Feedback That Goes Both Ways This sounds eerily similar to your competitor, yanno, the UPs people. So, I’m very familiar with how this works. I actually, like the transparency of this blind feedback system. No pressure, just an honest opinion of services rendered and dealing with the client. I’m saying this on the behalf of those amazingly honest Buyers. Like moi a Pro Buyer, Gina etc. The ones who will not abuse this system, but use it in fair way. Thank you for listening, 5r!OK, so now that’s out of the way… I want to foot the bill to buy the entire Fiverr Staff coffee.😁 Or maybe I should just stick with treating Matt or @micha to coffee? ☕ Of course, I understand we can’t have our cake 🍰 and eat it, too.   2. I’m not ruining anything. I’m stating the obvious. Many sellers top concerns have been orders placed in error and the 4.7 app review bug. 4.7 reviews now get rounded down to 4.5 reviews and unjust cancellations still effect sellers. (Unless they are psychic and block the right buyer before they place an order. Quite honestly, I’m confused about why this is being seen as so game-changing. If you think I’m missing something, please feel free to enlighten me. Thanks @cyaxrex. As stated above, that concern is separate from this announcement. I’m sorry if you personally don’t feel that this announcement isn’t a good thing, but we feel that it does a lot to empower both buyers and sellers by providing more tools, options, and opportunities for honest feedback.
  3. So… Why even bother with the level system? 4.8 would be easy for most sellers to maintain. If, of course, things like buyers ordering services which sellers do not provide didn’t have to count against them. That and the 4.7 app review bug. Also, 4.7 star reviews get rounded down to 4.5 stars by Fiverr. And the removing of the lowest rated order from the past 60-days? How does this help buyers? If I order from a seller and leave a legitimate 1-star review, I’m going to have less, rather than more trust in the rating system if my review is just going to get removed. 4.8 is a good baseline. Take it down to 4.7 and instead of nasty, mediocre and good sellers, you’re just left with nasty and excellent. Would it really have been so hard to fix a few bugs and give CS agents the power to cancel orders without these affecting sellers? Hi @cyaxrex, I think you misunderstand. The “removal” of the lowest rated is only for the level system evaluation. This change is for the rating system and its relation to the cancellations stats.

These basics of good communication, safety and trust are all part of the foundation of the marketplace we have created together, and improving on these things is part of growing our community. Today we are launching a new initiative to add more tools and features to Fiverr to make the marketplace as transparent, trustworthy, and frictionless as possible. In the coming weeks and months, you will see a gradual rollout of new features and product updates that improve the overall product, simplify the experience and raise the quality of our support. Here’s a brief overview of some of the features you can expect to see next week: You’ve Got Options Fiverr’s “order in a single click” is one of the things that make the customer experience so quick and efficient on Fiverr. But like any service-based project between two people, sometimes things go sideways. Whether it is personal chemistry, communication difficulties, or expectations that just do not match, sometimes it is best to just agree to disagree. In these rare cases, buyers have the option to simply stop their communication with a seller or refrain from ordering from them. We want to provide sellers with similar options. Soon, sellers will have the option to stop communication and orders from certain buyers, all without impacting cancellation percentages or seller rankings. Sellers will see this option from the profile page of any buyer, and can also access the option from their inbox. Once a seller exercises the option, the buyer will not be able to contact or place an order from the seller. Learn more here! Trust and Safety First As a member of the community we want you to speak up when you see something wrong, and we want to create an easier way to do it. Both buyers and sellers will be able to quickly report profiles of any user they feel violate our Terms of Service or operate in a way that hurts the values of our community. Our Trust and Safety team will investigate flagged content quickly, keeping our marketplace in good shape. Learn more here! Changes to Level Evaluation If you stress about the improvements that we are making to the rating system, you should know that a more accurate rating means that the reputation that you build for yourself is stronger and the system can better between your baseline performance and anomalies. For example, sometimes you do your best but still fall short of a buyer’s vision. We recognize that even when rare, these kinds of instances can be stressing. One of the first steps we are taking is to alleviate some of the pressure on sellers. So, beginning with the September evaluation, the rating threshold will be lowered from a 4.8 to 4.7 average in the last 60 days, and the lowest rated order during the period will be removed from the evaluation of the seller. Feedback That Goes Both Ways We are moving to a blind feedback system. What this means is that sellers will be asked to provide their feedback working with a buyer before receiving the feedback the buyer left. This is meant to assure feedback that is honest, independent and free from bias. Sellers’ feedback on buyers is extremely important to our ability to keep the integrity of Fiverr and provide sellers with better experience and protection. You can expect additional features in the coming future. If a seller does not review the buyer from a specific transaction, the buyer’s review will be revealed 10 days after order completion. Once the sides have provided their feedback, their reviews will be made public and will be locked from further changes. Learn more here! That’s it for now. More updates will follow.   7. We shouldn’t care and buyer never care, actually nobody give a F about this little test, no benefit to buyer or seller. I have no idea why they always doing this kind of new feature which benefit less than 1% of the users on the platform. Do something or at least fix your bugs, turning to the right direction is more importrant then copying competitors platform idea and tell yoru user: “Hey! We got that too now, let’s have a try and we sure you’ll like it”. Thanks but no thanks. Why not 'Hey, we have new payment partner or we can clear your payment is less than 3 days with NO CHARGEBACK Possible because we are big enough to bargain with PP now." That kind of feature I want to see fiverr giving. Thanks for your feedback. We know that when a buyer feels more comfortable and trusts that the seller knows what they’re doing, the transaction goes more smoothly. Verified tests help with that trust. As for bugs and new features. Both can be true at the same time. Fiverr is a large company with many people working to make it better than the day before. We will continue to make as many improvements and fixes based on user feedback as we can.

  9. It will be platform specific. i.e.: Photoshop/Illustrator tests showing proficiencies in those programs. Your portfolio should speak to your design experience.
  10. Of course, there are always bad apples out there that will try to scam and cheat the tests. There are precautions built into the test platform to help minimize those who would look to cheat the test. Clearly, there are ways around it, but then a seller would be violating our Terms of Service, thus compromising their account. These tests are 100% free.

As part of our ongoing efforts to increase overall marketplace quality, we will begin offering the opportunity to take skills tests to verify seller skills. Skills tests will not be mandatory, but are an opportunity to increase buyer trust by proving your skills in the subcategories in which you offer services. We’ve been rolling out the skills tests in the Translation subcategory over the past few weeks, but starting today, a small sample of sellers will be able to test in over 400+ skills! We will be gradually opening up this feature to all sellers over the coming weeks. Once your account is active with the skills test feature, it’s easy to get started: To take a skill test: Go to fiverr.com/my_profileIn your profile card, click Take Tests on the left pane.Select a Skill Test to take.https://sellers.fiverr.com/en/article/taking-a-skill-test Again, you do not have to take these tests. They are 100% optional. However, taking a test is a great way to prove your aptitude and earn a new buyers’ trust—and to keep your skills sharp! As a seller, you have the option to show or hide your score to Fiverr buyers. Should you choose to share your skill test results, users will see various details such as your score, time spent, results by topic, and more. If you don’t pass the test the first time, don’t panic! You can retake the test after 24 hours and up to two times in a 3-month period. Hopefully taking the test provides an opportunity to brush up on your skills and continue to hone your expertise. Portraits & Caricatures: Yesterday, we officially launched a new subcategory called Portraits & Caricatures! This is exciting news, because our super popular portrait and caricature Gigs now have a dedicated home where buyers can easily find them. As part of this change, we moved all portrait Gigs in Illustration and pet portrait Gigs in Cartoons & Caricatures to the new subcategory, Portraits & Caricatures. Cartoons & Caricatures: We renamed Cartoons & Caricatures to Cartoons & Comics, which will be focused on these types of Gigs. We’re hoping to elevate our amazing cartoonists and comic creators with this change, and make the structure of Graphics & Design easier to understand. Changes to Writing and Translation: Technical Writing is writing on a topic for a similarly expert or technical audience, for which the writer is required to have a specialized knowledge and understanding of the subjects being discussed. If you have meaningful experience in technical writing (e.g. instruction or user manuals, product writing, indexing, reports, or technical scripts) we’d like to invite you to consider creating a Gig in Technical Writing. We also published a pretty great blog post to go along with the Technical Writing update. Changes to Digital Marketing: Surveys! Services here include both survey writing, design, and response analysis. If you have meaningful experience in either survey creation, analysis, or both, we’d like to invite you to consider creating a Gig in Surveys. Changes to Video & Animation: Intros & Animated Logos has been split into two subcategories: Intros & Outros and Logo Animation to help buyers have an easier experience finding exactly what they need.   19. Hi @miiila! Thanks for your great questions and feedback! We’ll definitely take your feedback into account as we continue to refine the filtering options. The Document Types are specific and only enable you to pick one so that someone who needs very specific help with a document can search for help in just that particular area. “General/Conversational” is a good choice for someone who wants to offer something more general, rather than a very specific document type. You can choose to have a catch-all gig with General Conversational if you’d prefer, or create more specific gigs for any additional expertise you may have. We hope this helps!

To get better, clearer metadata so our buyers having an easier time finding your Gigs, and more pricing attributes for you to price your service. All you need to do is update your Gigs to ensure the most relevant and accurate metadata and pricing attributes are selected. If you have a Gig in this category, in order to maintain your current sales, reviews, analytics etc. you must update your Gig(s) by June 21st in order to remain on the marketplace. Don’t wait any longer!. If you update in this time period, you will be allowed to preserve your onsite reputation including previous sales, reviews, analytics, etc. Here’s what’s happeningWe’re removing all of the current service types: On-Site Optimization; Off-site Optimization; Keyword Research; and Plugins & Tools are all going away. We will close all of the current Service Types and any gigs that haven’t updated will no longer be on the marketplace. We’re replacing them with four new service types and their corresponding pricing attributes: Page Optimization - Optimize both the content and HTML source code of individual web pages in order to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic in search engines.   23. From privacy buffs to just regular internet users, the past few weeks have been filled with headlines, emails and blog posts all focused on changes to privacy laws and policies across Europe. The law, broadly dubbed “General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR),” is focused on enhancing protection for consumers within the European Union (EU) and outside of it.
