  1. I get a bit defensive about my use of Apple products! I genuinely enjoy the user experience and interface of macOS (and the associated software) - but unlike some pretentious protagonists, I’m definitely a low-end Apple user. My 10 year old MacBook Pro still does everything I want it to.

I recently transitioned to Apple, just because of the user experience. As a designer that is in the process to transition to UI/UX design, Apple products are very good starting to learn the best practices.

  2. Safari is not only for rich people! I use a 2011 MacBack Pro. Current value, about $175.

I use the free Apple office applications - Pages, Numbers and Keynote. If ever I need to ensure 100% compatibility, then I use the free Microsoft Office online applications - but this is rare. Maybe for about 1 in every 50 jobs.

I much prefer the clean look of macOS and the rugged feel of the MacBook. Plus the native applications have a very clean and uncluttered look which I find helps with my productivity. When you rely on a computer day in day out for your work, you’ve got to feel comfortable with it - I just don’t like Windows. The interface is too cluttered for me.

I was joking. I often used Safari on my iPad, iPhone and MacBook. 😉

  3. I’d say, the best way to create organic traffic for your gigs is to do the following:

    1. Once you do first sale, and then the second, and then the third, and then the Xth sale. Post on the forum that you did.
    1. Advertise your gig in section where gigs are allowed to be advertised.
    2. Spamming people to order your gig.

However, things I found out that never work are:

    1. Creating a YouTube videos about the service you do and building a personal branding on social media.
    2. Instagram with portfolio and optimized hashtags.
    3. Facebook fan page.

Just inverse this, and you will get the right answers.

  4. Yes your right, I have seen that almost all sellers get 70% of their orders from US, Canada and Australia. However, Those sellers who always get hundreds of orders on daily bases might get more chances to increase their world domination score.

There are sellers who get a few orders a month and earn more than those people who get 50+ orders a day. 😏

  5. Sad reality. Got a response from Fiverr support.

They don’t care anymore. Not only that you have to pay a service fee from your personal shopping balance or your earned balance but you also need to pay as well again the service fee when you cancelled an order and order a new gig. They won’t refund the service fee from a cancelled order and worse you now need to pay again the service fee from finding and purchasing a new gig of same price.

I guess probably, buyers should probably start vetting their sellers in a better way. Once that is done, this thing with the fee would be no problem.

I mean, if you were now in the shoes of a seller, this is a great thing, as it would stop the scammers. This is a public forum, I can’t talk much about them, from where they are and so on but there is always the same pattern. What they do is always ask for a cancellation at the end of the delivery. This fee would make those people think twice, as they would lose money anyways.

This fee might bring us #TheEndOfTheDears.

EDIT: I know what you wanted to say, there are a lot of bad sellers, that ruin the reputation on this site, and therefore they deliver bad work, for which you would like a refund, and I get it. I understand the anger of the buyers too.

  6. I want to go to Saigon. Not entirely sure about Cambodia.

But I have to go to New York.

I want to go to Saigon

So Saigon is also known as Ho Chi Minh City?

Yep, the official name is Ho Chi Minh City while Saigon is the old name that’s still in use. If you have noticed their airport code is still “SGN”. I guess that locals don’t mind calling it either way. 😆

Saigon is so cool, I have made some math for traveling there, everything is cheap. I mean $300 for a week in a 4-star hotel, with half-board included (it might have been a special offer though). However, the only thing making me reconsider the trip is the airline cost. Okay, also the idea that I can’t make up my mind, should I save money for Cuba or Vietnam. That’s the dilemma. I like both of the places, and it’s interesting to see their cultures.

  7. I thought and thought and decided I would like to travel to Norway and Sweden, with a stop off in England and Scotland. My family roots are in all of these countries. (Well, to be honest, I am only a wee bit of Scottish, but I loved the Outlander books and maybe a trip back through the stones would be exciting!) I would go with my children, grandchildren, and my hubby.

For sure I would drive the Atlantic highway along the coast of Norway.

And I want to sit on this big rock just like I saw Ragnar Lothbrok do in the History Channel series, Vikings.

    image

I will NOT go in the winter. I would rather explore the Fjords in summer. Maybe even catch a river cruise.

I love the villages. They look quaint.

Although I frequently see the northern lights where I live, I think in Norway and Sweden they will be brighter!

I also would have to enjoy some Scandinavian cuisine.

For sure I would drive the Atlantic highway along the coast of Norway.

A friend of mine drove the Atlantic highway on a motorbike, and he didn’t like it. He says it’s a lot better if you are the passenger. LOL

  10. The Serengeti National Park in Tanzania so I can go on an African safari!

I would love to relax in one of the luxury hotels, eat like there is no tomorrow and go for a hot balloon through the park - if, I’m really lucky, I may even see lions/leopards/cheetah’s chasing their dinner!

I honestly don’t know anyone with the same vacation ideas as me, so not sure.

Awesome idea, dear! I have those wishes too, but there are a lot of obstacles for traveling some places at this moment, at least for me.

I would love to visit the Victoria Falls, which are in Central Africa, that’s one of the few places that I would love to see in Africa. 😍

  11. 🏝️

Just another fun & chill thread to pass the time.

If you could be anywhere in the world right now… Where would you go and with who? (+1)

Note: It could be a friend, family member, significant other, stranger. Frenemy, pet or even a forum member if that tickles your fancy. 🤭

    I’ll 👠 kick this thing off…

I would go to Bora Bora (Island in French Polynesia)

The BIG question who would I bring with me? I’d go alone to get some R&R time - a little outdoor frolic, meditation, skinny dipping, selfies and reading 50 shades of grey 📚

    • NO 📱 phone
    • NO 📺
    • NO work
    • NO B.S.
    • NO Distractions
    • NO stress and last but not least no male drama. 😛

    🏝️

Take it away! 🍹 (pictures are fine, too) Fyi~ post more than once it’s no biggy. See, today I wannabe in Bora Bora tomorrow it’ll be in… well stay tuned! 😎, interesting country, and I wanna see that vintage culture. Recently, a friend of mine visited Cuba and he was mesmerized by the beaches, the food, the nature and the mentality. I would probably go by myself or with a friend that is adventurist. I wanna catch the time while they are still a communist republic. It’s like going back in time.

However, I would like my phone and laptop with me. It might inspire me to start writing a book (of course in Macedonian, my English isn’t that good).

I would take my 📷 with me, as I love photography. Some of you had already seen my travel photos, they are not pro, but they make me happy so, it’s a win.

    Photos of Cuba, not mine!

  12. It’s been said many times that having good photos for your gigs is what might be one of the things that will make potential clients think about purchasing your gig. Obviously, I don’t advise people to go ahead and steal other people’s photos, but how to create an interesting design if you don’t know to work with any software.

    1. If you want to spend for your gig photo, you can always do a search and there are tons of great sellers that actually offer GREAT gig photos. I can’t find the link, but there is a top rated seller that actually only provides tips on improving your Fiverr profile.

    2. You can go to Canva.
Choose custom size. Enter 550 Pixels by 370. Pick the fonts that you like, you can use a lot of free fonts, icons, illustrations in order to come up with something. It is pretty easy to work in Canva so you don’t need to be an expert for design. You just need to know what look good for the eye.

    Some tips from me:
Keep the design simple, use as little text as possible, just your headline. Use icons/photos that represent your gig. Definitely, pick fonts which aren’t the “Comic Sans” or “Impact”.

You can share your creations here so I can give you some feedback.
