  1. When I verified by ID account with FIverr they did not ask me for any money. It appears that you were scammed. Since this is your fault, Fiverr can do nothing about it. I suggest you contact your bank to file a dispute.

Absolutely. It's honestly embarrassing at this point. I'm just glad for the forums so us sellers can discuss these things with each other. It's been way more helpful than any "advice" received from support. I actually wasn't even active in the forums at all until this new level stuff rolled out.

To anyone who is contemplating leaving Fiverr this year, I would suggest to keep your seller account until next tax season. You want evidence of your work here in case an audit happens. Don't just delete/deactivate your account! If you're done taking orders, pause your gigs or utilize vacation/availability mode.

I have only one open gig and haven't had any orders since February. I will pause my gigs or try the vacation mode until next tax season, so I have proof. It's kind of sad to leave here, but on the other hand, there are too many issues that are stressing me out on this platform.

  3. I'm just waiting for some funds to clear from PP to my bank, then I'll be pausing my last gig (article writing) on here. I haven't gotten many orders since Covid started. I also feel your pain with what I call the scammers. I've had a few bad reviews and some cancellations this past year too. Fiverr does not have our backs on that, especially when I get a low star rating or a cancellation, and the buyer still uses my work word-for-word on their website. Sure, it's that bad eh? I will be saying goodbye to one of my longterm clients later this week. Anyway, if anyone wants to find me after that, you know where to look.

It's funny how Fiverr has given me the "Highly responsive!" status while decreasing my success score because my effective I had a good run, and I'm sure gonna miss it. But like every other good thing, this also must come to an end.

Same here. My cleared order funds are appearing in my Fiverr account. I am now waiting for the funds to clear Paypal, and then my bank account. I expect that April 1st will be goodbye for me. I do want to screen snapshot my gigs, just so I have a little memorial of what I used to do.

PLEASE RETHINK YOUR NEW LEVELS! You're penalizing sellers that have been with Fiverr for years! I'm assuming Fiverr's goal is to make EVERYTHING automated so they can rake in the profits with very little effort. What was wrong with your original system? Were you not making enough money? It seems your mission now is to weed out sellers with lower profits by lowering levels and overall ratings in the blink of an eye. You're making it impossible for many sellers to maintain a successful rating! You're splitting hairs with your insane stats. JUST MAKE IT SIMPLE!!!!!

I've got a few more orders to fill...then, after a 10yrs as a successful freelancer on Fiverr, it will be time to say goodbye. Sad.

Same here. I'm just waiting for funds to clear. I have been here officially for ten years now, and made massive profits for Fiverr. But they don't care and don't provide any support to us at all. Scammers reign free, and our gigs are downgraded. I'm off to make another CEO rich.

New updates are coming, and we’re keeping you in the loop every step of the way. As previously announced, our latest changes are designed to help guide your journey on Fiverr with more transparency and certainty.

→ A new Freelancer Level System is ready for you to explore
We’re excited to announce that the new and improved freelancer level system is now live on the platform. You have a 30-day transition period (starting today) to familiarize yourself with the new system, check your status, and work on your metrics as needed. It's your time to shine!

While your level in the old system remains visible to clients until March 14, you should now prioritize maintaining or enhancing your standing in the new level system. You’ll be able to view the old system if necessary during this period. Learn more about the new level system and this transition period here.
Check out the new level system→

→ We’re testing changes to the ratings & reviews system
Our efforts to enhance Fiverr’s ratings & reviews system are ongoing, and we’re currently testing new improvements. We're committed to relieving the pressure of aiming for a perfect 5-star rating. The previous system often led to near-perfect scores, making it challenging for exceptional work to stand out. We’re shifting the benchmark to ensure that ratings accurately reflect performance, setting better expectations with clients as well as providing more transparency for you as freelancers.

To achieve this, we're testing changes in how public ratings are calculated. In order to present a more realistic view of your performance and service, scores will take into account ratings from the last 2 years, instead of lifetime ratings.

Additionally, we will test a new calculation method for public ratings that incorporates historical private feedback, aiming to reflect client feedback more holistically and enhance the reliability of ratings as a decision-making tool. This adjustment may lead to a change in public rating scores platform-wide.

We're conducting these tests to ensure that the changes we're making will have a positive impact on the entire marketplace. These tests will run in a manner that ensures fairness across the marketplace. Clients that encounter the new score calculation will see adjustments universally across all freelancers on the platform.

These changes aim to create a more diverse rating landscape, highlighting exceptional work and building trust on Fiverr to bring you more business.

We're attentive to your feedback regarding previous changes to the public rating and review system, including concerns about emojis, the rating scale, and the value-for-money question. Initial insights indicate positive outcomes, including:
Consistent form response rate: The recent form changes have not impacted the rate at which clients provide feedback.
Stable scores across all price ranges for the value-for-money question: There is no decrease in ratings for higher prices, and vice versa.

Be assured that we're taking your feedback seriously and will conduct additional tests to find solutions that benefit all users on the Fiverr marketplace. We'll continue to update you honestly and openly, ensuring you're part of our decision-making process at Fiverr.

    - The Fiverr Team

This is not okay. After ten year's I'm back to Level 0! Fiverr should have addressed the scammer issue on this website, not a Levels system that wasn't broken in the first place.

  7. I'm just trying to hang around for my ten-year anniversary, which is next month. I'm going to adjust my gigs to higher prices, so in a way I'll be taking a break as no one is going to want to pay those higher rates. But I don't want to pause my gigs either, in case I change my mind. I know it's hard getting your account back if you pause your gigs for too long. It's best to have other gigs on the go with other companies. I earn the majority of my income elsewhere now. It's sad that Fiverr CEO and board of directors doesn't really care about us and downgrades those of us who have been here for years. They don't even care about earning income anymore. They've lost out on tons of income from me because of this, so I imagine they've lost out on millions of dollars from other sellers who have given up here too.

I have, just yesterday, experienced the same for the first time after a full year on Fiverr - the buyer submitted a chargeback 3 weeks after delivery was physically accepted (not automatically..) and Fiverr accepted and said I'm not covered by their protection policy. I'm not even going to bother with customer service, but have uploaded the article to my own website instead. Do you find this a regular occurrence - or any tips for how to avoid this in future please?

If you have a successful order with a client then encourage them to order again. As for those who message you, it can be a red flag if they are making all these unreasonable demands, particularly for a cheap order. For example, when messaging you they may say the gig must be of a certain length with all these keywords and not AI-generated, must pass copyscape, must use 40 keywords, must not contain one grammatical or spelling error.... a few demands are fine, but when you see that they have copy and pasted the entire terms and conditions from another writing site, then you know they are reselling your work, and chances are they are going to file a claim at the end whether the work is accepted on the other end or not.

I have on one of my gigs (I only have one active at the moment), that says "I only work directly with small business owners." It doesn't screen out everyone, but most scammers or corporate people will likely go elsewhere at that point.

You can check and see what their feedback is like too.

  9. I've been forced to refund about $4000 over the past decade for scammer orders. Some were orders that I delivered a month earlier. I have seen a few of my articles posted on my former clients' websites after the fact. It is frustrating for sure. Now what I do after a refund is I post my unpaid articles to my own website. Google downgrades websites that steal content, so I make sure that mine shows up first. It also looks bad if the scammer resold my article to another site, and once they find out they will not order from them again. I don't accept many orders from Fiverr anymore, just enough to keep me occupied during my free time.

Honesly its true! hard working seller like me is totally un protected by the fiverr.
the buyer have no idea what they want! they present just a reference for the work no details nothing when you end up giving them best of the work they just come up with excuses and then ask to cancel out without giving any revision or anything which is so stupid!

I have provided all of the evidence to fiverr support with screenshots how the buyer is wrong but then they end up turning the ball in that stupid buyer goal which was very strange to me how evil is this.

This is why Fiverr should charge $50 to sign up on Fiverr for Buyers. Buyers can use that money held in trust to buy services. I'll bet they'd suddenly become accurate in their order details. It would cut off spammers and scammers too.

  11. I have an idea. When people sign up on Fiverr as Buyers, they should have to put down a $50 USD advance. They can use it to pay for Seller Services. The money will not be refundable. This will stop 100% of the scammers and spammers out there, as they will not be willing to lose $50 when they are not really here to buy services. And if they're here to scam, they won't be able to as the money is held in trust and non-refundable.

  12. I'm not seller plus but I'm also a content writer and everything is quiet now. I have paused all my gigs until I can update them. I am still accepting custom offers that I have sent to clients though, or requests for offers. I do have another project I am working on and am happy to focus on that over the next few months.

Why your prices are so low after so many years? I have seen writers charge $80- $100 for 500 words?

Seen, but unlikely to make that much. I did raise my prices to $50 one year and barely got any orders at all. I decided to drop them back down again and got tons of orders. But now there are so many writers on this site who sell 5000 words for $5 so it's just too much competition.

I was shocked to learn this past month that FIverr is going to allow generative AI gigs to be sold on their platform. Currently, there are many legal and ethical complications surrounding this technology.

For months, artists around the world have spoken in opposition to AI generated content, due to the fact that the datasets used to train AI consist of millions of copyright protected photos and pieces of art. These images were used without license, consent, compensation or credit given to the artists. This issue is perfectly illustrated by someone being able to use a specific artist's or photographer's name in the prompt text in order to generate imitations of that person's work and style.

Currently, the US does not give AI generated work copyright protection, and in the UK, the government has rolled back a policy that would have given AI developers near unparalleled exemptions for datamining after the policy was met with significant backlash by both the music industry and visual artists.

Linked below is an article on the rollback of the UK datamining exemption:

    https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/british-government-scraps-plan-for-ai-text-and-data-mining-copyright-exception/

Fiverr's decision looks even more baffling to me in light of there now being two lawsuits against AI companies, one of them by Getty Images, and the other filed on behalf of visual artists.

    Artist Lawsuit Against AI:

You can view the PDF of the lawsuit here:

Getty Images Lawsuit against Stability AI:

You can view the PDF of the Getty Images Lawsuit here:

    https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/24412807/getty_images_vs_stability_AI_delaware.pdf

In recent weeks, there has also been growing concern around AI's ability to generate deepfake visual and audio of real people, including celebrities and streamers. These deepfakes have been used to spread misinformation, to harass, and to create non-consensual p*o*r*nography. While deepfake technology has existed for a few years, what makes this new iteration potentially more dangerous and terrifying is the speed at which deepfake material can now be generated and spread, and how it will progressively become harder to distinguish from real photos or video/audio as the available models improve.

Below is a link to a news story detailing the Atrioc deepfake porn scandal:

    https://www.insider.com/atrioc-caught-qtcinderella-ai-picture-twitch-deepfake-controversy-streamer-trauma-2023-2

Now we know why Fiverr is recommending that we buy business insurance. Just imagine you deliver AI-generated art or text to your client. the client loves it and uses it. A few months later, they are sued by Disney/Mattel/Marvel/New Yorker because images/text from their company are being used by your client. Your client sues you. Now you can see how you need this insurance.

Add me to the club of disappointed sellers. When I started 8 years ago, it was supposed you could make a decent income if you were a succesful seller. Not anymore. I´ve worked hard to keep my customers happy, and I´ve collected more than 1000 5 stars reviews in this time. Useless. I struggle to get 100 dollars a month, with a profile almost perfect (100% in everything). Never was promoted to Top rated seller. The promoted gigs ruined everything, because now we have to compete PAYING TO THE PLATFORM to get buyers. The algorithm is not showing the best sellers first, only the best sellers that PAY. This used to be a great platform. But I´m really sad to say that so many changes were not useful to give us more clients. Changes were made to increase their own revenue.

I've been here since early 2014. I used to make 5 figures on here. I think I might have hit $1200 this year. While it's possible there are more sellers, many of the good buyers have left for other platforms. Fiverr has a ton of bad reviews online, so it's scaring away the good people. The only orders I get today are from my longterm clients. I expect to retire from Fiverr by the Fall, but we'll see. I think I will miss Fiverr, but not the scammers, of course.

Fiverr is dead now. It appears they're forcing people to pay $20, or $40, per month to get any clicks. Since those seller plus payment tiers have started my gigs have all gone to less than 10 clicks per month. It's devastating. I've had zero new client inquiries in 3-5+ months. Especially the last 3/4 months. It's too bad. I've been a pro voice talent for 7 years, there's no reason why I shouldn't be getting work. My quality is great, my clients are happy (5 stars on my reviews), and I have 100% on all my scores across the board. No reason why this should be happening except the fact that I'm not paying $20-$40 for seller plus, or paying for clicks.

Yes, Fiverr is dead. I started on here in the spring of 2014. Yes, it took a few months to get going, then I did well. Made over 5 figures each year. And then, this year, I might have made 3 figures, even with my ridiculously cheap article price. Fiverr is no longer my primary source of income. When they demanded that I update my gigs, I simply "Paused" most of them. It's just like the other ten platforms I used to write on. All gone now. I'm slowly winding things down. This will give me a chance to work on my own books next year.

    firstly, congrats!

do you still have that black bar on your account that says:

"Please take a moment to verify your ID within 14 days to continue offering and buying services on Fiverr."

I got an email from Fiverr that says :

"Congrats, your identity was verified! "

But I still can see that black bar on my page !! what about you? I am still stressed

No, the black bar went away a few hours after I received the verification email.

  18. The ID verification is frustrating. I've spend hours and hours trying to resolve my situation. Today, I finally managed to get the QR reader to work, and after SIX tries to take photos of my ID and me, it was finally submitted. Now it's undergoing review, which will probably take another week.

Fiverr really blew it with this process. Hundreds of people are now locked out, as they couldn't verify their ID on what is an extremely complicated process. That and not everyone has a passport or driver's licence, nor even a smart phone.
