the fee on principle. I don’t mind there being a fee that is a percentage of an order, but I’d like to see it be balanced better allowing for some cheaper gigs.
My sales went up after the fee, but like Vickie, I stopped getting tips for the most part. My extras also do not sell after an order due to the fee.

You could actually get a warning from Fiverr or even be banned for attempting to manipulate the system. I would suggest you don’t talk with buyers about tips. Bad idea.
Your post is in response to my comments, so I’m a little confused. I wasn’t suggesting that the OP discuss the tip amount with the buyer. I was merely stating that the seller/OP might want to consider smoothing over any confusion with the buyer by offering to do the requested work – in a custom order – for a discount.
If the buyer thought she was purchasing work by providing that tip amount, the seller/OP could just be generous and present the buyer with a discounted offer for the work. By doing so, the seller can balance out the confusion, and both parties are happy and get what they wanted (within the rules).

Sorry, it wasn’t really meant in reply to you. I actually intended to reinforce to the OP the fact that by discussing the tip with the buyer at all, they could get warned or banned. I agreed with your statements. 🙂 Sorry for the confusion.

I’m confused. Are you complaining because a buyer promised you a tip of a certain size, and then actually tipped half of that amount? Tips are voluntary. You neither deserve them as a seller, nor is it appropriate for you to complain when a buyer doesn’t voluntarily leave a tip in the amount that you want.

privnote contain DB Password, which we use to send password of databases.
I think privnote link was the one which caused the trouble.
Something like that should be sent in a text message on the order page probably. That way it’s all out in the open assuming it is needed for your job.
You should ask customer support how to do this so you won’t get in trouble.
FYI, Fiverr does not like privnote links. Others users have received warnings for these.
P.S. Misscrystal, I meant to respond to @qaiserabbas.

I don’t know what this means. You do have problems with your Fiverr profile. Using a fake stock photo on your profile, copying other things, all of that can get you banned another time. You would do better to be honest in your entire profile, embrace where you are from and just do what you do best.
yes brother, fiverr permitted me to try new account and enjoy this…again
Thanks Catwriter brother…
This is bordering on inappropriate. Don’t call strangers your brother, especially women. Don’t ask other sellers to let you do something - it’s up to you and Fiverr and no one else. You seem to need to make some adjustments all around.

But this gal gets around in style. 👑 and carriage – it gets me to my destinations safely. 😃
nikavoice:Oh, hey, that’s a picture of me holding the reigns! And the first horse you see is Revere. He’s quite friendly… and likes apples.
Nika, THESE are shoes (shoe-like footwear) that I can agree with you on. 😃

Watch out when you are traveling. The problem is not that Revere likes apples, but that he also leaves apples as gifts for others… 🚫

On a shorty like me, those will look like knee-high boots!
Oh, please! You act like you’re a baby cub, teacup or something. 😁
I’ve been 👁️ing these beauties.
You like?
Whoa… those shoes seem like an embarrassing accident at the factory. 😜

I have never seen any specific time for them. I see new ones sometimes in the early morning, then it might skip a day, then I might see them at midnight. Maybe some people have found some system, but I think it’s not a perfect automated system. Buyer requests should always be a backup plan instead of a first plan to get buyers. It just isn’t consistent.

No one should need to explain your own gigs to you. Sorry.

OK fine. Really this forum is the best thing about fiverr, always an answer. It’s great, I checked the forum for PayPal past threads so I don’t have to “post away” and I can’t find a find a place to check for past threads.
The forum has a search field that is great and can be sorted according to timing. Perhaps once you’ve been here long enough to get used to the forum, you’ll find more of the fantastic tools available. You might find that you will be welcomed more if you approach other readers with a nicer attitude, though.

Your profile is available online. I can see it and your gig just fine. I noticed that you have gigs offering to talk on the phone or Facetime and you should know that it’s possible to get banned for that sort of thing. You can contact Customer Support and explain why you feel that it’s necessary to offer off-Fiverr contact and they will say yes or no. Without that written permission you may be in trouble. Always take care that you do not offer any adult-oriented services. Those are not allowed on Fiverr. Good luck.

Most sellers with Pro status are not TRS as far as I know. Paul is a level 2 (with 14 day clearance probably?) so if he gets demoted, it wouldn’t be to TRS.
I am a level 2, but Pros actually have 7-day clearance of funds - one of the benefits of the badge, I believe.
Ok, so I guess I’m an optimist, but to me that tells me I have two ways of getting a 7 day clearance! If I can’t make TRS, I can try to polish up my business skills and get a Pro badge instead. Either way, to my understanding Pro is not a level, right? It’s an opportunity, though.

I believe I am under exactly the same requirements as everyone else, as the Pro badge is independent of seller level.
What I mean is this, will PRO sellers lose their pro status? Will they be demoted to TRS? I doubt it. I think King Pros will be left alone. Fiverr loves the pros, they’re the special people, the patricians of Fiverr. The rest of us are a bunch of plebes.

BTW, I’m sorry to everyone who lost a level in this smashup. I was only “saved” by 3% so I may be next. This thread is more of a rant than a suggestion, though.

Withdrawn funds cannot be reversed, I understand. Withdrawals are final and cannot be undone. That I also understand. Now these are very ambiguous terms that I know any lawyer and I am not one, can pick into. Number one, withdrawn funds means that money was taken from Fiverr and put elsewhere. Fiverr has taken the funds but funds have not been appropriated anywhere. (Note withdrawal request was to my bank). Number two, for something to be declared that it “cannot be undone” it would have had to be done in the first place. What has Fiverr done? Sent me a message to say the withdrawal request is initiated with a 3-5 day wait but the withdrawal has not be done.
This is the message I receive from Payoneer:
We’re glad to let you know that Fiverr has initiated a payment to you as per the following details:
Initiated being the operative word here.
The message quoted above would have me believe that if I request withdrawal from Fiverr and they state it has been withdrawn but it is hanging somewhere and not sent anywhere “I have no legal grounds with Fiverr?”
I have no legal grounds with Fiverr?
That would be a question for an expert in international law if you want to take it there, not for me. :balance_scale:

Ghostwriters You Should Know What's happening
in My Fiverr Experience
Posted
This shows my age, but it reminds me of when I was a kid and I read all of the Nancy Drew mystery books. They all had the author name “Carolyn Keene” (I think that was it) and I thought the books were fun. Looking back at them, some of them were pretty awful, actually. 🙂 Anyway, there was no internet then either so I didn’t really look into this author but one of my high school teachers eventually told me the truth. There was no Carolyn and there wasn’t even one ghostwriter. The books were written by many different ghostwriters who knew how to go by the formula. The author name was always fictitious. I’m sure ghostwriting has been going on as long as books have been written. 😃
