  2. your fiverr username isn't that obvious for everyone to guess. your forum profile doesn't even mention it. and you were born in 1904? 👀
  3. hey there, before you follow any of these suggestions, please be aware the road ahead is tough. there is no guarantee it will be worth it in the end. But there is no reason not to try -- read the TOS and do not make another mistake. that will likely get you permanently banned. calculate how many reviews you need exactly -- as far as I know, you only need an overall rating of 4 stars to apply for buyer requests. forget buyer requests -- you don't have the access. And new users rarely see them anyway. there is no point to it. create new gigs -- Fiverr's matchmaking system works on machine learning. there is a good chance the AI will test new gigs, i.e., serve it before different buyer demographics. it's okay to delete or pause the under-performing gigs to create new ones. but give them each a month before you disqualify any. and don't delete the gig with the negative review. niche down -- target niches with few or zero gigs. if you can create a gig that exactly matches what a buyer is looking for, there is a good chance they will take the risk. for example -- instead of a winning product, offer something like winning fitness products for kids. portfolio or success stories -- there are so many websites that will host your portfolio for free. Fiverr allows some URLs that you can share on the platform. even if your gigs do not pick up, this will continue to help you in the long run. ...
  4. That dip is quite common when sellers move a level up or down. It may have more to do with the less than 5-star reviews on your profile, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Their effect will wear off. Give it some time.
  5. For me, it still says AM and PM. Check your browser and device settings, maybe?
  6. Most businesses test new features on two set of users -- The most loyal ones who won't leave regardless of how bad the features are The newest ones who do not matter much as of yet If the features pass the initial tests and become available to everyone, you'll likely get them too. If they're handpicking sellers, that's up to them. If it's for new users only, e.g., the rising talent badge, we obviously won't get those. In short, it mostly has nothing to do with you or your services. Keep up the great work.
  7. Hey there, I tried posting it in a thread, but my response was hidden automatically. And I think it'd benefit us all to discuss it as a separate topic. So here we go... What do you think is gaming the system? It sounds obvious at first, but if you think twice, pretty much everything one can do can be defined as gaming the system given the circumstances. Is it gaming the system... if you lower your prices or offer discounts to get more orders (to maintain the order completion rate)? if you advertise your gigs on social media (including conversational marketing, i.e., chatting with your friends and connections on f**, I***, T**, L**, Wa**, Te**, etc.) to get more orders? if you break an order in smaller ones to maintain a metric on your analytics dashboard or get more reviews? if you use forums' designated categories to advertise your gigs around the evaluation date? if you launch or offer a totally unrelated gig or custom order to maintain one of the stats? if you offered the same services at $5 (aka undercut prices) to collect reviews as a new seller? There are so many markets where they do not approve of this practice. if you do XYZ to get more sales or maintain your analytics? if you do anything to favor your fiverr business other than creating gigs and delivering orders? P.S. I'm on a week long vacation and internet access is questionable. I may or may not be able to respond to everyone in time. But I'll certainly post when I can. Let's see what everybody thinks. Until then, xx
  8. That's what the OP said. Nothing wrong with it! That's amazing. Being unique and differentiating yourself from your competitors is the first step. Don't worry about buyer requests all that much. Create your gigs in a way that buyers come looking for your services. It isn't too different from creating a website. And there is a lot of valuable information in the article/post shared above. Keep up the great work.
  9. I had to look through this. Since the last year when I returned on Fiverr, all my buyers have been strategic ones. Except for the one who cancelled right after purchase. On the other hand, I'm mostly a strategic buyer + window shopper. My purchases remain strictly strategic. But I have like 5x lists of gigs I plan to buy someday. One of which has been sitting there since 2016-17. I seriously think the window shopping instinct is what keeps me from impulse buying.
  10. That's great news. I'm glad your 5r businesses is back up and running again. How was the experience with the success manager? I mean, other than being able to discuss stuff, did you get any personalized feedback that may have helped improve your gig? Information that isn't available on the forum already?
  11. Not really. Lack of wealth and power drives more people to insanity. But people like bashing on the rich because it makes them feel better. The article shared above is about Gates Foundation funding a Harward research to build a technology that can't only shield the earth but also help create habitable atmosphere on other planets. But people with zero understanding of tech and money get to talk sh!t all over the tech-enabled Internet. It certainly will. I hope the new leadership can lead the country out of crises soon enough. People as a collective have very little to say as to what happens during times like these.
  12. Not that one. But I've received similar credits for other offers. I usually just buy something I need. It's totally okay to let it sit there until you need something. Otherwise, you can always invest in 'digital tools' that will come handy for a long time. Think templates, books, source codes, etc. There are a lot of sellers offering those on 5r. How was your experience with the seller plus? Although, I have the option since a while now. I'm still very much skeptical due to their lack of guarantees and zero promises.
  13. As if it's not possible to 'recreate' a copyrighted material and have the source file ready. The assumption that source files somehow prove ownership alone is enough to say they have zero idea of what is or isn't original. Otherwise, there are far better and effective ways to confirm the originality of an artwork. But, eh.
  14. lmao I have no idea where to begin. You and newsmike are the only ones who have quoted from and discussed movies until now. Thanks for calling out. Biden has allowed more drilling. I don't see your point. Go thank him. It seems you're interested in the US only - while I'm concerned about the whole planet. It doesn't matter to me where the oil comes from. It shouldn't have to come at all. But wait for it. US exports more than it imports... Gross imports : 8.47 M barrels per day Gross exports : 8.63 M barrels per day Source: https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=727&t=6 No one is forced to buy from OPEC or whoever. It's the same oil conglomerates raising prices and raking profits that keep trying to disparage renewable(s). So maybe, you should be speaking against them instead. Even if US was pumping more, they would simply export it to the EU and other russ-oil-gas importers. The prices will still rise. But I'm sure average people can't grasp the alternate reality. P.S. I'm done with this discussion. I've had a good laugh writing this one - but I won't be engaging on this topic anymore. Feel free to respond however you wish. Thanks & ciao.
  15. Thanks. I had no plans to answer the same questions again and again anyway. The current and upcoming price hikes are due to the ongoing aggression of an "oil rich" populist. Stop blaming renewables for that! Period.
  16. Read about recessive genes. People don't always benefit from all the genes that their kids or parents do. Well. 1. You are on the Internet right now. 2. Most libraries are online these days. 3. Movies aren't the best place to look for information. They rely on exaggeration and everybody knows that! 7% of that electricity, on average, comes from hydro power. And another 7% comes from solar and wind power. Period. And 7% is actually a lot. One earth hour per year quenches the whole world. 7% is more than one and half hour everyday. Just think about it. No AC, no heating, no cell signals, no internet, no phones, no computers, no surgeries, no ventilators, nothing. You can't manage without that 7%. It's only to let you know that there are options available to coal and other fossils. Stop saying otherwise. Mining coal doesn't create smoke. Burning it does. So even if they import from abroad, they're still the one burning it. And that needs to stop. 0.2 years do not make much difference. Cite your sources.
  17. Wrong. Hydroelectricity already powers 7% of total electricity consumption in the US. That's more than half the electricity Texas needs, The same electricity is used to charge and run electric cars, buses, trains, metro, etc. With more projects underway, that 7% can easily be stretched to 70 within a decade. It's only a question of willingness to move away from harmful energy sources that you seem to be lacking. And that's just one source of renewable energy. Read the article where you copied/quoted it from. It's about only a small subset of Amish people with a specific gene mutation. Nothing about their lifestyle or lack of cars. Some of them have better genes. So what? Average life expectancy of Amish people is 79 years, which is almost the same as the rest of the USA (78.8 years). Do your research. Wrong. Read up : #1 is -- Inspection at Every Step -- Organic food is more expensive in part because of the strict USDA Organic certification standards required on the farm, during transportation, and in production facilities. Labor is certainly an issue but so is unemployment. Use those furloughed coal mine workers in organic food facilities. The working conditions and pay are much-much better. Source: https://www.organicvalley.coop/blog/why-is-organic-food-more-expensive/
  18. Oh. Not at all. I have problem with the effect itself. It kinda assumes something wrong with the person themselves. Just like most of the psychology facts. I appreciate the clarification though. Hydroelectricity (exists already). Li. Solar. Self-charging batteries. There is no full stop here. It takes three years to get the licence for organic foods. Banks do not insure the crops in absence of the license and pesticides. Governments do not subsidize organic food and seeds like they do pesticides. Less organic food in the market == higher demand == higher prices. As far as the labor is concerned, it's pretty cheap around the world these days. And AI is just round the corner. No one is shutting down 'every' facility there is! Shutting them down will save some. Not shutting them down will use up everything. Take your pill. It's due to the kind of lifestyle they lead. More of a personal choice. Nothing the world can do as a collective. Be more active, wear a mask, don't get hypertension or diabetes, and you'll do just fine. Their life expectancy is the same as the rest of the US though. 180-190 years. Only if we don't ramp up production. No need to be a scientist for that. That means many wells will run out much earlier. Prices will go higher. Most of the world won't be able to afford gas in the last 40-50 of those 190 years. Infrastructure takes time to set up. It took centuries to build roads and railroads before trains and cars could become the way of life. And there are still places where you can't go around without a pony. The numbers are correct (and an underestimate). Look it up. Or let me know and I'll post the link. The logic being - if everyone goes Amish, we'll need way more horses and ponies - and won't be able to feed them. So not a viable option.
  19. The answer was crystal clear. Don't use nuclear. The waste is here to stay and so are the CO2 levels that keep rising due to fossil fuels. I'm sorry, but nobody gets to cancel renewables with an argument against nuclear. Organic farming is usually cheaper than the chemical one? The high prices you see are due to logistics, policies, licence fees, and limited supply. Maybe, look into that? Jobs are more important than breathing? Okay. But again, a completely different issue. Job security and unemployment benefits exist for a reason. Tech advancement has always been paired with job loss. Whether we talk about AI, computers, cars, or cotton mills. They all resulted in job loss, businesses shutting down, people going broke, etc. We've built cars and planes, so have we stopped using horses and buggies completely? It's not like we're going to shut down everything that comes out of fossils. Think about it. Fossil fuel supplies are limited. If we use up everything, there will be none left for our kids or great-grand-kids. Then what? 33-40% of arable land is already used for growing feed crops only. Not a viable option at all. The effect might be real. But victim blaming is never good. 👀
  20. It's called gradual change. You can't shut them all in a day. Gotta do it over the decades. A completely different issue. Children and adults die in coal mines too, at a rate much higher than Li, Co, or Ni mines, due to the poisonous gases that accompany coal. Most of the stories you will hear are from overpopulated starved countries. And the best solution for them would be to abort the children they cannot feed. 100% agree. Don't eat that. Go organic. 1. We talk Li and Co and Ni because we want to avoid the hazard that comes with nuclear. 2. This is nothing new. Go back to 18th century and you'll meet Edison demonstrating how AC (alternating current that we use today) is going to destroy the world. Same for fridge and HVACs. People have always questioned the new tech. Over the time, you too will realize that solar powered tech is more efficient, cheaper, quieter, faster, lighter, and longer-lasting. Not everlasting because sun too will run out. But, yeah. Keep burning that coal until then. And every mining project, railroad, airplane manufacturing plant was built by then-millionaires. Nothing new. P.S. We need to realize. If not today, then tomorrow, we're going to run out of the coal and other fossils available on earth. If we don't build for renewables today, we won't have a chance tomorrow. It's not a choice. P.P.S. The current oil and upcoming food crisis is NOT due to the push on renewable energy. It's due to one 'scared-to-death-non-person-P' who has capitalized on fossils. So whoever said it: to hell with your lies. 😃
  21. Nobody is asking you to shut down coal mines without options in place. You needn't give up important products in order to get away from the fossil fuels, which is running out faster than ever, and turning the globe into a furnace. Don't make it an either-or option that it isn't -- you can do both -- move away from fossil and keep every luxury yet known and unknown to humanity. Lithium, unlike hydrocarbon, doesn't go stale after first use. Li mining doesn't hurt environment anywhere close to what fossil fuels do! Ships used to run on wind even centuries ago. We've already built the first airplane that is 100% solar powered. The future (or past) is not as far as it may seem. It's more about the willingness and courage to do the right thing.
  22. Most of 5r competitors operate on the bidding model. I'm not aware of one that allows 'you' to pre-define an offer and lets buyers contact you based on that, which is the closest alternative to having your own website, if you think about it. Well, details are always good, Will. They let you understand the person better. I'm sorry mine won't be as long though.
  23. Well. That cliche was mostly for somebody who keeps dictating what is or isn't professional. But let me explain... There was a time when Fiverr was Fiverr. Everything was $5 only. What did sellers do then? They made up packages out of nowhere. You want X? Buy 5x gigs. For Y, it's 4x gigs. For Z and so on... Tw*tter users came up with #tags. Wh**sapp and Tel*gram users came up with notes tab (one-person groups). Torch bearers turned them into messaging devices. And kids still make planes out of paper. A machine, software, book, etc. never gets to dictate how somebody should run their business. If you don't like how they operate, don't deal with them. Saying or chanting "Fiverr is an on-demand marketplace" is not only absurd but also stupid. Fiverr keeps changing. It won't take them 10 minutes, if tomorrow, they decide to put an inquiry button next to the order now button. Or to make it optional for sellers to choose a 'contact me' button instead of the 'order now'. And... Whoever said there is nothing that compels a buyer to contact first, you're more than welcome to throw in something. Free consultation should already be enough. But you can also offer a discount or a freebie. It's not that tough, and certainly not impossible, if you wanna implement something. Peace out.
  24. Background removal can be quite complex based on the image in question. I see nothing wrong if a seller wants to make sure they can deliver something optimal before an order is placed. As far as the "contact me before placing an order" part, it's the best way to weed out impulse buyers, confused buyers, I-want-it-yesterday buyers, I'll-need-it-after-10-other-sellers-deliver-something buyers, etc. Those who started selling at $5 per gig won't understand it though. 👀
